hey I'm a student here at McKenney but I choose to go un named, anyways. The kids are rude, one of the staff for sixth grade is homophobic, the school refuses to give me my IEP accommodations and the vice principal, AND the principal are very ignorant, they never listen when I have to tell them about when a serious problem happens with me and another kid, and they just brush it off, when I mentioned that my mental health is just as important if not more than my mental health, all he said was "meh" and he sent me back to class... I find this extremely disrespectful and like my mental health doesn't matter to any of the staff, the pro's of this school is that they do provide after school activities, sports, and sometimes they do dances. ​​​​​​​​​​ read more

I have been here at this school for THREE years. It is honestly the WORST school you can ever send your kid to. When I say this, I mean this with no exaggeration. The kids here are straight up disrespectful. When I was in 6th and 7th grade, there were fights EVERY. OTHER. DAY. It was honestly horrible. I cant lie, now im in 8th grade the fights have been better, but there are still fights, not to mention the bullying and people threatening others. Not only are the students disrespectful, but so are the staff. I have been struggling in school, my grades have gone down and so have my mental health, and I cant seem to be able to talk to anyone. Not even the councilor. The teachers give us so little time on tests as well. For 8th grade teachers, Mrs. Anderson NEEDS to be fired. Not only is she outright disrespectful, but she barely gives us any time on assignments that would usually take maybe 3 days to do, especially with the fact it takes me some time to actually be able to do assignments. I am speaking out about this. This school is actually horrible. The students, the staff, ect. There are only few staff I actually know who have been absolutely AWSOME to me while I was here. Otherwise, all other staff are just... Bad. I cant even put into words how much I actually hate this school. I am 13 and I already have such bad anxiety and due to the teachers here. Seriously, if you are thinking of putting your kid in this school, DONT. Your childs mental health may genuinly start to decrease, they may gain depression, anxiety, ect. Not to also mention the fact this school is so unsanitary. In Mrs. Andersons class there are LITERAL ROACHES. it is outright DISGUSTING, and the school has done nothing about it whatsoever. this school thoroughly, without exaggeration, was the worst years of my life I have ever gone through. not only were the students absolutely loathsome, but the staff were disrespectful, had nauseating attitudes, and acted like their students meant nothing to anybody. my anxiety and depression as a 12 year old did not need to be as high as it did. i got bullied every. single. day. multiple times a day. i got hit, things thrown on me, and publicly shamed on multiple occasions. i told the staff, the counselor, the principals, NOTHING was EVER done. nothing was EVER resolved. i lost my light. my strive for life. when my grades dropped, the guidance counselor simply told me i was not trying hard enough. when I was trying SO HARD. trying so inexplicably, unexplainable hard, to simply stay alive. if you are a parent and you're thinking of sending your child here, think twice. beware. read more
