If I could give less than one star I would. I took my car to Mark to replace an EGR tube which we…read morehad already purchased. Almost a week goes by and finally the car is ready to be picked up. (Prior to dropping the car off the only issue we had was the spark plugs and wires had just been replaced and this EGR tube Broke during this process. ) upon arrival, Mark tells us that the motor in my car is bad and it "might not even make it to the house" which is less than two miles from the shop. We pay the 259.00 he charged for what he's already done and go pay for a motor from a salvage yard (which they guarantee), with the agreement it will be picked up and Mark will replace the motor. Almost two weeks go by and we get the call that the car is ready. It was picked up by a family member as I was at work. The moment I get home I check it out thoroughly. Right away I notice there's a whirring/chirping sound which does not sound like a belt but rather a bearing or pulley. The oil was also well over full. The gas cap was missing entirely. There's now a pinhole in the coolant reservoir which is losing water and very fast. (never had lost water and I'd had it over a year) the next day I took it to Mark who was defensive that I implied something he'd done caused the issue with the reservoir. He agreed to replace the reservoir (which he did with a used one) and tells me the tensioner is bad after repeatedly trying to clean the brand new belt and looking at the car for about 30 minutes. Also says he's not sure what happened to the gas cap but has one there that he replaced it with (car had over 3/4 tank when I left it and had less than 1/4 when I picked it up). We bought the tensioner and Monday afternoon Mark replaced it. I filed a complaint with the better business bureau because ALL of this should've been seen before he said the car was ready. All of it. The next day I check my coolant level and it's almost empty with an oily residue on top of what little is left And the air conditioner which worked perfectly before it's now blowing hot air. I refill the coolant, take it back to Mark. When I pull up he lets me tell him what's wrong and then says "After what you did to me? Filing a complaint on me??" I say "yes, I'm very unsatisfied with the quality of your service here. I DO expect you to make this right" so he says "if its something I've done then I will but if not..." And dusts his hands off dramatically. I said "well, the air conditioner never had issues before, since it was replaced less than a year ago. And the car never lost coolant before and never had residue before so I don't see how it's NOT something you've done." He has an attitude and says there's nothing he can do about it tonight, I'll have to bring it the following day at lunch. He did some exploring on the coolant and let some air bubbles out and said to just watch it, he wasn't really sure what could be the problem. The next day my fiancée took the car back and watched as Mark ran a dye test on the A/C. He spilled the dye right in the fan which got dye all over. Then after a lot of looking said he saw a leak in the condenser which was probably "caused by a rock ". And refused to fix it further. This week the same whirring/chirping is back and my fiancée is so done with him that we're taking it elsewhere to be diagnosed. THE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD WITH A MECHANIC!!!! Do not take your stuff here unless you want to pay high prices for sub par work at best. We're out over $1600.00 and the check engine light is still on too.

The garage is loaded with PA Gear, lights, mixing consoles, etc. It's a heavy assed load. These things are often held in the middle of nowhere, way off the beaten path, typically miles from the nearest paved road. This is 4 wheeling with a 20K trailer behind you. As a result, I've gone though the factory transmission, followed by a series of 4 different Jasper rebuild transmissions in a 6 month period, each failed, they covered by warranty but it doesn't help when your miles from anywhere and dead in the water in a field someplace. My truck was spending more time in the shop waiting on replacement trannies then out on the road and that just wasn't cutting it. A friend recommended the Texas Performance Diesel guys, so I had it towed to Emory from Dallas. They built me a custom tranny specifically for towing (single billet shafts, pressure valve body, billet torque converter and upgraded clutch pack. It took a couple trips back to tweeze it out wherein they also replaced my boost elbows, changed the fuel plate and did some other tweaks to get more HP out of the truck when towing. Since then I've had to abuse the shit out of the transmission, including one trip where the promoter gave me the wrong directions and after 2 miles down hill during the rain from hell and finding it was a dead end with no where to turn around we had to back the thing up all 2 miles, in reverse with rainwater up to the axles and smudging through 3" of mud. The tranny didn't balk. T Temp never even got into the red (although the EGT's were getting close at some points). That was 10 years ago. It's still held up day in and day out, through mud and sludge and rutted up fields all over OK, KS, AR & MO. It doesn't even break a sweat on those godawful switchbacks in northern AR. I can tool down the interstate fully loaded at 75 mph all damn day long and not think twice about it. I could not more highly recommend these guys. They absolutely know their shit, and have completely removed all worrying about a failed transmission.

One week later I was back in the shop out of freon...and he claimed the "truck was old", implying it could not be fixed. Went to another mechanic who actually found the leak under a protective hose, repaired it and now all is well. No vehicle is too old to be worked on. Even today we see old Model A's and T's on the road with original motors that are repaired and kept going. These guys are not the guys to go to if you have a problem that needs more than a cursory glance.
