I have been riding for years. Service is 100X better then it was a few years ago. Great drivers and friendly call center staff.

I am an easy going person and understand that there are going to be problems occasionally, especially if you lose a service twice a day Monday thru Friday. I have had two good drivers in the decade my clients have used this service and count us lucky for that. On the other hand, the administration staff is absolute trash. They are incredibly rude and hold back no regards in how they speak to you. They do not take in consideration that the people who they are dealing with have disabilities. NADA seems to be the one that always answer the phone and I'm not sure what her role in the company is but they would do better to be without her. When my sister (79 and on oxygen) was taken to a Dr appt the drive was great. However when she was ready to return, they said it would be an hour wait. After an hour the van didn't show up. We called the office after waiting 15 more minutes concerned because her portable oxygen tank was running out. They said they wouldn't be there for another 30 minutes. When I explained that she had to get back to the nursing home because her oxygen was almost gone, they said " Sorry we overbooked." And the man I talked to didn't seem to be able to do anything. Disclaimer - I've never used their services, and I really hope I never need to. I've had an issue with a driver for several months now; he parks illegally on the side of the road, making it dangerous for anyone traveling down the road and using the center turn lane. I've contacted Meda Care several times regarding this; at first they acted like they cared and said that they would talk to the driver. Now they're saying that the driver is fine parked in a bike lane with "no parking" signs posted, and there's a driveway right there that he could use. My safety is on the line every time he's pulled over like this and I need to turn left into my driveway; cars flying down a busy road are trying to squeeze between me trying to turn left and the Meda Care van parked illegally. Of course calling the police would be useless; by the time they show up he'd be long gone. I've informed Meda Care that when, not if, I get hit because the van is there, the police and insurance are going to see screenshots of me trying to resolve the issue and Meda Care pretty much saying "we don't care". The blatant disregard for other peoples' safety has to stop. read more

Today my family used this business to transport my 85 year old Mother and 39 year old nephew. Both are in wheel chairs and both are in different facilities. The facilities are less than 15 minutes from each other; yet, they took 2 hours in between picking up my nephew and picking up my Mother. When the van pulled in, the driver pulled in the wrong lot, we watched in horror as he speed in, spun around and pulled back out of the lot. The driver then sped into the next lot, spun around again and my husband ran after the van pointing to where they were to be delivered. As he lowered the ramp we saw my Mom had vomited on herself, probably from being carsick. I immediately called the service and demanded a new driver for the return trip home. At 2:30 when we called for a van they told us the pick up would be at 3. At 3:10 we called again and were told they didn't have a pick up today for them. We called multiple times again until the final pick up at 4:30. By that time, we were able to get our mother into a family car and take her home. My nephew was too large to transport and had to wait for the van. I refused to pay for my Mother and was given $10 off the $90 charge for my nephew. I would not recommend this van service to anyone! read more

Agreeing with another reviewer, Nicole S., this time on I-75S @Tylersville in a gray Doge minivan. This idiot went less than 50mph to merge on the expressway, and was checking his phone. The poor person behind me got run off the road by the car hauler that had no where to go because of this ass hat. I tried to call the number that Google has listed for them but sadly it's listed to a poor women who gets 100 calls a day for this 'company.' read more

Horrible customer service!!! Would give 0 stars if I could. Try to report one of the vans almost running me and my family off the road on the highway and customer service was very disrespectful after attempting to explain incident. The driver was in the wrong and they were not understanding to the situation at all. Very unsafe and they situation should be handled immediately taking the driver off the road. I'm sure they will not happen. But I hope those reaches enough people. read more

Meda-Care was contracted to take my father from his nursing home to a doctor's appointment and back. He made it to his appointment on time but they failed to return to pick him up. The nursing home was in contact with them on numerous phone calls where they were given a variety of times....be there in 15 minutes, another 1/2 hour etc. Meda-Care eventually quit answering calls from the nursing home. My sister received a call from an employee from the doctors office (by this time they were closed for the day). A wonderful woman stayed with our father until transportation arrived...4-1/2 hours later. Our father has osteomylitis and is not supposed to be sitting for long periods. He is also diabetic with a colostomy and a cathater. By the time they showed up to get him he was soiled and in a lot of pain. I would never recommend that you use this service for transportation of a loved one under any circumstances.. read more

The worst service ever, not the first time dealing with this company. My father have to spend 7(seven!!!) hours in the waiting area to be picked up from Eye Institute. He is 84 years old, dosn't speak english, can not walk more than 50 feet even with a walker and on top of that can hardly see! From 8 am till 4:30 pm with no food, no water and not be able to take his medication. How in the world can Athna Better Health of Ohio have a contract with such a lousy, irresponsible provider?!!! read more

