The driveway looked nice at first, but within a couple of weeks and after heavy rain, cars and even people's feet began sinking into the gravel along, the gravel pushing out the retaining wall, sinking altogether, and ruts everywhere due to the gravel not being compacted. I immediately made Alex aware of the issue, and he said he'd come fix it. He never communicated a specific day, and when he finally said he was planning to come, I let him know I had a renter that day. After additional follow ups from me, he sent a quote for nearly $1,000 more to "fix" the driveway by rolling and compacting it, which is the exact work that should have been done the first time. I had already paid several thousand dollars for a fresh driveway, so being asked to pay extra just to have the job done correctly was surprising and frustrating. I asked if we could meet in the middle on the added cost, and after that, I never heard back from him. I also reached out within the warranty period outlined in our contract, yet the driveway was never fixed and I never received any communication about a resolution. Now I'm forced to file with the BBB and go through unnecessary steps just to try to get the driveway repaired. Unfortunately, this turned into another situation where a contractor doesn't finish the job and then ghosts you.

On Thursday morning (08/23/2018) I got a text, "White gutter Late afternoon". I replied, "Ok. If I don't answer please call my home phone...I'm on midnights." I NEVER HEARD ANOTHER WORD. At 6:00 in the EVENING I CALLED AND GOT NO ANSWER, so I left a voicemail and sent a text, telling them I had to leave for work in a half hour, so just forget it, I'll find someone else to go to. I used Kern Marble and Granite to install my master bath quartz. I was impressed that they cut the…read moretub out of one piece of stone. I overlooked the fact that all of the corners on shower curb, and 2 vanities were all different. Some were rounded and some more pointed. The vanity corners were so rounded that there was only 1/4' overhang. Despite all of this I used them again for a rental property and at the same time my personal kitchen. I specifically showed them the corner that I liked in my bathroom and told them I wanted all of the corners on the island to not be rounded, and they MUST all be the same. When they installed the island my face fell. There were 2 rounded corners and 2 large curved edges where the barstools go. That is not what I wanted. They told me to find a piece of granite to match my quartz and they would do the island over because they could not get another slab of my quartz. I spent hundreds of $ in gas and much time driving to Hilliard to look for a piece of granite. I continued to look because I didn't like anything. I wanted the quartz I had ordered. They insisted they could not get it. I now believe they were just trying to get me to keep the incorrectly made quartz. The long sink counter had no overhang in the corner and the rest of it went from 0" to 1&3/4". They finally told me they found 2 pieces of the quartz. They were going to remake the counters but when they installed them there were 4 different sized overhangs on the island and they used the same sink counter and recut it. The original counter had flaws that I never mentioned because I knew it was going to be replaced. Those same flaws were still there in the same places. There was still no overhang in the corner. When I called this to their attention they said they had another piece of quartz but it was cut wrong so they used the same one. I finally got online and entered my stone manufacturer and color. It came right up. I called the distributor which said they had MANY slabs of that stone and that my fabricator probably didn't want to order it. That's when I told them I would not work with them anymore. I cannot work with a company that lies to me for their own welfare. I also cannot have their son in my house again as he is an angry person. This whole process took 5 months, from 12/31/18, when I paid the deposit, until 5/28/19 when I told Kern I would not work with them anymore since they lied abut not being able to get my quartz.
