I was misgendered by the front desk staff immediately and I had to…read morecorrect them while they were taking notes as I was filing a complaint about the intake paperwork they make you do online, as you cannot give a complete, full medical history due to the fact that it has very limited answers and you can't write in your own; the fact I couldn't put down the medication I have a life threatening allergy to was especially alarming. I saw the medical assistant longer than I saw Cundiff and Cundiff didn't even bother to look at my throat or at my sinuses despite me saying my throat and sinuses hurt. This was a Friday and I was initially told that they'd call in a script for me, something I've taken before, because it should help the breathing trouble I was having. But, without notifying me, they changed that to an inhaler that my insurance didn't want to cover (and eventually 2 weeks later, they fully denied coverage of it). I had to call the on-call doctor, who was apparently in Arizona, to ask for what I was originally told they'd write a script for. I found out later that this on-call doctor, who I obviously was not examined by, "diagnosed" me with COPD. COPD has never been brought up by any doctor I've ever seen and, despite me telling Village Medical to remove this false diagnosis from my records, it's still there. The medication did not fix my breathing issues. The medical records they have show me taking that inhaler despite never even being able to pick it up. The level of communication with Cundiff, the clinic staff, and the regional management has been ridiculous. I would never recommend people going here. I picked Village Medical because they were supposed to be really queer and transgender friendly but they are not. The issues I had with being misgendered and the lack of compassionate care should really make anyone reconsider coming to any Village Medical center.

I asked did my doctor take my records with her? After many phoone calls it was worked out, but they insisted I was informed. I was not. I went for my yearly check up. The new doctor, who is very nice, asked me about how I was feeling. I told her I have seasonal alleries, but I had it taken care of. I told her what I was doing, and what I was taking. She said if I needed more help to reach out to her. That was it. They billed me $59.02 for that because seasonal allergies are not covered under the yearly check up. Now I know they go through everything word I say so they can code it and bill me, I will not go back. I was told if I don't like it, to take it up with my insurance company. This used to be a great practice. Since Village Medical took over it is horrible. I will never go back, and I will not recommend them to anyone.

Healing Arts Family Medicine - They're a bit off the beaten path. Look for their sign on the south side of HWY 34.

This practice is still our primary care practice. They have a new MD. Dr Junker. We all saw her…read morerecently for our annual physicals. They are STILL requiring masks in the buildling.... Just fyi. They are emailing paperwork beforehand to complete so that is nice. Be sure to put an email on file. They also do a text and phone reminder of appointments. You go in and check in. They are generally pretty prompt in getting you back. They are currently still taking a temp before taking you back. Dr Junker went through my medical history beforehand since i had not seen her. She seemed intuitive and asked a lot of good questions. She was very thorough. I appreciated the level of care. She also ran some bloodwork that hadn't been done before but she thought was good to check since i am vegan and have some autoimmune issues. I appreciated the thoroughness.

When I arrived for my visit the front desk collected my $125. Now *five* months later I get a bill for an additional $105!!! When I called to complain I was told that the $125 was only a "down payment"! And that their people were supposed to have informed me of this (they didn't). I was further told that they "can't do anything about it"... but they are sorry their staff didn't tell me that the $125 was only a down payment. They are outright lying. This is all a scheme to squeeze additional cash out of patients who have already paid. Whoever heard of a business that quotes a price for a service that is only a down payment? These people are sleazier than an unlicensed out-of-town roofing contractor after a hail storm. Stay away!!!!

Each time I saw him, he always had some derogatory remark about women, Hispanics or African Americans. When discussing an MRI on my back, he once told me that I was the "wrong color" to get disability (I am white). He also told me that he dabbled in dermatology and then pushed expensive derm products to me. I stopped seeing him when I was able to see a female clinician at a health clinic, but when she was unavailable, I was forced to see him again a year later for debilitating pain. He gave me a cortisone shot and did not tell me that it would not be billed through insurance. I was charged the full amount and when I questioned it, I was told, "there's a sign in the room" (which they refused to show me or let me take a picture of this "sign"). I then contacted my insurance and they told me that it was illegal for me to be charged without any submission to the insurance. I called the office and could not get a return call. They can expect a compliant through DORA.

No one at the nursing station, took over an hour to get a call light answered. Then Aaron the charge nurse yelled at myself and my sister in the hallway. He was trying to state the rules but in the rudest and unprofessional way, his face was bright red and clearly already in an agitated state. My father was in a serious accident and we as family are stressed and sleep deprived, I would think that a nurse would have the professionalism to speak to families in a respectful and caring way. Aaron did not, as someone who works in health care, I would never have someone like Aaron representing my facility. My father's call light was on for over an hour and no one came in, but Aaron is concerned about how many people are in the room, and that I did try to go through an door that someone excited that was connected to the unit, but did not. I did not think it was that big of an issue since the doors go to the same unit, however do understand why it would be an issue. Aaron could have approached the situation in a more professional way and spoken to myself and my sister like adults and not children. I am even more concerned that a nurse would show his agitation towards a family, how are the patients treated? Does he get irritated with them? I am also concerned that I was told I would be kicked out and not be allowed back, so now feel I cannot bring up concerns. The one is only due to the step down unit. The trauma unit and ICU would get 5. However, one person can ruin something.

Credit to the attending physician's assistant, who made the right diagnosis: BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo). Basically it's crystals rattling around in your inner ear where they're not supposed to be. A physical therapist was supposed to treat it. Instead, he did his own tests and decided that it wasn't BPPV because BPPV is supposed to be brief. So no treatment, only a recommendation to see an ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat doc). This all took 5-1/2 hours, and then my wife was sent home. Her vertigo resumed on the way home and continued the next day. So, I watched a total of 3 YouTube videos, then did my own Dix-Hallpike test, which was positive for a problem with her right ear. She did the Epley Maneuver, and it fixed her vertigo (several days now, no more symptoms). We'll be getting a large bill from the hospital, but they didn't fix anything. Instead engaging in side quests, they should focus exclusively on hiring the best people, training them well, and delivering high quality medical care at reasonable cost.
