If I could give them less, I would . I never expected service to be worse than Lowe's, but it is. They had my lawn tractor for four weeks. It's a brand new tractor and it sounds like everything in the deck is coming out and they couldn't find anything wrong. Not once was I notified or updated I'm so glad that I didn't spend 30 K on a tractor this told me all I need to know if your wise stay away from them They tried to blame John Deere, but it didn't work. The way they do business!! First of all we bought a riding lawn mower for over $4000.00 in April last year. 2 wks ago it started smoking. They came to pick it up. They did not give us an option to take it in ourselves. We figured it was under warranty.Once they got it, they told us it would be 3 wks before anyone could look at it. We always house the lawn mower in the garage out of the weather. When my husband got there it had been sitting outside all that time. On the phone they told him it would cost him $214, that what they did wasn't under warranty. They changed the oil and sharpened the blades and charged him for the pickup. My husband always changed the oil in his lawnmowers, the blades didn't need sharpening and everything they did, they did not call us to approve! If it were your car the dealer checks with you before they do anything! Right? I agree a service charge for looking at it. But they charged for all of it without approval! I do believe we should get a refund. As far as the warranty goes, it does not say that after 10 hrs oil "must"be changed. It says recommended! Our last John Deere lasted us 13 years! My husband changed the oil and anything else that was needed. This dealer sucks!!! read more

Ian Farthing in the service department provided me customer service that is outstanding! They went above and beyond in picking up, servicing, and returning my mower. They have been slammed since November and did everything they could to get mine done and enable me to get my property mowed so the new grass does not go to seed- we planted a 5,000 sq foot wildflower meadow and that grass seed can ruin it so timing was everything! Horrible customer service. My wife stopped by to purchase coolant for my JD tractor. She stood at the service desk trying to get the attention of the two gentlemen work behind the counter. She got the attention of one employee and asked for help. The younger man motioned to her stating he was busy and would get to her in a few minutes. The employees continued to ignore her until an older customer walked by my wife and dropped a box on the counter. The younger employee turned around and started waiting on the older man, still ignoring my wife. This continued until an another employee walked in and assisted my wife with her purchase. This encounter lasted 20 to 25 minutes. Your customer service was unsatisfactory today, confirming my wife's option that she was ignored because of gender and the employees focus on serving the good ol boys club with special attention came first. read more

I drove 45 minutes to look at Meade's John Deere lawn tractors. I went in and asked the doofus behind the desk if I could look at their lawn tractor inventory, but he said what they had out front was all they had and that a salesman was out there to help me. I didn't see him. Then I decided to wander in the back fenced in area and saw they had a bunch of new lawn tractors. And I saw the "salesman" talking with a customer. I then went in and asked the doofus behind the desk the cost of the X330. Answer: "I don't give prices, ask the guy out front." The guy out back finally came in and told me he'd be "right with me." He was with a customer. We were the only two customers in the place. I waited for 20 minutes and left. Terrible service. Indifferent to customers. If I was the owner, I'd fire the staff that worked the Mills River, NC store. If the people who I met today are the owners, shame on you. read more

Purchased blades for my mowing deck. The blades were the wrong size. I cut the grass one time using these 48 inch blades on my 54 inch deck. Meade tractor refused to refund my money even though they sold me the wrong size blades. I will spread the word on this read more

I took my John Deere lawn tractor to Meade to have the carburetor cleaned. I already had most of the sheet metal removed because I had been replacing fuel lines and filters. When John from Service called he told me it would be between $300 and $400 to clean the carb. If that did not solve my problems a new carb would run $800 plus. I asked him to clean the old carb and let me know if that worked. Two weeks later I called them, because they did not even bother to contact me. I was told the mower was ready and the repair cost was $918. When I questioned this price Stacy said she would ask John if they could reduce the price due to the estimate he had given me originally. They reduced the price to $488. When I picked the mower up I was given a bag of bolts that they had not even put back in the tractor. They did not even bother putting the fuel pick up back in the reserve fuel tank. Some of the bolts they had re-installed were only partially installed and the front PTO still did not work even though I had asked them to check that out. I will be taking my mower to someone else to have the repairs completed! I will NEVER use Meade again!!! read more
