He was still very weak, to the point that someone had to be with him to make sure he ate and was giving water. He could not lift his arms at all. I visited with him on a Wednesday evening and was assured by the staff that he would be checked on every 15 minutes, so I went home for some much needed sleep. Fast forward 9 hrs, I get a phone call that said he had been found UNRESPONSIVE WITH THE BLANKET OVER HIS HEAD. I get to the hospital and when I spoke to the doctor, he stated that he had stopped life saving measures as soon as the paramedics brought dad in. Rigor had already set in. There is no possible way that dad could have, or would have, thrown that blanket over his head. He was to weak and was extremely claustrophobic. He wouldn't even close the restroom door! Don't put your loved one in this place, unless you can stay with them.

After researching places, my son was excited about getting clean, so we pulled money out of our retirement accounts with great hopes that this would be a success. Instead, our son left extremely depressed and soon returned to drinking. We had a chance to see the inside beyond the lobby area, and I could see how the rooms contributed to his depression. He did not see any of the people listed on their website as their team. It all sounds great until you get there. I'm writing this review, so others do not become broken-hearted as we are over the decision to send our son to Twin Lakes. He is now worse than when he entered. There are plenty of activities to keep the residents engaged, and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels included and valued. I was in a tight schedule because I had to go back to work so I told my partner to take the dog home so I can just rush back to work and figure out what we would like to do when I told them that the dog went back home, they literally start yelling at me asking me why I took the dog home when they needed to stay overnight I told him I had to go back to work and my priorities were to make sure I made money to be able to pay this bill and unfortunately the attention and service I received was enough for me to not go back
