She listened to all my concerns and my fears and was reassuring. She made sure I understood all my options and was respectful of my concerns. For a little background knowledge, I got the Right side of my wisdom teeth removed at a dental office in Texas and I was supposed to get my left side done along with a crack tooth. However I was in so much pain at this dental office IN TEXAS, I never got my cracked tooth and my left wisdom teeth extracted. A couple weeks back I experienced extreme pain from the cracked tooth, this pain was highly uncomfortable leading me to have an emergency appointment with my actual dental office. They ended up referring me out to a oral surgery office called Bayside however they wouldn't be able to see me until January. I knew my pain was so intense and that if I let the tooth stay in my mouth any longer, I possibly could've died if a infection would've got to my bloodstream. Fortunately, at the emergency appointment, I was told there was no infection or abscess, but the tooth was truly dead, and there was no saving to it due to how deep the crack was. The cracked tooth had been in my mouth for roughly 2 and a half years after my first experience, I was so scared and frightened to go to any doctors office however, upon researching, I found Dr. Flock's office, and I read reviews, and I really took a leap of faith off of the great reviews, and I am here to report back what amazing experience that I had. From the beginning to the end, the two ladies, Mrs. Jennifer and Mrs.Crystal at the front desk are absolute, sweethearts! Those two ladies helped me tremendously, especially me being so young and navigating life in general. This being my first time getting IV sedation and using my husband's insurance as a newly married couple, I was pretty nervous. I would call the office so many times asking for information and how much my insurance would cover to get all the information I wanted in order to be prepared. these two ladies were absolutely respectful and so professional not once did they ever give me an attitude over how many questions I asked how many times I called, these ladies are truly outstanding front desk, receptionist! Due to my severe pain, I opted for the same day consultation and extraction. I got my left wisdom teeth and my cracked tooth removed and I am on day three and I literally feel little to no pain. like AT ALL just swollen. The pain truly is a 1 out of 10. I did get IV sedation, and I was so freaking nervous, the machine that was tracking my heart rate was beeping nonstop, that the nurse said by the time I have the procedure I'm going to be tired from being so nervous lol. Dr. flock and his wonderful dental assistant reassured me and conversed with me to calm my nerves, and it definitely helped. Dr. Flock is VERY professional and communicated to me the whole time he explained how my teeth were perfectly in the great position to get them out and that the procedure wouldn't take long at all. I literally felt like the procedure was 10 minutes and I kept asking after the procedure, "are you sure you got everything" lol because it was that fast to me. I am truly amazed by how professional, Dr. Flock and his staff truly are. I did have to pay a good portion even with my insurance coverage however, that is something I would do over and over again due to how greatly and professionally I was treated! I truly never experienced any dental visit like this, in the beginning I was very nervous, but they talked me through it and he communicated whenever he was getting ready to inject the medication into my IV and next thing I was laying in the dark with a nice blanket in the dark and the light switched on, and I was done lol. thank you Dr. Flock, Mrs. Jennifer, Mrs. Crystal, and the lovely dental assistant that was with Dr. Flock for my procedure! My wife had an urgent need for a root canal and we were referred to Dr. Engle for immediate help...like in the next hour emergency root canal. The staff upon arrival was set up with Dr. Engle and there was no wait for my wife. I met him briefly and he assured me they could handle it. I took care of the paperwork and insurance. I was disappointed that we were out of network on insurance but it was worth it. The staff throughout was wonderful. After days of meds and pain following the procedure my wife stabilized. She had two follow ups approximately a week apart and everything turned out wonderful. The best part was that they saved her tooth. Post four months no issues whatsoever. As it turned out the office worked with my insurance over weeks for the payment to be the same as in-network. No promises to others. An emergency root canal is not cheap. So in my ortho treatment I was referred here to do just a supernumerary tooth removal of a baby tooth that never came up to the surface. Right.) so, I of course was nervous that I had to get this done in order to start my orthodontist care. So, I also had 5 wisdom teeth... FIVE!! So, I'm like "what the heck, get them all pulled at once" because I'm one of the toughest gals out here that I know. Everything went great with the consultation and before I knew it I had the official extraction appt booked for 6 teeth removal. I of course grew anxious and hella nervous as the days moved onward and I called almost every other day for some comfort. When I tell you that the staff was there at my beck and call ready to bring me the best comfort and reassurance they could possibly have given me prior to the appt would be an UNDERSTATEMENT. They happily answered all of my questions and put down all of my worries with such grace and compassion. I could literally hear the staff on the other end patiently and kindly access my needs. Dr Kyu is the best! I went in for a root canal and felt great 4 days later!…read more The day I had the appointment for the consultation, I had many questions about a possible root canal. I was apprehensive as I had only heard painful stories about root canals. Dr Kyu was very knowledgeable and put my fears at ease. Also, knowing that I had to get this done, I put my fears aside. The day of the procedure, Dr Kyu made sure to ask if I had any other questions. During the procedure I was always expecting to feel some pain but it never came. Other than a few pricks from a needle to numb the area I didn't feel any pain at all. And even those weren't that bad! Also, throughout the procedure he made sure to check if I was doing well. I had the same experience with the follow up cleaning and finishing of the root canal. Overall, a very painless experience. They also accept Delta Dental along with many other insurance providers. I wanted to thank Dr Kyu and his staff again and I do highly recommend his services and expertise!