I was admitted to Good Sam. hospital and had to be transported to Mercy Fairfield to have my pain pump refilled. After which I was then taken back to Good Sam. I had no issues with the service and the driver was very friendly and helpful. The issue that I have with Meda-Care is that I paid the driver 180.00 cash as agreed upon. But I can not get them to send me a receipt. I need this to submit to BWC so that I can be reimbursed. I contacted the Social Service/Patient Care Cordinator at Good Sam hospital who recommended and called Meda-Care for me and told her that I am having difficulty getting a receipt. She also called left a voicemail stating that I need a receipt and thus far I have not heard back from them nor have I received a receipt. I would strongly recommend that if you pay them make sure you get a receipt immediately from the driver. Otherwise, it may be a losing battle. read more

Pure incompetence. Missed first doctor appointment when transportation did not arrive. Appointment rescheduled a week later- July 2, 2015 11 AM. I was told they would arrive as early as 9:45. It is two o'clock. I have called insurance carrier six times who has contacted them each time. I was told I could expect to arrive at doctor's office at noon, 1 PM, 2PM and now 3PM. Twice they outright lied and said a driver was en route and I would be picked up in 10 to 15 minutes. Update: second straight appointment missed. 11 AM appointment for which I arrived after 3:30 (I have a very patient, caring physician. Two of their own employees say the company is incompetently run, and dispatchers tell both customers and drivers whatever is necessary to avoid confrontation. As of July 2014, Meda Care Transportation owes state of Ohio $170,000 for overbilling medicaid. read more

WORST SERVICE ever!!! Waited 2h.25min for 15 min.drive back from doctor appointment. 1st promised to pick up in 15 to 45min, after 50 min called company and was put on hold for 13min. after that was told to wait 20min more-no apology. 2nd waited 25min and called again and put on hold again for 19 min. and after that was told to wait 25 min. and if no car arrived call back -no apology. 3rd. car arrived in 35 min. This kind of service must be not tolerated by the consumer. read more

Drivers are consistently late. Sometimes 20 minutes, sometimes 45 and once 4 hours! The dispatching team is even worse. You cannot get an accurate answer from them when you call to ask "what is the ETA of my driver?" The staff answering the phone are rude and are incapable of listening to a complaint because they are so ready to defend themselves by making claims such as: The driver is caught in traffic, the driver had to pick her own kids up from school, the driver is lost, the driver was there but didn't see anyone, the driver can't be reached for me to ask him, the driver this, the driver that. The drivers do not take care in picking up their clients, either. They do not offer assistance to buckle seatbelts for their riders, they do not offer assistance stepping into the vehicle. Recently, I had to scrape ice off the running board of the van so that my employee could step onto it without sliding off. The whole organization is just very inept at transportation and communication. I hope this company is fully evaluated the next time their contract with Medicare is up for renewal - The cheapest cost is most often not the best bang for your buck. read more

This has been my Girlfriends transportation service for well over a year at the time I'm posting this. She is wheelchair bound unable to do a transfer to a regular vehicle. They have on multiple accounts sent a regular van out to pick her up saying "oh we didn't know she was wheelchair bound." Normally they fix the issue and send us a new ride immediately with wheelchair accessibility. Today though (on a day when she couldn't miss her doctors appointment) they wouldn't even send a replacement out. We contacted the head guy and after spamming his phone 4 or 5 times he finally answered, told us he was in a meeting and couldn't do anything and had us call Boris (sp) the manager. Called him and he told us we would not be getting a ride in time. We spent an hour trying to find a ride and finally got a hold of Towne Taxi. they said they normally have 24h to set up a wheelchair accessible cab for pickup but they would try to get someone here today at the cost of $65 for the first 10 miles. lucky us her appointment is only a few miles from here. Meda Care said they would take care of the bill but that will be seen later. for someone on a fixed income we cant afford to do this. I highly recommend getting a different transportation company if you can do so. read more

You could end up standing and waiting for up to two hours for your return trip home. It happened to me on three separate occasions before I quit their inept service and wrote this post. The last time, they offered no apology and acted as if I was the problem and they were inconvenienced by my demands to be picked up. They have gotten worse as their business has grown. read more

Don't use this company! I called,set up an appointment for them to transport my mother to her doctor, the were late and the proceeded to go make a second pickup which we had not been informed of. After calling their office and being referred to the owner and a lengthy conversation, my mother was then taken to her doctor's appointment. Not only was this a problem but the are liars! Wasn't told about a second pickup or I would not have used them, was told on the phone when I made the appointment that the driver could wait for a fee which I agreed to pay and then was told the day of the appointment they don't do that, was going to pay cash until I was told by the driver he couldn't give me a receipt, he called the office and I was told they could email one to me which was unacceptable! They said they would send a bill. I should have done my research before using this company because I have not read one good thing about them! read more
