I recently purchased a used vehicle from McLarty Daniel Nissan. I saw the vehicle online and Travis was the salesman that helped me out. I live hours away from the dealership so he took pictures and video of him going over the vehicle as if he were buying it. Travis's customer service was great. When I arrived a few days later to finish the deal on the vehicle, the financing department was a breeze. I liked that they didn't try to sell me a bunch of different warranties and other things. TERRIBLE experience today. I dropped my car off last night for a 7am appointment this morning. I told them I needed my normal oil change and a new battery. I called at 8 am this morning and they said they had the car and would be starting on it. I told them I would be in at 10am to pick it up. When I arrived it was not done but they said it would not be long. I told them I had an event to go to with my grandson and needed to be out by 11:30. They said not a problem. At 11:20 I went to the maintenance desk and asked how long and reminded them of my appointment, they said they would check with maintenance, 10 minutes later they were back telling me they were waiting for my permission to install a new battery!!! I said yes but why didn't they ask earlier? The person said it would only take 5 minutes. 15 minutes later I got up and went to the desk and asked if I could pay my bill as I now would be late for my grandson and I needed to speed things up. Finally the car came up, and when I turned on the car I realized all my settings had been changed. I am not a techie person, I always tell them, do not change my settings and if they do, switch them back .... I had to wait for the technician to make the changes, by this time I was very annoyed , as I drove off, one if the service people, yelled out to me in a very snarky, condescending way, to have a good day! I was extremely offended by the tone. I am the customer, I was trying to be civil in light of a bad situation and then had to hear a smart ass employee that was extremely offensive make light of the hell I had just been put thru. My event was missed, my grandson was disappointed and my respect for this dealership is now non existent. read more

Hi I got a very unusual review with this agent JUAN CARLOS BECERRA, he's acting very uncomfortably nice because he was actually "nice" to do the survey on the car that I purchased which broke down after 7 months, a used car. He came to me & told me that he will do the survey or review for me on my phone, because it has a lot of confusing "questions" that I may not understand. He thinks I'm that stupid to not understand those questionnaires, I knew he did it for himself, get more money of course. I should have reported him months ago. Not to mention asking to go out with him? Please, I'm not interested & he was just an agent.Forcing me to get the car that is out of my budget, ended up getting 60% higher than my budget. Shady Experience and Poor Transparency -- Walked Away Disappointed I recently went to this dealership to buy a car for my elderly mother. I was greeted by Blaine, who showed me the car and joined me on a test drive. From the start, I made it clear that I didn't want to play the usual "back and forth" pricing games -- I asked him to give me his best offer up front. After taking quite a while to "check with his manager," Blaine came back and told me that the very car I had just driven was already sold. That immediately raised red flags. He then said they had other cars available online, but when he returned 10-15 minutes later, the price he quoted was higher than the online price, by $1000+. He tried to explain that they were "giving me money off" what they had invested in the car, but the sticker price was actually about $1,000 over what was listed online. To make things worse, he said the dealership would "only make $120" on the deal -- a line that sounded scripted and designed to make the offer seem fair. It was clear he'd been trained to say all the right things while still trying to justify inflated pricing. Overall, the entire process felt misleading, disorganized, and condescending, especially toward a single woman just trying to buy a reliable car for her elderly mother. I chose to walk away rather than get caught in a shady transaction. If you value honesty, transparency, and respect, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