My very first visit to Chesapeake Dental Specialist, I felt I was in good hands. Dr. Gray is super knowledgeable in dentistry, comfortable with his skills and confident in his work. I knew he would take good care of my Colgate smile. He answered my battery of questions with a smile and ask if I had any more! His warming and welcoming staff are friendly. Kim at the front desk is just a lovely lady who welcomes you with a bright hello. I'm sure there is a smile under that mask. Takes your temp and ask the Covid precautions questions that we are all so use to now. My short wait wasn't even enough time to check email or Pinterest pages. I really appreciate the short wait time as my time is valuable as well. The decor of the office is bright clean, clean and nicely decorated. Very stylish like a picture in DECOR magazine. Plants dot throughout. I noticed a air purifier in the bright clean waiting room. So my tooth extractions were scheduled according to my schedule. I was given a order for propalatic meds to help keep infection away. The orders were ordered electronically send to the pharmacy. The dental assistant advised me how and when to use them. I needed a driver to accompany my home since I was receiving anesthesia. The office sent me reminder text prior to my visit. Very very helpful since the healing time was 3 months apart. My procedure started by making sure I was comfortable. Rinse swish first, Dr Gray explained the procedure again. My vitals were monitored, anesthesia administered. I awoke in no pain. I was walked out with assistance to my hubby waiting in the spacious waiting room. I was so pleased and wished I had not waited so long. 2 teeth extractions, virtually no pain. I waited some time took 2 Ibruprophen after a few hrs at home. The office sent me home with a bag of supplies, gauze, tea bags, cold compress and post on instructions. Nice touch. My procedure today was a continuation of the above procedure. Jackie,Dr Gray 's assistant was friendly and caring. She took time to make sure I was comfortable and calm. No anesthesia today but still monitored my vitals. Dr. Gray is a caring man who educates his staff as my procedure proceeded. I have worked in Healthcare for 30 years now, various states, various positions. I've heard a multitude of doctors speak to staff and some patients with condescension attitude. Dr Gray is NOT of that element. His respectful demeanor earns my seal of approval. I have a few more visits that I can look forward to now. I'm in good hands and although Dental surgery can make anyone cringe, make excuses and even lie to your self...I can recommend Dr. Gray at Chesapeake Dental Specialist with highest regards. I was sent home today again with a bag of supplies, gauze, lip balm post op instructions and a cold compress. Very thoughtful touch.

I am going through alot in my personal life & this visit had me more anxious than when I found out my complete 3rd degree heartblock, my incarcerated hernia or even my right lung PE. I was so nervous that it made me physically ill. I am not a worrier, except for today. I asked Dr Gray how he was feeling and told him that I said a prayer for him and his crew. Initially I had alot of pain but I am 11 hours post op and the bleeding has stopped and I have very little pain. His staff really make you feel as if they are a member of your family. Everyone is kind, gracious and caring. I couldn't recommend Dr Gray enough. And just like that last time, Keisha called after I had been home for a bit to see how I was doing.
