The service was good, the food was served quickly and was delicious but a few of the items we wanted on the menu were not available. The Falafel was served warm and it was very good. The chicken shawarma was tasty and full of fresh ingredients. Prices are reasonable for the quality and the amount of food for each menu item.

At 7pm we called Singidunum to make a reservation for 4 at 9pm and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We weren't sure what to expect, but it was such a wonderful experience! The waiter and manager (looked like the boss) were so nice and friendly. The restaurant was nice and perfect for our NYE dinner with live Serbian music played downstairs. Plus the dinner was delicious. They had a price fix menu which made it easier for everyone. It came with two choices of brandy, tasty roast beef and duck or a seafood/veggie plate. My husband loved the roast beef. The fish and rice pilaf were great, the "drunk" turkey with veggies tasted like a scrumptious stew that was cooked with love and the pear soaked in red wine for dessert with French cream ice cream and fancy fudge cakes were delicious! We didn't stay for the midnight champagne and fresh strawberries but we were so impressed by the restaurant. It was a wonderful experience all around. We will be back the next time we are in Prague! It is "$$$" only compared to the rest of Prague, since my Vietnamese dinner from the other night was only half the price. For tourists, this is a steal. Food: I had the sweet n' sour chicken. It came out a bit strange, with the fried chicken and the sauce separated. The sauce also wasn't the traditional Chinese sweet n' sour either; it was much thicker, looked like "tar," and is much stronger but nonetheless delicious. The cucumber salad was also very refreshing. The duck wasn't half bad either, but too dry for my liking - my friends loved it, though. Downside: rice has to be ordered. For most of the dinner entrees (excluding the noodles), they're impossible to eat without rice to balance the taste, but rice is only 49czk so not too bad.

And everything in the restaurant is authentic to the Balkan, especially the food. My favorite is the incredibly delicious patty filled with Ajvar (traditional sauce) and potatoes. It tastes just like it tastes at home. In addition, the interior is purposely old-traditional, the waiters are dressed in great traditional uniforms and the music is of course from the Balkan. In other words, if you want to go through a true Balkan experience, this is place is the closest to it. I recommend it to everyone with good taste of food (probably non-vegetarians) and good music.

The atmosphere and the ambiance is not bad but nothing to write home about either. We liked the lemonade and the great Moravian wine from Spielberg Winery. The desserts and appetizers were both excellent. The main course was nothing special really and we are talking Norwegian Salmon fillet and Fillet Mignon steak. I did not even get a steak knife and the tough meat really deserved it. I would use the restaurant if staying in the hotel but it is not worth a detour. Who wants to pay 5 EUR for a beer which costs maximum 2 EUR everywhere else? The service was good and friendly, I must admit.

When you will visit, ask to be seated in the back of the restaurant in the room which surrounds a huge tree trunk. I was told the tree is fake, but the room nevertheless looks magical. The restaurant offers a good wine list with both by the glass and bottle options. We decided on Vranec from Monte Negro which was nice and concentrated, but not overly heavy. Started dinner with a salad of cherry tomatoes and mozzarella, outstanding (note that in English menu, the dish is described as tomato tartar, but those were simply halved cherry tomatoes). We shared a pizza, which was delicious, and then halibut which was also nicely cooked (poached) and very tasty. Excellent prompt and friendly service. Highly recommended.

Also, a very minor thing, the wooden floor in the backroom makes very loud noises when anyone, even a 5 year old, walks on it so management might look into adding some padding on their floors and most importantly, add more waiters on your busy times!
