I had done my research and I was ready to install them myself, but I needed some help getting the 3rd "common" wire hooked up down in the basement. When he arrived, he put on shoe covers to keep my floors clean and immediately got to work. After inspecting the current thermostat wires, he concurred with my assessment (should be an easy job). However, when he went to the basement, he found the the previous installer had done something strange, and spliced the wire somewhere behind the wall only extending TWO of the three wires (which explained why I couldn't find the third wire). Now HERE is what made Gibson so awesome... rather than talk me into doing the extra work of finding the hidden wires (which now would take significantly longer and be more costly), he recommended I buy a different model of Wi-Fi thermostat which could operate with the existing wiring and which I could install myself. To top it all off, he didn't even charge me for the visit. Ultimately I ended up buying and installing the other model of thermostat myself and his advice saved me a bunch of money. I feel bad I didn't end up using him because he was so friendly, trustworthy and helpful, but his business card is now taped to my boiler and he'll be my go-to guy moving forward.

This man came at 930 at night--when most people would've already been home in bed, and said I'm going to keep my word and I told you I would come so if it's still okay and not too late I'm 10 mins away.... He showed up; Diagnosed everything, gave us a temp fix overnight, sent me a quote (since we needed a new system), then called me the next morning to tell me he found the equipment for slightly less and got me an even lower price! And is replacing the unit the next day. Wow... aside from being super professional, he was honest and very knowledgeable. I had two other quotes done out of due diligence (which I do for every big job or contract work), and he also gave us the best pricing. So I would highly, highly recommend John and his company. And I'm so glad we found him. We will definitely be using him for any HvAC needs going forward.

In 2018 just prior to a really hot and extremely humid July 4th holiday weekend my Mitsubishi A/C…read morestopped working. With each visit by my local HVAC outfit things were continuing to spiral out of control. Each guy they sent to solve whatever the problem was appeared as if it was their very first service call. Yes that's right, on the job training experimenting with my $12,000 almost brand new 3 year old state of the art computerized Mitsubishi! Finally, I had enough!! I began searching for a new HVAC company. I remembered that my family had been using Comfort Control in East Northport N.Y., but was told that normally they would not travel to Nassau County. I called and spoke with Samantha. I explained what I had been dealing with for well over a week and that I really needed help. She said since my family were longtime customers they would come over and have a look. The next day a gentlemen named Anthony showed up. I explained what had previously been done which included bypassing Mitsubishi's internal water pump and jury-rigging the computer board to force the fan to blow warm air even though the unit had shut itself down. Anthony got on the phone with Mitsubishi and began to attempt to first undo the damage which had been done. He was calm, professional and courteous and explained to me he'd get to the bottom of this. After about 2 hours he did just that!! He then began to troubleshoot what the real problem was. This didn't take much time as he discovered a clogged drain pipe and explained one of the first things any company should look for is just that!! He then blew the drain pipe clean using pressurized air. So for well over a week I was sweating my ass off because the local idiots couldn't think to try that first along with charging me hundreds upon hundreds of dollars, which I did get back thanks to a comprehensive report that Anthony wrote up for me to show them. I will always remember and be grateful that Comfort Control bailed me out of a very frustrating situation. Fast forward to Tuesday Aug 25, 2020 and my Mitsubishi shut down for the first time since back in 2018. Called the local outfit and insisted they send one of their two senior technicians. On Friday Aug 28, 2020 they responded and were not quite sure what exactly was going on however they were able to get the unit working again. I got right on the phone with Samantha and explained that I really do not have much confidence in the locals and could she send someone over to give me a second opinion. She said if the unit shuts down again she would do her best to accommodate me. I want to emphasize that over approximately a 40-year period I have used more than a half-dozen HVAC businesses in my area and discovered the hard way that each one is worse than the next and that finding a really good one is nearly impossible. Comfort Control is just that. I cannot say enough good things about Samantha, her father Bill, and Anthony. Besides all that they are just very nice folks who have helped myself and my family with all sorts of referrals having nothing to do with heating and cooling. After requesting quotes on Yelp, I got a slew of phone calls from different companies asking if I wanted to make an appointment for an estimate. At 8pm, Nick called and instead of pitching himself to do the repair, he gave us some suggestions as to what the problem could be and how to fix it. Following Nick's suggestion, we made a quick trip to Home Depot, bought the $40 piece, replaced the broken piece. The fix took less than ten minutes and just as Nick had said, the furnace was working again! Never, in my 29 years of home ownership, has a service person ever turned down an opportunity for a job that probably would've cost several hundred dollars (not including the initial diagnostic fee)!! Nick showed himself to be a stand-up guy who wasn't just looking to make a buck off me. And if in the future, I have any other HVAC needs, Nick will be the first person I call. Cunningham quoted me significantly lower than other companies and the workers were great. I recently had them come back to do a repair on my thermostat, and while they were here we discovered an issue with my heating system. Will and Rob came and were quick and very friendly. The tech wrote on the invoice that they would be back in 2 days. That day came and nobody reached out or showed up so I called the office. I didn't hear back for almost 2 hours and I was told they were actually coming the following day. I waited again and Chris said IF he gets to me, it would be late in the day. Again, nobody showed up or contacted me. Meanwhile, I was emptying buckets of water every few hours and could not be away from my house long in case the buckets filled up. The next day I called a competitor and they came within a few hours. I'm really disappointed in the lack of communication. If you didn't want to do the work or couldn't get to it, you could have just told me.
