I had a very positive experience with Eric Haag. He was recommended by a trusted estate lawyer in…read moretown for a case affecting a family member of mine, and he achieved a very good negotiated outcome in the timeframe he indicated in our first meeting. He set accurate expectations, and was consistently decent, straightforward, and efficient throughout. In the end, he even discounted his negotiated fees just a bit, again, as he said at the outset he had done before. Still, that was unexpected and appreciated, and I don't know of any other personal injury lawyer who would have done as much. I hope that I never have another personal injury case, but if I did, I wouldn't hesitate asking for help from Eric again.

Don't be disturbed by the fly-by-night appearance of their office, Beckett Tax is totally legit…read more When you walk in you might think you're in the wrong place - there's a large and mostly empty room with some kids tables and card tables with games and toys. On one wall there is a door with a taped-on Beckett Tax sign. Head in here to let them know you've arrived, then take a seat in the waiting area. I'm honestly a little surprised that the spaces aren't flipped; the office area is very cozy and doesn't offer much privacy. Spaced out cubes in the larger area would make sense but since it's a temporary, seasonal set-up so cubes might not make sense for moving around. After some basic questions over email with Beth, I was paired up with Katie for my appointment. Katie was super friendly, efficient, and answered any questions I had. I had made the appointment because my usually trusty tax software couldn't handle my stock info but Katie entered it in a few quick strokes. I probably should have asked what number in the multiple printouts was relevant for future reference, but I can always ask next year. $120 for peace of mind seemed like a decent trade-off. The staff seems very tight-knit and everyone had a smile on their face despite being in the crush of tax season. Staff camaraderie is always a good sign. I appreciated the advice from Katie and she found a couple things I'd missed taking advantage of last year. Sticking with a small, local firm kept my costs down and left me feeling treated like a person instead of a group of numbers.

Roman…read morecommitted a criminal act in my presence; I rode with her to my first court hearing and she hit a parked car while she was parking then proceeded to say as we were walking away "I'm going to Pretend like I didn't do that" I would never have assumed a lawyer could be capable of such disregard and shameless conduct. She said things to me such as "Please just sign the document and stop trying to add or change language" I never received a thank you, any inquires if was satisfied with services rendered etc. At no point in time did I feel like Attorney Roman negotiated in my name or on my behalf, advise or represent me efficiently in court, and before the GAL, communicate effetely, proficiently, or professionally, conduct research into the information provided to her and analyze provided information, nor did she interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for me to understand or advocate for me whatsoever. Attorney Roman certainly had no problem taking my money and, in my opinion, charging me for the same thing over and over i.e., going over the same emails and attached documents she had previously charged me for going over, she also had no problem charging me for all the "work" she had to do after her self-admitted mistake when she mis informed me during our settlement discussions. I had to pay Attorney Roman thousands of dollars, depleting my savings for email correspondences, phone calls and mistakes.
