Michael and MD Concrete Creations we're great! They did our garage and patio and it turned out fantastic. Michael was super communicative and eager to make sure we were happy. We would highly recommend them.

Storage room at the Lakeway Activity Center

Since I work at a city facility, larger jobs are required to be bid out by several companies prior to awarding the project. Michael with MD Concrete was the lowest bidder. He was friendly and responsive and answered all my questions and provided input to help me make informed decisions. Working with him was pleasant and he was able to work around our busy facility schedule. They did three large storage rooms, 2 large closets, the kitchen floor and a washroom. The attention to detail was great. (The closets were an epoxy finish, the kitchen was a non-slip product). As we have 5000-6000 people come through our doors each month, we are constantly moving chairs and tables in and out of the large storage closets and the commercial style kitchen is always busy with rentals and caterers...so lots of wear and tear. We love how attractive the floors look and especially their durability.

If you are considering a new garage floor, whatever you do don't make the mistake I did in using MD Concrete Creations. My floor looks just awful and there is nothing I can do to clean it. The dirt and tire marks are impregnated in the material due to short cuts taken when the floor was laid. The worst part is the owner of the company, despite all his claims on the website, will not return calls, texts or respond to emails. He clearly knows he did a very poor job on this floor and will not stand by his work. Look elsewhere for your garage floor!!

    Commercial grade garage epoxy

Michael Davenport did an excellent job applying epoxy in our garage. I got his name off of a local FB page, and he had the lowest price of three bids. Michael communicated expectations at the beginning and was very clear on making sure we were getting the color we wanted. He was on time, and did an beautiful job on application. There were some minor issues with our electrical box and hose bib that we were unaware of, since it's a new house. He worked around, got the job done on time, and communicated everything we as homeowners needed to know.

This is after 4 months, initially looked good. When I noticed this owner would not fix and told me to find someone else.

Initially the concrete stain looked good, but after four months wear marks started to show. Owner was not very responsive and then after agreeing it should t look like that, told me to find someone else. Worst customer service ever.

I'm so glad I went with them! I have an old metal roof that needed repairs, and I did not want to be upsold on a new roof. I just wanted the repairs done well--and that is exactly what George Senior delivered. He's incredible and really knows roofs. I had five different projects that needed attention, and he handled each one beautifully. The quality of his work exceeded my expectations, and on top of that he was such a kind, professional person to work with. When he walked me through the finished results, it was even better than I could have imagined. The price was more than fair. His son George was also wonderful, helping coordinate everything and making the process totally smooth and painless. It was a huge relief to feel like I was in good hands the entire way. If you're looking for honest, skilled roofing work--especially if you want quality repairs without unnecessary upselling--I can't recommend them enough!

First, they showed up and evaluated my roof job and took loads of pictures to explain it. Then they bid and gave me a fair price and timely schedule. Five stars don't do them justice! Thank you.

They handled the full transformation: Texas native plants, fresh sod, irrigation, lighting, a new patio with poured concrete pavers, a pergola, and decking built around our above-ground pool. The result feels intentional, cohesive, and well suited to both the climate and how we use the space. We worked with their designers to develop the plan, and that process was smooth and collaborative. They listened, had good instincts, and were happy to iterate with us until the design felt right. From first contact to breaking ground took about three months, which felt reasonable given the scope. Once construction started, everything moved fast--the entire project was completed around two to three weeks. Most importantly, we're extremely happy with the outcome. The yard is beautiful and dramatically more usable than before. Jason and Nikk were a pleasure to work with throughout: friendly, proactive, communicative, with good taste and a strong sense for design. I'd happily recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their outdoor space.

While all the companies, including Southern Landscaping and Design, were nice and responsive, I feel the need to share our experience regarding their pricing. The quotes we received from the first three companies ranged between $9,000 and $11,000, which seemed reasonable for the scope of work. However, Southern Landscaping and Design came back with a quote of just over $28,000--nearly three times the amount of the other bids. I'm sure they do great work, but this level of pricing feels excessive and difficult to justify. I wanted to share this as a heads-up for anyone considering them. It's always worth getting multiple quotes to ensure you're paying a fair price.

