It is a bit of a drive from KC area, but easy to find and get to. The event space overlooks scenic hills and a mini pond/lake, it was so calming! It's a great place to host events, and then we trekked over to one of the many fields to watch some fireworks. There is also a mini golf course on this land. If you're looking for a getaway in the country-land of Kansas, this is definitely a place to consider! Seriously, I'm a self-proclaimed city girl, but this place made me want to consider living on a farm with acres of land, lol!

I was able to have my rehearsal dinner and my wedding at Fireflies Farm. They were incredibly accompanying to weather issues for the rehearsal dinner, and the staff worked to make sure I had no worries! The family suite for the bridesmaids and groomsmen gave me and my 8 bridesmaids plenty of room to relax, eat, and get ready! The caterer, TJ, provided excellent food and has so much expertise in large scale events. I would recommend Fireflies Farm to anyone who is seeking a high-class wedding experience with beautiful views.

There were many people from all over town and our little area here in New Longview. My wife and I live is Kessler Ridge, so we drove less than five minutes to get to the mansion. We have been on the grounds many times before, but this was the first time we were able to visit the interior of the house. It is impressive and fun. There were lots of little pop-up shops set up inside the mansion, all on the main floor and then in a tent that extended from a sunporch on the back of the house. That was by far the biggest area to shop. The rest of the little pop-up areas were small and cozy inside the house. The staff was lovely and serving drinks, wine and food. We only had one glass of wine so we could drive home safely. We loved walking around the house, which everyone who attended was allowed to do with no drama and no supervision. Everyone I saw was super respectful of the property. Everyone we encountered was kind. It was a lovely evening. I hope they do it again next year so we can go.

The staff here was very helpful, they were there when you needed them, but not so much that they were in your face all the time. Perfect balance. I had some burnt ends, and they were tasty. I expected to load up on those for the evening, but I decided to try the famous Kansas City rubs I had heard so much about. BAM! I get it now! These ribs put every BBQ rib I have had before now to shame. My tastebuds now understand what ribs should taste like. It was a magical cross between perfection and awesome. I ate until I was ready to split a seam. Absolutely incredible. If you can get yourself here, do it... the food is amazing!

It was an elegant, sophisticated venue for a wedding. There was plenty of parking too. It is hidden and you will drive through a neighborhood to find it. The staff are friendly and are always super responsive to my questions and needs. I have appreciated the audio/visual support since IT can be a headache if you don't have people who know what they're doing. I will continue to use the Ball Conf Center. I also like how a portion of event proceeds go to KVC which provides foster care and adoption for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

I've been to Creative Culture twice now, and loved it both times!…read more The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and answer questions clearly so there's no confusion about what to do or where to go. They also keep the space clean and organized, which is no easy feat given the nature of the business! The selection of crafts, while a bit pricey, is excellent. I've found that if it's in budget (you can find info on pricing on their website), you can find something fun for just about anyone. And regarding the price points, to me it does make sense given the cost of materials and labor involved. Whenever I go, I always leave room in my budget to add the suggested tip for the employees since they do such a great job and deserve to be paid well for it. Their specialty shakes are also AMAZING! Seriously, the price point they're at makes sense considering all of the extra goodies that are piled on top of the shake itself, and they're delicious! Just be sure to grab a napkin or two if you order one since it can get a bit messy. My one complaint, if I can even call it that, is that when it's especially busy it can be a bit cramped trying to walk around between the tables. That said, it's not bad enough for me to dock them a star since they use and manage their space well, and when I've been there people were generally conscientious of their surroundings which in turn reduced potential problems. All in all, Creative Culture is a bit pricey but very fun and well run! I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a unique place to go for a celebration, special occasion, or even just because. I can't wait to go again someday!

There was a 2-3 week wait for our clay painting pieces to get finished to pick up, but that's reasonable. Highly recommend this as a cute date or activity spot! It does get a little busy, and you may be sitting right next to people you don't know. But it didn't feel too cramped or crowded still, and it's perfect for chatting if you're up for it! And to add since this is something I often look up as well. LGBT friendly, we felt safe and comfortable.

They literally let us do whatever we wanted with the food and bar, along with the decor... it's a simple "barn style" set up with a neat ceiling and lights, and enough to probably have between 100-150 seated guests comfortably. It was clean and new feeling. The owner, Theresa, is very responsive. She made everything we did so easy to work with. The costs are not outrageous and this is really the perfect venue for anyone who wants to create their own event on top of a great "base" like the W. The ONLY thing I would say is that the parking situation is a little odd, but it's close to downtown Lawrence so street parking is accessible and there is an old church lot across the street.

Kids and I had a blast at BRKTHROUGH when we visited KC. Our group was me and my two sons (14,…read more12). At BRKTHROUGH, you compete in challenge rooms (there are 40 of them, although a couple were unavailable during our visit) - they last a minute or longer, and are categorized as Physical (requiring speed, agility, coordination, etc), Mental (brainpower, trivia, memory, and puzzle-solving), or Skill (precision, dexterity, patience). The descriptors above came from the BRKTHROUGH website, but I can confirm that they are descriptive of the challenges. The room type/difficulty is shown on a triangle, so they are often a combination of two items (for example, mostly physical with some skill-based components). Every room is scored based on your completion (or lack, thereof) out of 100 points. You can redo rooms as often as you like, keeping the highest score. Your team has an RFID wristband to enter the rooms. Your goal is to earn as many points as you can during the time period you paid for (we did 2 hours). Not only do you try to get your best score, there is a leaderboard to show how you are doing against the other teams in the building. You can earn a prize if you obtain a certain minimum score, or win against the other groups. Other than the boys arguing over strategies, we had a good time. Even with young kids, we were able to complete a lot of the rooms. There are plenty of rooms that could be completed by those with physical limitations, but obviously not all of them. We had a good time and the time flew by. There is also a bar and restaurant and a few games to play after your time is up. We had a blast and would definitely return again! , with live leaderboards tracking everyone in the building. You can read more about the activities or book your session on
