The online reports showed each item that he identified with clear videos and descriptions and suggested responses, and clear updates for the re-inspection for items that were fixed. We were so pleased with Rodrigo's work and would suggest him to any nearby friends and family.

Vince did not report my improperly flashed window, which is at the front of my house, next to my…read morefront door. There are very obvious, large holes in the flashing, that allows water to pour directly into my wall. Because of that, the entire wall, all the way down the foundation is completely rotted. I am now facing $20k+ in repairs. Every person I've had inspect it has noticed the issue within the first few seconds of looking at the window. Vince also did not notice the drywall cracks underneath 5 of my windows, as well as drywall cracking above my doors, indicating foundation issues. When I contacted Vince, he did not try to have a conversation with me, he immediately got his father (the owner) to speak for him. His father scheduled himself to come take a look at the issue, but when he came to my house he got argumentative. He told me that his son is excellent and no inspector can catch everything. When I mentioned that I work in Architecture and this is something that should have been obvious, he resorted to snide comments, telling me "you're just an expert then." I did not ask him to come to my house, he volunteered himself. I have no idea why he even bothered if his plan was to be rude and defensive. I don't know about you, but an inspector saying they can't catch everything (in reference to something that was on full display,) does not give me much confidence in their knowledge or expertise. I would understand if this was a hidden issue, but I think windows should be a pretty elementary topic for most skilled home inspectors.

Use extreme caution:…read more There is a limited liability clause in their contract that limits their liability to the amount you pay for your services. This means no matter how devastatingly negligent they are, you only get back the amount paid for the inspection. Below are just a few things that Vincent missed while conducting my termite and home inspection: 1. The master shower is supported by a large rock due to the floor rotting out underneath it. 2. Extensive exterior termite damage that was never probed. 3. Interior and exterior window and door facings that were patched with caulk and painted over (never probed). 4. Federal Pacific electrical panel - never noted to be extreme fire hazard and recommend replacement. 5. Large crack in foundation 6. HVAC pad unsteady with dirt washed out from underneath. 7. Conducting termite inspections under someone else's license. This is not illegal, but Vincent lacks the experience to conduct such inspections. These are just a few of the misses leading to hundreds of thousands of dollars of devastation.

Well, NACA certified inspector and is an Inspector separate from NACA. First, I don't give 5 stars for just showing up. I was brought up to earn what I get and take care of the things I am blessed to have. So, HIRD gets 5 stars because Mr. Davis is the Inspector that showed up and handled business in a (1) professional, (2) prompt, (3) Courteous, (4) Full Disclosure type manner, (5) and got the reports done expeditiously! Can't ask for much more not even free. Why? I wouldn't trust him if he was free. Hey~ I'm happy to pay for what I want. I simply want good service. Disclaimer: For established Yelper's or my followers - you know how I can be so I hope this goes pretty par for the course compared to all other reviews that I have written. What do I mean? If I get to gushy - tap me on the shoulder so I can stop. What worked: Inspection or Inspections in Charlotte should be mandatory for closing but they're not. 1) He didn't give me the whole "spill" on what a great investment an inspection is or could be...BUT hey! maybe you'll want that. Not I said the cat. lol 2) He arrived well ahead of me and I was 30 minutes early. 3) He parked out of the way and was tidy + courteous about not making tracks with his shoes and taking pictures that didn't include people. 4) Personable: as I had several contractors and sub-contractors stop in...he greeted and interacted professionally courteous and they all hit it off. 5) My report was done and emailed before I got across town and back. What can improve: a) Card processing at some point. He his picked up Square and Intuit but I'm hoping Paypal may be added at some point. Yep, I like double invoicing which is what Paypal affords and other Paypal benefits matter too. Payment: 1) Cash or check. But hey at least this way he doesn't have to incur a bunch of fees yet I know for some people this can be a bummer especially when you are accustomed to swiping for everything. Look, I've got friends that have never bought checks. I actually prefer them for certain bigger purchases like this. It's not expensive but the service is invaluable and I like to document with as much as possible. 2) He offers a deal to NACA loanee's (that's people who are closing with NACA). Outside of NACA his price is about 15%-22% less than the market average. That's a good thing because trust me, the cheapest; nor is the most expensive always the best. He is right in the middle.