We took our car to McLarty Daniel Nissan for new tire installation and wheel alignment. During checkout, we noticed that the alignment printout shows some of the values were still out of spec (see attached photo) and the note stated that this may result in tire wear, handling and safety problems. The service advisor or technician said those are not adjustable so there is nothing they could do. In other words, we paid for a service, but did not get what we paid for. When I contacted the so-called general manager regarding this and mentioned that there is a Nissan Recall Bulletin that addresses this issue by replacing the bolts with different types, he said it is not a recall so I would have to pay an additional $262 if those changes need to be made. The so-called general manager was very unfriendly and unprofessional. Also, in regards to oil change, they pretend like their prices are lower than the competition by advertising $69.95 full synthetic oil change on their website, but the price becomes $89.95 due to my car needing different oil viscosity. Complete bait and switch. I am currently seeking third party help to get my money back. If you are considering this dealership, prepare yourself for an unpleasant experience. DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING MCLARTY-DANIELS NISSAN TELLS YOU! DECEPTIVE, TREATS LOYAL BUYERS AND SERVICE DEPARTMENT CUSTOMERS TERRIBLE! Today, as my 2008 Mini Cooper has been in the shop for 3 months. The deceptive practices have continued and the Service Advisor (S.A.) Matt Decker has been the catalyst for the cover up as to explaining why they performed a repair that does not fix the problem. The car was towed into their Service Department (S.D.) because there was no oil in the engine.  About a week before, the oil was changed at McLarty-Daniel, as I regularly do to both of my personal vehicles, as well as my commercial vehicles.  (I purchased extended warranties in addition to the Lifetime Warranty that came with the car.) Let me add that I have been a loyal customer since 2013 and my personal vehicles were purchased at McLarty-Daniels. When I make the statement of being a LOYAL customer, I bring ALL 4 of my vehicles to McLArty-Daniels for service.  Yet today's actions showed me that  McLarty-Daniels IS NOT IN THE BUSINESS OF TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS, nor treating customer loyalty with ANY respect. During this 3 month episode, the original diagnosis was that the Mini needed a new engine. When I referred to the Lifetime Warranty that came with the car when it was purchased, they say the claim was rejected due to "engine failure due to overheating."  S.A. Matt Decker informed me of this days after the car was towed concerning it not having any oil in the motor.  Prior to that, there was no issue about overheating. For 3 months, the diagnosis focused on overheating, thus they replaced the temperature sensor/gauge and a thermostat. They indicated that was the only issue with the car.  The lengthy delay was due to "trouble getting parts" but all along, my concern was to get a clear answer as to the oil problem, (especially since the oil had just been changed a week ago before). This is the main concern inchich the Service Department has danced around, deflected and ignored. When pressed about the concerns of the delay, the misdiagnosis, and the Warranty issue, Matt then brings the Mini back into the shop to do a 'once-over' before the vehicle is picked up. About 20mins later, he called me to inform me that tech said it was "misfiring'. The car, after being 'repaired' is not fixed and my fear is that the next breakdown will result in major repair cost, due to McLarty-Daniels' Nissan deception and incompetence.  Today was the last draw: finally Matt told me to "pick it up and take it somewhere else". If you read other reviews concerning McLarty-Daniels Nissan, you will see a common pattern of deception, incompetence, mistreatment of loyal customers and overall very bad experiences.  THis call out is to WARN EVERYONE doing business with McLarty-Daniels to AVOID AT ALL COST; because it will be a COSTLY tribulation to you in the end... read more

Mean customer service. Very rude. The customer service rep who helped me threatened to tow my car if I didn't park it where he wanted me to. I was very scared to leave my car there. Just rude and mean. He had no empathy for what I was dealing with. Offer no help, he was only finding angels to over charge me for any little service charges (per hour). He and his team had zero kindness or professionalism. I will never go to any of the McLarty Daniel lots. Very bad experience. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!! Very unprofessional, do bad business and attempt to undermine customers. My car broke down after a few days of ownership and they wouldn't do anything besides tell me I drove it off the lot. A few good things stated from them during our multiple phone calls. "I think you should see all our multiple good reviews when you leave a bad review" "Yes we are going to charge you for all of service and diagnostics even though you just purchased the vehicle" "We are a dealership, we have to make money" "you drove it off the lot, it's your vehicle now" Then after me stating that they basically put a bandaid on a bullet hole to sell a car he stated "If you want to put a bullet hole in your car that's up to you" I used to sell cars and if I knew of an issue I wouldn't sell it. The manager doesn't care about customers or even working things out with customers. There are multiple bad reviews but sadly because anyone can write a review they have a lot of employees write good reviews as well as employee