My second appointment was so efficient, that I was already injected at 12:03pm from my noon appointment. WOW. Cons: Getting my appointment set up. No online tool, and sending them emails to set up an appointment was a true time waster and useless. Calling to set up my appointment was difficult as well as I had left vm's and could not connect. Further challenges were that they were only open for Mondays & Tuesdays as a doctor had left the clinic. Despite this, I will miss coming here as for my injections (they are going virtual) bc of the super quick and friendly service.

All of them rejecting me and some told me to call back in January and this is the only clinic that was considering accepting new patients at the end. I feel like I scored a jackpot. They weren't 100% going to accept, they would need me to still come in first and they'll see before accepting. This clinic is inside the World on Yonge just north of Steeles at the borderline of Toronto and Thornhill. Parking is tricky on the main floor but there is plenty of free underground parking. Front staff was really nice and the doctor I had was patiently listening to me as I list out my family history etc. So far a good first experience at the clinic. Very tempted to gate keep since it took a lot of hard work and I'm worried about the patient wait times in the future. I remember my old family doctor is farther downtown, no free parking and I'll have to wait 2hrs every time I had an appointment with her and she was at the end of it (really wanted to retire but couldn't because of the amount of patients she has). I feel really bad for family doctors, too few and we need more of them.

Anyway, I saw Dr Ibrahim. I went to the pharmacy in the evening but it turns out the drug prescribed was not available in Canada (how does a Canadian doctor not know that?) The clinic would not fax an updated version of the drug to the pharmacy. They said it would take 48 hours (which I couldnt wait obviously). In the end I had to go to a different clinic to update the prescription.

Figured it was over, done. Got my orthotics, bye bye. Today I received an unsolicited e-mail from them (mass-mailing, obviously) which had the word (in caps) "IMPORTANT announcement" (on the subject line), and several "urgent" (in bold) throughout the e-mail. INAPPROPRIATE!!!!!!!!! When one receives an e-mail from a medical clinic and the words "important"/"urgent" are on there, this is not calming ... or relaxing ... or "well-making". Someone obviously had a lot of time on their hands to create this somewhat in your face, super-duper "important" e-mail. I could not even unsubscribe from this nuisance. I left them a voicemail message telling them to take me off - never want to hear from you again! There's nothing remotely enjoyable about pending vaccinations, especially if one of those…read morevaccinations is yellow fever. But alas, it must be done. I found this travel clinic online, and their consultation fee was the cheapest one, not to mention it was close to my work. The best part about this place is that it's right on the subway line (Sheppard Line) and it's close to North York General Hospital - about a 2 minute walk from the South exit, on the west side (which would be directly across the hospital). I made an appointment, though they have walk-in clinic days. Consultation was $35 (if you go with another person) - or $40 if you are going alone. Dr. Edwards looked at our itinerary and walked us through all the shots and medication we would have to take for all the areas we are going to be going to. She was very thorough and time-efficient, though not the most personable. In the end we had to take two shots, Yellow fever and Hep A. They total cost was $193 ($90 for yellow fever), they also charged a $8 administration fee. We walked in around 3:30 and left at 4:40ish (you have to wait 30 minutes after you get the yellow fever shot). Overall, a pretty painless experience.

Appointment booking is a breeze and they will try their best to help you out. I am myself an ICU Nurse in a busy Hospital and it is a true blessing having this clinic in a short drive distance.