Honestly the work is good...as it should be from a master plumber…read more The issue I have is the issue I've had with literally every plumber ever. They've got you over a barrel when they come out and start throwing parts. This was an install of a drop in kitchen sink and faucet. He told me his hourly rate was 135 bucks. I was expecting to spend about 400 maybe 500. The final bill was 850. I feel I was overcharged on both the parts and labor. He charged me starting 45 min before he got there but still included a "truck charge." The removal and replace of the sink took 2 hours. To me the "clock" starts on the labor at the agreed upon arrival time. When I'm getting charged 439(!) bucks for parts on top of the sink and faucet itself, that extra charge for labor is quite unwelcome. I mean the sink and faucet itself that were "nice" were like 500 bucks. So almost that again just in parts. ‍ His answer in general as I look at these reviews is that he buys his parts from a plumber supply not Home Depot etc. I would have to research each individual part to see if its price point is "fair". A perusal of solid brass fittings and pvc p traps on the Lowe's site shows the price I paid was about doubled. He acted quite insulted that I wouldn't know just how much better his parts were and implied they were all but unavailable at big box stores. literally doubling what I expected to pay was quite a shock to say the least. It is what it is. If I was able to do it myself, I would've. Live and learn Learn a trade kids lol

Here's the gist of what I learned: about half of the contractors are honest.. they make the process fun and are a real pleasure to deal with; the other half are dishonest... they string you along, make the process a hassle, and are a real pain. Chris (the owner) and his team are a shining example of what great contractors SHOULD be. For starters, Chris is an extremely kind and responsive person. From my first phone call with him (he showed up the same-day, on a SUNDAY) to my projects completion day.. he always responded quickly, was extremely polite, and very thorough. (He never gives you those weak 2-word text responses like lesser contractors). Chris helped me design my deck and pick out the best materials for my needs. He used a 3D rendering software that shows you exactly how your deck is going to look in your backyard. It was actually really cool, and helped me make some tweaks to the design before starting construction. After signing my contract, his crew showed up the very next morning. These guys were absolute studs. They worked their butts off from 8am - 6pm every day until the job was complete... wow! Many days I work from home, so I was able to watch them. They didn't rush their work, they were very calculated and meticulous about doing the job the right way (a marathon not a sprint mentality). This doesn't mean they're slow, it means they care about the details and doing things right. His crew also isn't a bunch of 20 year old rookies playing on their phones either. These guys all look to be in their mid 30's and early 40's. Men with lots of experience.. they have families to feed, work extremely hard, and know what they're doing. The craftsmanship was phenomenal. The engineering very structurally sound. The design is beautiful and actually has my neighbors giving compliments. Anytime there was an issue during the project (and there weren't many), Chris and his crew fixed it immediately like it was no problem at all. Easy peasy. Chris did what he said he was going to do, when he said he was going to do it, and charged me what he said he was going to charge. Actually.. he went above and beyond what he said he was going to do, he made improvements to the project beyond what was promised, and even gave me a discount at the very end because of a few minor details.. which he didn't have to do. I didn't complain and I didn't request a discount...that's just the kind of guy he is. Incredible. I'm going to mention one last thing I was going to leave out but I think it's important. Every morning before work began, Chris gathers his crew and they do a group prayer together. They ask each other what's going on in their personal lives, and what they can pray for each other about. Then they read a short scripture out loud together, and they start their day. Unbelievably cool. Why do they call themselves Sasquatch? Because these guys are freaking beasts. This is one of those rare experiences where I had a feeling it was going to go well, and it turned out even better than I had imagined. There's a reason why they have so many 5 star reviews. If you're looking to have a deck built in Austin I'm going to help you... skip the weak fluff and go with Sasquatch.