friends. I would strongly strongly stay away from this dealership and not fall into there lies or false justifications. I had a truly terrible experience with this dealership initially. I brought in my previous vehicle to the service department and had a lot of trouble with a lack of communication. I later decided to trade in said vehicle for a newer model available on the used lot. This process was truly terrible, but I now know that this was due to an untrained salesman (he was a new hire and had not passed his Nissan training) and not the company as a whole. The salesman could not answer my basic questions and put us under a lot of pressure to buy the vehicle immediately. I had a written offer from another dealership for a few thousand dollars more than what they were offering here, which I told my salesman. He then handwrote an agreement stating that I would to buy this car no matter how financing worked out or what my payment may be if he agreed to go to the manager to ask them to match the offer I had from the other dealership. I tried asking clarifying questions to make sure this was not a binding document agreeing to purchase this car if they agreed to offer $2k more. He raised his voice at us in frustration and clarified that yes, signing this paper would mean that I have to buy the car today if he agreed to ask the manager for the higher trade in offer. We decided this was not worth it and continued with the lower offer. He continuously have inaccurate or outright incorrect information to make the deal happen. I now understand that he was new and untrained, but I also feel that this dealership should not allow untrained salesman on the floor unsupervised. This week I have had so spend several days calling and leaving voicemails with multiple people in multiple departments trying to get the required paperwork to get tags on this vehicle. I finally got connected with a manager to help with this and I now have my paperwork. This is another example of how this dealership's communication has room for improvement. **disclaimer: this review was previously much longer and more negative, but I have since spoken with 2 managers and have received much clarification. The customer relations manager assured me that she would be re-evaluating how they do training for future new hires so that this does not occur again. I appreciate the response of management to this situation. I bought my car from McLarty Daniels in 2015. We have used their service department since before we bought our car there. We drive almost two hours to have them work on our car. One tech told me that I had a pristine service record. I brought my car in today because it has been leaking on the passenger side when it rains. A simple Google search says this is likely clogged drains from the sun roof. I also had a small piece of weatherstripping pop up. Both potential issues were mentioned when we scheduled the appointment. We scheduled an appointment to have it looked at and possibly fixed today. When I arrived today, I was told that they likely couldn't get to it despite the appointment. I was told my issue was "a Monday problem" by Nick. I sat there for hours while they did nothing on my car and then my husband was told by Charles that they would understand if we went elsewhere to have it fixed because they had scheduling issues that I was made to feel like they were my problem. If I were under warranty they would give me a rental. Never mind that I was willing to pay to have the issue fixed today. They do not care if you are a loyal customer. They do not care if they have a faulty design. You can make an appointment but good luck getting help. The paper left in the car also said I needed an alignment, which is strange because I had that done on the car two weeks ago. The service manager called this morning. The Owner Loyalty Service Manager made a lot of promises yesterday that apparently were lies. They had zero intentions of making it right because I left a negative review. In the span of the conversation today, I was continually talked down to and told how it was unreasonable that I should expect my car to be looked at on the day of an appointment and told how difficult of an issue this would be to be fixed only at the end of the call to have him realize that we had mentioned a specific issue when we made the appointment and I referenced it yesterday when checking in. It would be a simple fix but they don't do that there. Had we returned we would have had our car there for days on end costing us no telling how much for an issue they couldn't fix but couldn't tell me that yesterday because I dared to make an appointment on a Friday. Don't worry the service manager Paul won't be held hostage by Google reviews and he doesn't care if you bought your car there and have brought it back for service for 8 years. You can just go elsewhere which is exactly what we will be doing. We won't spend another dime at McClarty Daniels after being loyal customers for years and had planned to buy our next car there but management doesn't want our business and are completely uninterested in my experience or making it right. read more

