Upon entry there were lots of people in the lobby waiting on their orders. I believe there was only one cook and the restaurant owner was assisting with it and also working as the cashier. Price: They have a $8.50 lunch menu with lots of options. Taste: 10/10 We ordered 2 Phillys and fries with apple and peach cobblers. The portion sizes were reasonable. It ALL tasted VERY GOOD. It was definitely worth the 30min wait. We started eating as soon as we home and forgot to take pictures of the food. That's how much we liked it. Parking: 10/10 The restaurant is located in the same parking lot as Chow Time. Decor: 3/10 It was a small establishment with very few decorations. From the pics on the wall it seems like a family owned restaurant. The tables and chairs were dated. So, I didn't sit down because I didn't trust their sturdiness. American and soul food. My go to is the EJ's special. Not sure what's in the sauce but it's amazing. Salmon and shrimp over rice so filling. Plus it comes with a side and bread! I visited meals for you several times when they first opened. Excellent service and food. I encouraged others to go. Unfortunately after my last visit I was very disappointed. The food was bland and the customer service was a 5 out of a 10 rating I have a problem understanding why our people ( African Americans) start off at 100. My 1st time in Memphis and I was looking for soul food restaurant and came up on this restaurant through Google. I'm from New York and only was up driving through with my husband who is a truck driver. I ordered online for pickup. The lady in the front was very welcoming and pleasant and was dealing with another customer so I waited a little. She informed me that my food was getting put to together. Everything was packed neatly and separately and labeled. Me and my husband sat in the truck and devoured that food in 10 minutes!! He had the Salmon with shrimp over rice and I had the grilled catfish with Mac and cheeses and we both had peach cobblers. The food was delish!!! The peach cobbler omgggg so good!! Meals for you is truly heaven sent!!! i work down the way at SIMOS & i'm so grateful that they are a walking distance away because of i forget to bring my lunch they got me covered! food is always hot fresh and DELICIOUS !!! i have eaten there only 3 times since starting with simos and they got me right each time. hoping this brings them more business because the food is FYE !!! their waffle fries are better than chikfila's !!! so crispy and cooked to perfection! the fish was also outstanding and the mac n cheese was up there on the scale with my moms mac n cheese so that says a lot !!! praying their business gets more customers because everybody has gotta try this !!! read more

Walked in on a Wednesday and tried the wings and Mac n' cheese. They were so gracious enough to let me split the 3 wings flavors (seasoned, hot, honey gold)This was very nice because a lot of places either don't allow you to split them or you have to order a high amount before you can split. I really appreciated that because it was my first time eating there and I like to sample a little bit of everything if I don't know what to order. Customer service is key! The wings were legit and the honey gold sauce is phenomenal. The Mac n' cheese was very good as well. Reminded me of my grandmas mac. I actually left the premises and came back to try the dessert because the food was so exceptional. My spouse and I had the lunch entrees of fried pork chops, lasagna, spinach, green beans, the three bean side, and cornbread muffins. Okay so right when I was about to go to the buffet across from where I parked, I saw this spot and said ya know let me see what this spot I haven't tried is cooking up so boom. Walk in right at 6:44 on a Friday when everybody tryna make it to the house and I'm greeted, of course I was given the time in which they close which is 7 and yet they were willing to take my order at a last minutes notice and got me my philly okay. If that isn't customer service at its finest, idk what is aight so cool what the good tasting like you might ask. Everything is fire like yo uncle bbq at a family cookout. Nasty nasty nasty‼I have tried this place 3 times with hope that it would get better because the review (which are obviously family/friends or fake). IT DIDN'T. The food is unseasoned so much to the point I've had to "doctor" it up each time. The rice is always undercooked (its wild rice but crunchy where it shouldn't be)...today's rice tasted like it was boiled in mop water. The taste/flavor (or lack thereof) is not consistent from previous orders. The bottom of my salmon was mushy and grey. They didnt have the decency to devein a few of the shrimp which I accidentally ate some before noticing so hopefully I didnt eat get a deveined one. Oh & their sides are just okay with no season which will also have to be "doctored" up with your own seasoning. The worse part for me is I wasted $18+tax on food i couldnt stomach to eat. Oh & the owner was there cooking 2 of the 3 times which is surprising. I called to complain the 2nd time my food was bad and was given the excuse that no one else complained but given I measley 25% discount which is why I decided to go back along with the fake reviews about good food just hoping I'd have that experience. SUPER DISAPPOINTED‼I'd rather eat a can of beans before going there again. read more
