The one thing I love about a store like this is the staff that is hired, as everyone here, for the times I have been here, know exactly what they are talking about, and are willing to accomodate to what you are looking for. What is really great, even though they have other stores, is this one has 'online' inventory, so you could make your purchases online, and go pick them up, or have them delivered to your house. Talking to one of the staff members, they say that the online site updates 3-4 times a day, so it is best to call before placing your order, but this is using technology to the fullest. They have more of the wine's you would not see in the other stores, and a selection that is vast. You can also come here for their weekly tastings, and also buy everything geared up to wine, from the decanters, to the openers to the glass wear. A good little walk into this wine haven, and you may be a little empty in the pocket when you are all done, but it will be well worth it.

They still have some of the generic stuff for people that are only looking for that but it is not what most go there for. There is a large selection of wines here as the name would suggest for all peoples tastes from red to white and even sparkly (and that is the extent of my knowledge of wine). They are very proud of their extensive collection of Whiskeys here. Whiskeys of all prices, sizes and ages to make even the biggest whiskey snow smile! Being that I am a Craft Beer snow I am drawn here by their ever growing selection of craft beer in both 6+ can and bottle packs to 650ml bombers. Recently they have started a new partnership with a local North Vancouver Brewery called Bridge Brewing Company. Bridge Brewing Co only sells their beer by the Growler or Keg but have odd hours as the owners have day jobs. Being open only Fridays and Saturdays it is not always easy to stop in. Here is where Edgemont has stepped in. They have started a Growler Exchange Program with Bridge brewing. You bring in your Bridge Brewing Growler and they will exchange it with a full cold 1.89L growler for you to take home at nearly the same price as the brewery itself. If you do not own a growler they will sell you one for $7 dollars on top of your first purchase (It would be $5) from the brewery. This is some of the freshest beer you can buy as it is packaged in a growler and sold very quickly. It will not sit on the shelves for extended periods of time. #30DaysOfYelp 8/30

I particularly like buying Molson Canadian as I'm not usually a huge fan of wine or any other alcohol besides the occasional beer. And I generally don't like going to bars as I usually ended up going alone which feels kind of depressing in my experience. As a Liquor chain store, their prices are slightly lower then what you normally would find at a local independent Liquor store. Lastly, I like BC Liquor chain stores because they usually ask for ID, which would help prevent underage kids from buying liquor and whatnot.

Walked up to front door where Manager and server are loudly discussing that she can't be paid more than the other servers. A waitress served adjacent table 3x but did not take a drink order from our table so had to walk to bar to get a drink. After mediocre dinner with no quality check, our plates sat empty on table for 1/2 hour with no service so back to the bar to request the table be cleaned. Ten minutes later still no service so I carried dishes to the bar myself! Bartender says 'oh, thank you' and takes plates. Then we sat at table finished drinks - left after 10 mins. Not a word from manager or any staff - seriously this happened - what a train wreck. We left and went to Queens Cross and had a good service/time!

Throughout the playoffs the Pemby was standing room only with drink specials, music bingo, and pucks handed out with players' numbers so if your Canuck scored you won a free beer. I happened upon Sam from Bluenote Wine and Spirits during a Yelp Elite event at Hapa Coal Harbour…read more He was showcasing his wares and I had the pleasure of sampling two of his sakes. The Momo Kawa Junmai Ginjo craft sake is made traditionally, and has a strong slightly heavy flavour. It would be delicious slightly warmed. The absolute hands-down summertime winner was the Yoshi No Gawa Goku-jo sake. Light, fruity, slightly floral. Dangerously drinkable. Perfect for sitting on a patio on a warm summer evening! Going to go out and buy this! Both were delicious, and Sam's descriptions were very accurate. I will definitely make my way over and visit to see what else they've got!

So, the salt/peppered haired elderly woman seemed to think she was back in high school chatting it up with her crush while she was ringing him through, and of course he had one or 5 drinks before stumbling into the liquor store and just didn't care there was a line up. She as an employee of the business should've cared. I waited, and waited and waited and finally, since I was in a rush had to ask politely to be rung through. I just wasn't in the mood to pretend to enjoy a boozey, geriatric, nonsensical flirtation session. No-offence. Well.....She turned to me glaring and said, "Well, I'm working too!" and continued to ignore me while I finally paid and left. Bottom Line: Right....why I will never give them my business. This particular BC Liquor Store always acts and feels like a run-down dive bar. No professional etiquette, no integrity, no service. There's a customer service counter where you can order large quantities of liquor and they quickly pulled up the number of available bottles in the store. We purchased 27 bottles and they efficiently packed it all up for us under five minutes. Overall a great customer service experience and a wide assortment of wine, beer and spirits. The store itself is very well organized and clean. The location right by our party venue made it all the more convenient!