Used car lot is one of the worst experiences I've had in a dealership we were trying to get rid of a pick up and had been to several other dealerships earlier that day and as soon as we walked in the door and mentioned that we wanted to sell the pick up we were helped immediately if not 2 to 3 minutes later as soon as we arrive to the Nissan dealership we were told to go inside and wait as the guy in his office would come out and help us but we sat there for 30 minutes while we could see him through the clear glass window just goofing around and ignoring the fact that he has customers you would think that if they wanted business they would take care of the customers but it seemed their employee relationships were more important worst experience in the dealership ever and I've worked in a few and it just amazes me how irresponsible people can be. read more

Not really sure about the sales portion of the business but the service portion used to be really good. I came back to town and took my vehicle there based on past experience and when I picked it up the same low fluid warning that was on there when I dropped it off was on there when I picked it up! Which makes me wonder did the oil even get changed?!??! I have made several attempts to call and text them and have received ABSOLUTELY no response except for one which (in which I returned the call and left two phone numbers for return callback due to service while working on one of them) and I have heard nothing since. And I will have to wait until Fri/Sat to go back to them face to face since no one is willing to return a phone call or text. I would be extremely cautious because what they say they do on paper may or may not be the case...And I have waited before going to this measure but again, no one is able to talk there after my nearly $100 oil change...PER THE INVOICE read more

We knew exactly what we wanted after seeing it on their web site and the price matched up well to the KBB value, give or take a reasonable profit for the dealer. So when we drove up and the sales guy asked what we wanted to see, we told him exactly which car. Easy. A quick test drive and some poking at the car to confirm that it wasn't a wreck or a flood car, we headed inside to make the deal. Of course, it's a no haggle price but we were able to talk them up an extra $500 on the trade-in. My only complaint is that it really shouldn't take four hours to buy a car. More than two of those hours were waiting on the finance people. Admittedly, he did get us a good deal on the interest and the payments work within our budget. I went in for a four wheel alignment and they couldn't get the front passenger out of the red so they explained to me that nothing was broken they just couldn't get it in place so they gave me a seven dollar discount even though I was charged more than $80 it seems like I should have got at least 25% back because they only completed 75% of the work and now I have to schedule back in with the four-wheel guys to straighten out one tire when they were to busy in the first place. McLarty Daniel Review It has now been almost three weeks since I had my car in for it's 60,000 mile service and I am still waiting for that email asking to rate the service I was given. This is the first time I have had to wait this long. I do believe it is not coming. They know that I was not happy. I called to schedule the service for the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and requested a loaner car for that day and a rental for Sunday and Monday. We were company from Iowa and we needed space for four adults and two car seats. I was given a quote that was much better than what I had found at Enterprise and another place, so said to book it. I got the usual text to confirm message and did. Then I got an email, another text AND a phone call to remind me that I had this appointment. I asked the young lady if they had it down that I needed a vehicle to accommodate four adults and two car seats and she confirmed the price. Day of the appointment, I am early and find out that they do not have a vehicle for me and have nothing to say about it beyond that they are sorry. While I am standing there, frustrated almost to the point of tears, I notice that sign says the 60,000 service includes an oil change. I tell them to not do the oil change because I just had it done less than 3,000 miles prior and tell them that I'm coming back for my car today. They can tell that I am not happy and say they will put a rush job on it. I don't want a rush job. I want a good job. I want delivery on agreements. The customer service lady comes over and greets me and then makes the mistake of asking how my day is going. I tell her flat out that it was fine but has gone to absolutely disappointing a crappy since I got here. I then explain the frustration over so many reminders of the appointment and then car rental fiasco and tell her that the entire weekend is