Also, many of the businesses participated with mermaid sculptures in honor of the festival, it was fun to walk through town and see the different mermaid versions. Our participation started at the 10:00 am opening on Saturday. Quite a turn out! A huge tent full of vendors; I immediately found a necklace I loved, bought it, made the rounds, and then went back to the vendor I bought the necklace from to buy a pair of earrings. We then checked out the food and music tent, where they sold beer, wine, Ruddell's amazing fish tacos, and pulled pork sandwiches. Outside the tent they had a pizza vendor selling pizza which looked pretty tasty. There was artwork for sale in the tent; some of it from students at the local school. There was even an area where you could get your photo taken with beautiful "live" mermaids! We went back late in the afternoon, and had a great time listening and dancing to the music of Burning James and the Funky Flames. We stayed through the very last song. Made for a very fun day!

My family enjoyed walking around and spent more time in this shop than we thought we would, just perusing and trying to find our way through every twist and turn! The only dislike we had with the store is that the lighting was not that great, and nothing is organized very well. Given that it is the size of a small department store, I kind of wish that it would be organized as such -- for example, dishes and housewares, clothes and accessories, music, etc. instead of all categories spread out from top to bottom! If we ever return to Cayucos, we plan on stopping here again because there is so much to see.
