I don't know what happened to my original review of Lodi lake because it had some great wild life…read moreshots and some family ones as well bummer oh well. If you are in Lodi and miss coming here you have missed out on this golden gem. It is located right smack in the middle of town and is such a great spot right off Turner Rd and runs along side the Mokelumne River. There is so much to do here from walking, running fishing, swimming, kayaking you name it they have it. In the summer time they even rent kayaks and have a small kids pool open as well. Our favorite is the walking nature trail. I bet time you see something new from deer, turtles, tons of squirrels and deer roaming around the place. It is so peaceful we love to do this especially in the evenings as it's a little cooler out and the animals seem to be a little more active. They also throughout the same host really cool activities and festivals as well. Plus they keep the park very clean and if you visit be respectful and do the same. Like I mentioned if you are in Lodi don't miss this one!

I'll always love Lodi Lake because it holds so many memories for me. It's still peaceful and…read morebeautiful, but it's hard not to notice how much has changed over the years. One thing that really bothers me is seeing discarded fishing line left behind. Nature and wildlife deserve better than that. It takes two seconds to clean up after ourselves.

Though campsites are pretty close together, site #37 (like many sites here) is right on the water, it's like you have your own little beach, with occasional flocks of geese coming on shore... Had to stay at Charlie's Point, cuz I was with Charlie Chaplin (only cuz "Charlie Chaplin Days" was happening this past weekend in Fremont). At arrival, we noticed animal feces and bottle caps galore. The campgrounds seem to be a bit filthier than what you'd expect from roughing it outdoors (and I have plenty to compare it to). Before we set up and settled, I kinda had to clean up... wish I had brought a broomstick, as funny as it sounds, I prefer to camp out on dirt, not trash. Love that they offer so many site options for camping here, and a huge lake for visitors to enjoy swimming, boating, jetskiing, or just appreciating the views and adoring the waterbirds. But one thing missing is there's nowhere to really go hiking, like we often find at other parks and campgrounds. It's fine though, cuz we spent our time on the water (brought our own inflatable boat), relaxing on a beach mat at our campsite, and hanging out by the campfire at night. And I enjoyed just being out in nature with Charlie Chaplin! :P No problems with wifi/internet access at Woodward, and the Crescent General Store on site selling swim gear, camping accessories, firewood, medicine, snacks, drinks, and limited groceries (open till 6pm on Saturday), added to the convenience of our stay. It was quiet after 10:30pm this past Saturday, so we ended up getting a good night's rest, with Charlie Chaplin ready to do his thing the next day :)

Paradise Point was at one time a jewel on the Delta. Since…read moreit was acquired in 2014 by Bridge Bay/Peloria Marinas, out of Los Angeles, the Marina has steadily turned into a abismal shell of what it once was. At one time it boasted a house boat rental fleet, fuel docks, a well supplied ship's store that was staffed and open, a wonderful restaurant, well cared for grounds and the road was maintained by the rental garages, plenty of parking in the lower lot, a near full moorage of well cared for houseboats. I stored our MB ski boat there in an enclosed garage for 20+ years, as we have an Island close by. I have watched the Marina go steadily down hill, all the while being told by the revolving door of replacement managers that Bridge Bay/Peloria was going to start making improvements. The restaurant occupant, Breadfruit Tree moved on, no attempt to fill the need for a new restaurant, even though "they'll have something soon." The fuel docks were leaking and repaired but were never brought back on line. The ample parking was replaced by a outdoor boat storage lot. The ship's store is minimally stocked and not staffed, you must get a manager to come sell you something from the mediocre supplies available. The houseboat rental fleet is parked and rotting way. The lower garage and parking lot roads are pot holed and terrible to drive on. Staff was laid off and cut to a bare minimum. The moorage is now half, at best, of what it once was and comprised of decaying, dirty houseboats, most appear to be occupied by liveaboard owners or renters and reports of drug usage and sales occurring constantly! The final straw for me was coming back from a days skiing, to find my truck in the lower parking lot broken into stereo gear, amps speaker system and personal items gone, all IN BROAD DAYLIGHT. I learned from the manager that Stockton PD will not come out even if video footage of the theft with car license numbers and pictures of the thieves are available. I returned the next weekend to find that my garage had been the victim of another attempted break in to steal my boat and personal gear, the only thing preventing it was I had the garage double padlocked. I wasn't special, as I learned from management that there was a rash of similar thefts going on at the Marina, DAILY! Oh, another amenity Bridge Bay/Peloria Marinas did away with was security staff personnel driving the Marina. I pulled my boat out of the garage I had for years, the very next morning, taking it home. A month later, I was blessed and able to move into another Marina that is a business that cares about their customers experience and security, and is LOCALLY owned. My brother in law, a boater from Redding says, the same thing has happened to a Lake Shasta marina, that Bridge Bay/Peloria Marinas has also acquired. It really is sad that a once jewel of the Delta has been beat down and wasting away.

They let you know on how the conditions are out there. Minimal paperwork. Insurance costs you $16, not bad at all. We usually rent the basic boats with a canopy over our heads for fishing. It does its job. Yesterday they said they ran out of those canopy boats for us because all of them were being reserved, so we bummed out. Scorching hot sun and no canopy for the whole day = burnt skin and us going home early. Once we were about to load, one of the workers checked out what they had left, and TADA... They had one random canopy boat left. Thank God! They do go out of their way to help customers out! If you are planning to rent jet skis here, they stopped doing that a few years ago. I recommend making reservations just in case!

The last time we rafted Middle Fork American was on a cold, gloomy, drizzling day in October 2019 - so we had to give it another go in warmer weather. This time around was just as memorable. Two of us in the boat ended up falling out in the water at Tunnel Chute, which happened so fast that I barely knew what had happened - thankfully, there was a nice calmer stretch of water right after through the river tunnel, so we were easily able to get back into the raft. (Thank you to our guide, Troy, for hauling me back in, and for being an awesome guide in general!) Plus this was one of the photographer spots, so the action was all captured for us to laugh about later. Later, after our tasty sandwich picnic lunch, we had a few unexpected events happen, starting from the portage down Ruck-a-Chucky Falls. Shout-out to all three guides in our group - Troy, Shea, and AJ - for handling things so calmly and getting us all back where we were supposed to be! We had plenty of calm stretches floating down the river as well. The canyon is beautiful and quite peaceful. We saw a ton of dragonflies flying above our heads, masked ducks chilling on rocks and diving underwater, and wild grapes and blackberries growing alongside the river. We'll be back again for another trip with All-Outdoors! Maybe we'll try a 2-day or 3-day trip next time.

There are a good handful of rental spots when it comes to table areas. There are a lot of geese and ducks so be careful where you step throughout your visit. There is some permitted fishing with license as an option. I thought that certain areas walking through the trails could have been a little bit more maintenance especially with trash, cans and benches to sit down on that are located throughout. They do not permit dogs to be on the trails, but throughout we notice that was ignored as there were a lot of dog markings left and not picked up by the owners. There are also a few playgrounds and restroom areas located throughout, as well as what look to be like a little hall that you could rent with a deck access. if you're ever interested in doing the trails, both of them together were just under 2 miles long. This location was very close to home so therefore convenient they have a nature center but it's only open on Saturdays and there's also a little informational booth located explaining a little more about the nature center. decent spot to have birthday parties or celebrations staged here. There's also an amphitheater that seats about 400.