tainted because every time we go someplace this weekend we will need to take two vehicles because I thought I had one lined up here and did not make arrangements elsewhere. She tells me that she is very sorry. To which I reply "Sorry does not fix this or make it any better." And she walks away. Yup. Walks away. I pick up my car at 3:30 and get my bill. There is a note on it to not do the oil change, but it looks like there is no reduction in price on it. In fact, as far as I can tell, the labor to change the air filter, wiper blades, key fob battery and another (?!?) air filter and preform the fuel induction service was $181.19 plus there is a charge of $27.18 for parts not specified. After twice being quoted the same amount for the rental and the number of occupants and then not having a vehicle for me, I would have thought something beyond a "Sorry" would be done to make this customer drive away feeling better. When a person moves to a new area, it is a challenge to find new medical facilities, hair dressers, a church and automobile service they feel comfortable with and trust. After purchasing my car with McLarty Daniel, the service has been a disappointment two of the four times I have been there. I have to admit that I was pampered up in northern Iowa. I would drive to school and after school get into a fully washed and vacuumed car with a fresh oil change. They would pick it up and return it knowing that I would be over at the end of the day to pay them and express my gratitude for what they did. After my father-in-law passed away, my mother-in-law found herself with a truck, camper and an expensive Nissan that she needed to sell asap, in exchange for one small, less expensive vehicle. This dealership took them all! They embraced us like family. Plied us with chilled water. Spent hours with my mom-in-law, in finding the perfect vehicle, at an affordable price, with a warranty that can't be beat. Everyone we came in contact with, was nice and caring. They refused warranty service to me 2 times until I complained and yelled so much each time that they finally did it. I'll never buy a car from here again. This experience was on a brand new 2008 Altima. Would have bought another Nissan, but this dealership was so bad, Went down the road to VW and bought a new Passat. I asked where my vehicle was and they said in the car wash, but around 20 minutes passed and I got tired of waiting so I went out and looked for my vehicle. Once I stepped out I saw it just parked outside and once the lady noticed me she was like "it just came out!".... worse service out there. Would much rather go to Toyota. I purchased a new Nissan Frontier truck 5 years ago from this dealer. I had a great purchase experience. I have had my truck serviced at this dealer for 5 years years and I have nothing but good to say about my service experiences. So why 1-star? They will NOT stop calling me trying to sell me a new car/truck and trying to get me to trade my old one in. I have asked repeatedly for them to take me off their call list. They have not respected this request and today they started texting me on my mobile phone. I would not purchase another vehicle here for this reason. Got my new truck there on lease. Didn't really have a choice on that decision either due to the fact that the original salesman was on the phone when I had arrived. I was supposed to get the true car promise which didn't happen. No negotiations on price of said truck or my trade in. The salesman that I did get didn't seem to know what he was doing. He was running back n forth with his head chopped off. Was supposed to show me whatever on said iPad & didn't, got my truck detailed (which looked like sh*t) i.e.: sticker goo on windows, sticker goo on all 4 rims, half @ssed it needless to say, then pushed me off to the finance guy. By the time everything was said n done I just wanted to go outside for a cigarette from all the bullshit & instead he just pushed me off into my truck & said "Well if you need anything don't hesitate to call me". So here I am 15 to 20 min after leaving having problems with the Nissan connect app. He didn't know what to do besides telling me to reset all the stuff that he tried making me do at the dealership (which btw didn't work it's the stupid app that's a pos) Now mind you I've had this truck for a month now, my temp tag is about to run out as of tomorrow & yet I still don't have a plate for my truck from the dealership (remember it's LEASED) oh & im going out of state tomorrow & all they can tell me is "Come in tomorrow & we'll give you another temp tag for another month". So, besides all this bull it's a clean dealership with no customer service what so ever, no timely response back either, BUT I got the truck that I wanted; not for the price & def not for the deal that I was guaranteed by true car. Hope this helps anyone out. Oh & before anyone says something stupid to me about my review; I come from a family of car salesmen & they would NEVER treat their customers let alone a NEW customer this way.
