The fact that the place has always seemed busy everytime I pass it gave me confidence that the place was probably half decent, and given that this small independent salon boasts 6 seats and each seems perpetually full, this seemed a good sign. I wasn't disappointed. An impromptu call in saw them willing to accommodate me within an hour (which was fine) and a wet cut with one of the two guys who own and operate the place cost me £25 which felt like a pretty good deal given the excellent service that I received, the tasty cappucino that I enjoyed whilst being seen, and the quality of cut I received. The place is also affiliated with 'Beauty in Elyssium', an in-house beauty salon run within the same building, and I look forward to trying them out at some point. To the rest customers she charges inflated prices, which they are Not the prices that she states on her price list. At the same time while she blows dries customers hair, she leaves the customer's blow dry half way through UNDONE, in order to blow dry another's woman hair who it happened to be from the same country as her. The salon owner; Simin was insisted to use hair straighteners while my hair was still wet. As a result she burnt my hair and she caused them to be frizzy and in an awful condition. She always run out of products to apply on hair. And she Never provides a receipt. She insists for cash on hand, that she charges different prices each time. Avoid this hair salon if you do not want your hair to end up with a bad hair cut and with burnt hair.

I see Kirsty for my hair appointments, she is bright and bubbly but also feisty refusing to do anything to my hair that she doesn't think would suit me or do my hair any good. She told me she would rather turn someone away than do something that would ruin their hair and I love that about her. Conversation is genuine, there are no weird awkward silences or stereotypical 'are you going away this year' type banter and she always remembers things you have said from the last visit. It is like going to see an old friend. I visited last Friday afternoon to have my ombre colour refreshed and the old greys covered. She also dried my hair with a blow wave taking the time to make sure it looked perfect before I left. The price of this was £40 and, considering the exceptional service, I feel this is a bargain. I'm not even a person who is very particular about their hair, I just kept having lacklustre cuts, and also having bad luck with decent hairdressers moving salons, or even moving cities. I booked a last minute appointment with Olivia on a whim in August last year when I had the afternoon off work, based on little else other than that they're close by and had appointments available. I was in a total rut with my hair at the time and Olivia was really helpful and enthusiastic in helping me decide on a new style. I've been back every six weeks or so since and I'm still really happy with the service and the quality of the cut every time. I get compliments on my hair after I've been, every time without fail, so that's got to be a good sign. You can book online, which is great for someone like me who cannot ever be bothered to pick up the phone unless forced. They also have a great range of products on sale, but I never feel like I'm getting the hard sell on anything, i.e. I bought some wax one time (actually v affordable at around £10) but haven't felt pressured to buy anything else. This is in stark contrast to other salons I've been to where they've tried to convince me that there's just no point having hair unless I pay through the nose for a product I'll never use. It's not the cheapest around, at £38 for a cut & finish, but I think it's great value for what I get. Would definitely recommend booking here for a haircut.
