Hub Cap Annie and Wheel - Hole in Seat

Hub Cap Annie and Wheel

(28 reviews)

I brought my nearly brand-new car to Hubcap Annie in Garden City for what should have been a very…read moresimple repair: fixing a small chip on one wheel. The car had under 500 miles on it and was in pristine condition when I dropped it off. When I got the car back, it had serious damage that did not exist before. The center lock nut and seat were damaged beyond repair, leaving me with over $6,250 in repair costs to correct the damage caused while the vehicle was in their care. Initially, the owner acknowledged there was an issue and told me he would cover the repair costs after he caught his employee lying about what happened. However, the moment he saw the actual repair bill, his attitude completely changed. Instead of honoring what he said, he became rude, dismissive, and started changing his story multiple times. Rather than taking responsibility for damage done to a customer's vehicle, he chose to argue, deflect blame, and lecture me about business, which was both unprofessional and insulting. The conversation quickly turned into excuses and contradictions. It became clear that customer accountability and honesty are not priorities here. For a business entrusted with people's vehicles--especially high-value vehicles--this kind of behavior is unacceptable. If a shop makes a mistake, the professional thing to do is stand behind the work and make it right. That did not happen here. What should have been a quick and simple wheel repair turned into thousands of dollars in damage and a frustrating experience dealing with a business owner who repeatedly changed his story. As a member of the Porsche Club of America, I will absolutely be sharing this experience with other enthusiasts so they can make informed decisions about where they trust their vehicles. If you care about your car, especially a high-end or specialty vehicle, I strongly recommend taking it somewhere else.

I was honestly skeptical that repair was even possible, but when I saw the finished product I was blown away. The wheels look better than showroom condition -- you'd never know they were ever damaged. Even more impressive was their customer service. The repair took a little longer than expected, and without me even asking they significantly reduced the bill to make up for the inconvenience. That kind of integrity is rare. Top-notch craftsmanship and outstanding service. I couldn't be happier with the result and highly recommend them.

Les Schwab Tire Center - They told me my battery had "mild battery corrosion" when really the metal band that clasps the wires to the battery was broke.

Also scheduled a "pre-trip" inspection, just to get a check up on the truck. 1) They ignored my sensors and installed their own sensors anyways. They mounted and "balanced" with THEIR sensors, which were rubber valve stems vs the Schrader Metal valve stems I provided. Once they did install the valves and sensors I provided, they did not even bother to check the balance again. 2) With the Pre-trip inspection, they informed me that the front brake pads were very worn and needed replaced ASAP. Then they proceeded to quote me for $1,000+ to do that with new pads, new rotors, and whatever else... Pretty damn shady in my opinion! Just because the pads are worn, doesn't mean the rotors need to be replaced entirely. Even if the rotors are grooved/worn, I can have the rotors turn locally for a few bucks each. Dakota was polite and respectful to deal with, but I'll NEVER use Les Schwab again after that experience. I paid the bill and left, I'm not going to argue this kind of crap and I shouldn't have to explain it either. Lesson learned, go to commercial tire instead. BE AWARE before working with this business! Not very honest in my opinion, heck I'm not even sure they installed the SENSOR that I provided. Could've easily just swapped the valve stems to save time. ‍

Let's start this review by saying I don't enjoy giving 1 star reviews, but this place deserves it…read more I called ahead to ask if I could get in to have my tire either repaired or buy 2 new tires. I drove across town to go there. During my call- the guy said I could have my tires siped.. or to add extra traction. Then I get there and a guy named Chris who began the inaction by saying when I walked in, he said "I'm trying to hide from people" Then I explained I had just called and needed 2 tires replaced. He essentially made excuses they were too busy then suggested I get my air checked. He filled them and during the course of the conversation- I explained I had been over to Discount tire and had my air pressure checked a couple months ago- and the sensor on the dash was on. He said, and I quote, "I should slap you for even going over there." Then proceeded to air up a woman's vehicle tires and started talking to her as I was still speaking to him. Then, bonus.. I go over to Discount tire today and they said sipening the tires would void the warranty while Les Swab Tire said it wouldn't and they're the ones who did the repair on the tire that was going flat. Apparently they use round repair rubber and Discount uses square. Pretty bad experience and would not recommend them at all especially Chris. He wears 2 stars on his jacket color1
