The…read moreoffice as open and judging from the emptiness of the waiting room, I wasn't taking anyone else's place, but still, kudos for them seeing me. Unfortunately, that's where my graciousness ends. While the staff was friendly and helpful, Dr. Luxl himself was not what I'd call a 'warm' person with a gentle bedside manner. The (very expensive) veneer on one of my front teeth had broken off on the trip, a result of my bad finger-nail biting habit. It came off in one piece, so I thought bonding it back on would be a no brainer. The fact I was recently uninsured had me particularly nervous. Two hours in Dr. Luxl's office, most of it in a chair, and the absolute, raw drama he went through on telling me how the veneers just don't work, how I would need to do them all over again, how he just didn't know if he could bond this back on, yadda yadda yadda. I was literally sweating with anxiety and fear in this man's chair from his stammering and fussing over how he just didn't think he could do this. At one point, I became SO angry, I was about to take the little veneer from his hand, give him a four-letter word goodbye and head to the nearest convenience store for a tube of super glue. What Dr. Luxl lacks in bedside manner, he equals in gross self consciousness with any hint of concern for his patients' comfort and well being. In the end, he bonded the veneer on, insisting I would eventually bite into a sandwich to see it crumble. Its been six month, the veneer is still there and I think Dr. Luxl should have had more faith in himself and his craft. So, thanks to Dr. Luxl's office for seeing me, and to Dr. Luxl for FINALLY putting my veneer back on; but I'm afraid I'll never go back unless I want the torture I experienced that February day.

Then, 4 weeks later, I received a bill. I contacted Dr. Luxl's office to express my concerns and needless to say they wrote it off as being my responsibility, not theirs, to check with insurance to see what I'm covered for. Like an idiot, I still returned for a procedure a few weeks later. With zero warning whatsoever, I was told the good Doc hit a nerve in my mouth. Next thing I knew, my face ballooned to the size of a softball and was significantly bruised. It took 4 weeks to heal. I missed work, could not eat and was never even told this as a remote possibility. The explanation? this has only happened to a few times in all of his years as a dentist. great, thanks doc. that comment was very comforting as I was on a soup diet for weeks. How did it happen? I must not have opened my mouth wide enough. bedside manner at its finest. and how long would it take to heal? oh, he couldn't say. that is outside of his realm of expertise. He told me I was numb enough and I didn't need more and I could "let him know if it hurts and then he would stop and numb me more". Yes, I know I should have gotten up and left by now but I allowed him to proceed because I needed the tooth out. When he started to pull my tooth, I felt the pain immediately and I finally told him to stop, I'm done. I got up and left with my mouth inadequately numbed and my painful tooth still not out. Absolutely horrible experience. I'm giving this dentist 1 out of 5 stars because I don't have the option to give him the 0 stars that he deserves.

This is the type of service when I wish I could add MORE stars!…read more I have undergone many (sadly, too many) gum procedures in the last 5 years with multiple periodontists and NONE of them the even came close to Dr. Sierakowski's professionalism, friendliness, and technique. In fact, Dr. Sierakowski recently performed a procedure on an area I've had to do 3 times already (ugh!) and this is by far the most confident I have been in a successful outcome. Most of the procedures I've experienced before left me spitting blood for about 48 hours, not being able to speak, major swelling, and let's not go into my severe hangry phases from not being able to physically eat! However, Dr. Sierakowski's procedure was clean and virtually painless - I kid you not, no pain killers needed!!
