    Wonderful experience! I was looking for a mom and pop type of garage and this fit the bill. I heard a lot of good things about Mcphersons when I was asking around town about them specifically. Honestly I never heard a bad thing. From the start communication was wonderful! The car was due for a state inspection, and oil change. While there I found out I needed new brake pads. No complaints here. The car had 100,000 miles on it and I knew we would have been getting close because I think this was the first time she needed brake pads. My bill was under $350. Very reasonable and fair. I had many interactions with different staff via phone and they were always extremely helpful especially answering my questions. They never seemed annoyed answering my questions. I plan to return for our second car. We may have found our spot.

I…read moredon't feel that anyone has tried to up-sell me, or have me do unnecessary repairs to my vehicle. The turn around time is very reasonable. I noticed too that even when Bobby, the owner, isn't in the shop, his employees still check-in on me while I am waiting for me work to be done. The last time I was there, I had to wait half an hour or so for a part to come in. While that employee was taking care of that, another one came and asked me if I was doing okay and being helped. That's really good service, and it's nice that he thought to do that even while his boss was not there to see that. I don't know if they still offer this, but when I first starting using Leading Edge Auto last year, they offered a warranty through TechNet (which I did use once.) Definitely my mechanic of choice.

They recommended an excellent towing service and took our car in the same evening, after hours. It's a foreign car, so it took a couple of days getting parts, but they expedited the repairs and we were back on the road in two days. The owner, Zach, was very friendly, respectful, thorough, and was great about communicating the ongoing status of the repairs. Overall, we were extremely pleased and would highly recommend this repair shop.

    Finding a good and trustworthy auto shop is always tricky. After doing some research, I took my…read morecar here and was thankful for such a quick appointment. Making an appointment was fast and easy and customer service was great up to this point. So far so good. I made my appointment for 8am for a diagnostic and was told i could expect to hear something back around noon. After not hearing anything, I called close to 1pm and was told my car was next for service. When 4pm came around and I didn't hear anything I called again only to find out my car still wasn't looked at. At this point I was told to expect my car to be kept overnight but only because I asked about it. I was pretty frustrated considering I had an early appointment, all I needed was a diagnostic and for the simple fact I had to call for all updates not to mention having to now coordinate a ride home. I called again first thing in the morning and was then told I would have answers around 9. I was convinced then that my car wasn't looked at, at all the day prior. I did get a call shortly after 9 and I was apologized to and did get the answers I needed on my car. When I picked up my car, they were super apologetic and assured me this was not the normal way they conducted business. Because of the inconvenience, I was not charged for the diagnostic. While I was thankful, I was really disappointed with my whole experience. I understand things happen but good communication makes all the difference. Maybe my case was really just a one off, but this trip made me want to take my business elsewhere.

    I honestly didn't realize that this service center was still in operation, and I've lived one block…read moreaway for over seven years! (Apparently they used to be a gas station long before my time) I Googled car repair centers, and the results included Childress Service Center. My repair was very minor and they had me in and out in 15 minutes flat! The woman I spoke to on the phone prior to my visit was so friendly. When I spoke with her in person she explained that the repair center is a family business, and she is the fourth generation! I thought that was pretty cool, and I love supporting small, local businesses. If I ever need a more serious repair, I will likely use Childress because of the awesome customer service. (I did meet one gruff, unfriendly mechanic when I pulled in, but hey - as long as their work is solid‍)

    We towed our Honda Pilot to Childress a few months ago after it broke down in C'ville. Said it…read moreneeded new spark plugs. Never really idled well and cut off several times after. Took it back and they said nothing was showing as wrong. Broke down again in Richmond and towed it to a better shop in Virginia Beach who told us the wrong plugs were installed and charged us half the price. Childress didn't own the fact they put on the wrong part and refused a refund. Got a lot of ego. Called to replace a window and insulted my husband when he just needed a simple repair. They don't come to the door when you arrive. They have terrible customer service and they don't own their mistakes. Go somewhere else better and save money with people who do want your business.
