It's taken time and various treatments, but I find the practitioners here are up to date on the latest treatments, and willing to change strategy when the desired results are not achieved. I've seen other dermatologists before, and not all of them will talk to you about how to properly apply your skincare and sunscreen, and which products you use. The story concludes with me going to the Emergency room, after a week of not eating or drinking or being able to hold anything down with a dr that can look me straight in the eye and tell me I don't have cancer. Took him literally 5 minutes. I will literally never be back. If they are the last place I will youtube, google and chatgpt it and do it myself or have someone that I can instruct how to do it. I almost did that in the first damn place. Thanks for almost being better than having no access to medical care. I mean, if a guy was holding a gun to your head and saying "i am going to kill you" over and over again that would be torture. Being in a position of what is supposed to be a respected place of authority, dicking you around on whether you have cancer, you pay 200$ a visit regardless of whether anything besides getting you dicked around gets accomplished. As a long time patient at MD Skin Center, I have been very pleased with all the clinical services I have received over the years. However, I went there two days ago to buy some products from their store. I chose three items, took them to the desk to purchase, paid, and left. When I got home, I noticed I picked up one wrong item. I wanted a day and night moisturizer and accidently purchased a sunscreen moisturizer. I had not opened it. The box is still sealed. I brought it back the next day to exchange it for what I needed and I was told very abruptly and rudely that "All Sales are Final". Fine, terrible policy, but I also have no idea what I paid for the product. They don't give you an itemized receipt. Only the total. No prices on the products. Another terrible policy. Just sour grapes from me but I will never purchase another item from their store. read more

Our primary doctor referred us to MD Skin and today we were told that the surgery (recommended at Mayo Clinic) could not be scheduled until a consult happened. Dr. Stenstrom is absolutely wonderful. She embodies everything you hope a doctor to be and then some. Kind. Attentive. Thorough. Extremely knowledgeable. She has helped me manage several issues with absolute confidence. I can not tell you how many dermatologists I have been to prior to finding this gem of a doctor. Her note taking alone is perfection. A couple of years ago I paid for a treatment in excess of $1,000 but the esthetician forgot to do part of the facial treatment. When I pointed that out to her that day, she offered to give me back $500 or leave the money on my account for use later. I elected to leave it with Stenstrom. My thought being, I was in there often enough to use it quickly. I have tried to use it a couple of times but they refused me. Today I made an issue of it. They told me that I would have to speak to the office manager, who appeared in a few minutes and who turned out to be Dr Stenstrom. Since there were people in the waiting room, she invited me to her office to discuss the matter. She told me that they could not issue a refund because their office is using multiple billing systems for different services. I asked to see a signed contract that would not allow me to get my unused money back. I was denied. I asked to see a picture of my face before and after. I was denied that, also. In the best business speech, Dr Stenstrom told me that she had a business to run; I explained to her that I too ran a business and had discovered that it's best to always do the RIGHT thing. She has my money. The business manager called me this afternoon telling me that they will give me half of my money back. I was steamy. She was rude and told me that the conversation had ended. Being stubborn and frustrated, I told her that I would end it and said bye. I will never enter that office again and I feel like the whole process is merely a fraud. I paid. My experience was worse than terrible. It was the nightmare you have the night before a medical procedure coming true. I went to Renee the esthetician for chemical peel in March. Paid for the best peel and I didnt peel. I called them and they offered to redo the peel. I've had several peels at other offices and I always peel with no problem. I disnt do the redo chemical peel and went in for laser hair removal before the redo peel. She burned my skin. Went I left my skin was on fire. I had to go back and a dermatologist gave a worthless cream. I have scars on my face and it still hurts. This is supposed to be the best in town based on reviews. Dr Stenstrom is very competent and able. Had an appt recently to have my annual checkup. All that was needed was to use the nitrogen spray on several non cancerous lumps on my head. When I pointed out to her the several areas that I felt were needed, she suddenly became very upset - even angry - and seemingly very reluctantly and casually dealt with them. Bad hair day?? I don't know - it is just not on to have to deal with such an attitude!! I won't be back! It may be that she feels she is not compensated enough by our insurance - But I believe she received around $180 for the15 minute appt.!! read more

Referred to MD Skin Center by my PCP for basal cell removal. Took over a month to get an appointment for my initial consultation. I arrived 30 minutes early to complete my new patient paperwork. 90 minutes later, I still hadn't been seen with no explanation. Yet, I watched an MD meet with a drug rep (with no appointment) for 15 minutes in the waiting room. I walked out. The nurse called me & reprimanded me for leaving without being seen. I expressed my frustration & was told they had an emergency. Really? A skin emergency? Apparently, nobody told the MD that had time to chat with the drug rep while patients with appointments were waiting to be seen! read more
