We used Mel for our wine country engagement session. We had so much fun! She was patient with us, wasn't afraid to tell us how to pose or make adjustments, and was so quick to get us our digital proofs. We even had our yorkie-poo dog Rocky join in on some shots and got some cute ones that captured all of our personalities. I rarely write reviews, but like someone else said I found MCJ on Yelp and know how crucial reputation is for businesses these days. So I think I owe it to them! :) We contacted a LOT of photographers / videographers in the months leading up to our wedding. We looked at their portfolios really hard before determining our favorites. MCJ definitely stood out; they have a great style of photography / videography that we just loved and thought it was a beautiful representation of peoples memorable days! After contacting MCJ we found that they were one of the cheapest in terms of pricing too (our other favorite was at least twice their price). They also offered convenient packages that meant we could pick the one best suited to what we wanted covered. Before the wedding, MCJ sent out a questionnaire asking about our favorite songs, names of people in the parties etc. They also asked about any particular photographs that we wanted (either of people or location). They were also super friendly. We live on Catalina Island so never actually met MCJ before the big day (I think they were the only vendor we didn't meet), but we didnt' feel that we had to since their communication was excellent, they were happy to answer any questions we had, they had a great reputation on Yelp and their portfolio was stunning. On the day of, we decided we wanted to go down to the beach to have some photograph's taken with our bridal party. First of all, we were getting married in Huntington Beach (those beaches are a long distance to the water) and secondly, we were getting married on a Saturday in August. So you can imagine the crowds of sunbathers / surfers on the beach. I'd imagine most photographers would turn around and say forget it, but MCJ battled through it with us and made it work. And the photograph's turned out great! Overall, we were beyond impressed with MCJ Impressions. We also had so many guests comment to us afterwards how professional they were, then we heard horror stories from wedding photographs they've had or have encountered. They were all super friendly too - so down to earth and so calm (which is so important on your big day!) We have nothing but good things to say about MCJ. Every photo we got back we love, and the video trailer and long video are beautiful keepsakes that we can treasure forever (on another note, my husband really didn't want to pay out for a video, but now we have it he say's he's so glad we had it done - the day honestly goes by so quickly that you forget everything that happened, it's such a valuable piece to keep forever more!). I hired MCJ Impressions for their videography services for my recent wedding this past January. With extensive research and vendor evaluation, I concluded that there were a number of qualities I was looking for in a wedding videographer, but they were primarily 1) competitive pricing, 2) movie style cinematography, and 3) same-day-edit capability. If you don't know what a same-day-edit is, it's basically ongoing editing of the day's video footage in realtime, so that by the time your reception begins, the video of the day's events can be shown to your guests, and it is crafted much like a music video. I am very happy to say that MCJ Impressions delivered on all of the above-stated expecataions and in many ways exceeded them. I worked directly with their chief videographer Jennifer, who was very pleasant to work with and was able to take my feedback regarding cinematic styling and musical preferences to incorporate into the final results. And the results -- nothing short of amazing. The same-day-edit video in particular was a tremendous hit with our guests, as they were amazed to see various clips and highlights of the day's events that happened just a few hours to a few moments before. The videographers were equipped with the latest SLR cameras capable of HD video, and they utilized several interchangeable lenses throughout the day to achieve the necessary depth-of-field effects that characterize movie cinematography as opposed to boring documentary style video. I think my friend summed it up best when he said, "Wow. Just wow. I swear you guys looked like movie stars!" We received extensive positive feedback from our friends and relatives, and many inquiries about who we hired to take these awesome videos. About eight weeks after the wedding, we received the fully edited video footage in a nicely packaged DVD, which contained highlights of the preparation activities and ceremony, and more detailed footage of the reception, and again the editing was of excellent cinematic quality. Much of the editing was done music video style which was very entertaining. I think what we received beautifully captured the events of the day, and now we have a wonderful keepsake that will preserve the memories for a lifetime. And all of this was done with a very reasonable and competitive pricing package. I would not hesitate to hire MCJ Impressions again for our future cinematography needs! read more

They came all the way from cali to do our las vegas wedding and they were so fun, easy going, and professional. I found MCJ Impressions on Yelp so it was only fitting to leave a review for them here! I was looking for a videographer that serviced the Redlands area with an aesthetic that fit my style. I liked what I saw in the reviews and decided to check out their website. Little did I know that I went to college with one of the sisters (hi Charlene!). We emailed back & forth and decided to meet up. Their personalities were fun and I could tell they understood our style. And since the sisters did video & photo it was an easy decision to book them for both. It would be a seamless partnership and I loved their style for photo + video after watching a few trailers. They offered a discount when booking together and every little bit of savings makes a difference when planning a wedding. The prices were affordable and comparable to other vendors we researched. Plus, they had done weddings at the Mitten Building before and that was a major perk. The lighting can be an issue in the building and they would already be familiar with everything. We completed a very thorough questionnaire for MCJ and updated things as it got closer. It was easy to get in touch with the girls and worked with Charlene most of the time before the wedding. On the wedding day this little army of ladies showed up to capture every single minute of our big day. They were fun to work with, made everything simple and did an amazing job. The girls completely exceeded my expectations and I hope they enjoyed the day with us. We laughed the whole time and I loved watching the wedding trailer because they captured all those little moments. Our friends & family thought the trailer was beautiful and we have watched it numerous times since receiving it. The pictures are beautiful and they gave me 500+ options to choose from. It was easy to download the prints and share with our vendors. I appreciate all the little details and the ease of working with them from start to finish. Some friends who recently got married haven't had the best time with theirs so we feel even more lucky to find MCJ Impressions! Yesterday our wedding video & photo disc arrived and the packaging was beautiful. They included a custom designed case that looks beautiful displayed on a coffee table or shelf. They also included a custom magnet with our names & wedding date and a handwritten note. The video was set up like a movie and was a huge surprise! My husband and I hired MCJ impressions for our wedding on 9/21/2014. If I have any advice for any couples that are planning a wedding now, it's for you to hire MCJ Impressions!!! I was hesitant about hiring a videographer for our wedding due to the prices, but I am sooooooo glad that I did. Pictures can only capture so much....video captures everything. Not only is MCJ Impressions' prices competitive, but the quality of their work is absolutely amazing!!! I was scrambling for a photographer and videographer for my daughter's wedding (March 2012). And I remembered my aunt's recent renewal of vows celebration being covered by MCJ Impressions. I wasn't quite sure they'd still be available, after all, the wedding was only 2 weeks away! After reviewing at least 10 companies, I went with MCJ Impressions and I was just impressed. Their rates are very reasonable, they had great service and was very accommodating with my questions via text, phone, and/or email. Jennifer kept in close contact with me. The crew arrived as agreed, very friendly, moved around and did their thing so non-invasively. It was a "small" gathering of multi cultural families (filipino, samoan, caucasian, mexican to name a few), Jen and Melanie and team seemed comfortable and made everyone comfortable as well. It was evident in their pictures and video that they were able to really get into the action yet not be invasive to the normal on goings (preparation, ceremony, etc). My (and my newly extended) family was letting me know how impressed they were from the proofs, they couldn't wait for the final product!! And we were not disappointed, the package came with the photo book and the disc book with the photos and videos. The presentation and the final product was just remarkable! Their attention to detail, composition style, quality, rates and service makes them top notch! Keep it up guys!
