They repaired it at a good price and it works great. I've yet to shop for a new guitar in the shop, but they have a good selection of great guitars. Whenever I go for my next guitar or gear, then I'll definitely be stopping here to check out the options.

Electrics, acoustics, electro-acoustics, classicals, 12 strings... you can find them all here. And it's not just guitars. Amps, strings, bags, straps, picks, tuition materials are all to be found. The prices are surprisingly reasonable. I was looking at Freshman acoustics and was very pleased to find them at a price not considerably more expensive than if I were to buy them online (usually a lot cheaper online as they don't come with the same warranties,standards of service etc). Furthermore, there are a great selection of second hand instruments available at respectably discounted prices. The staff are very easy to approach and very helpful. A pleasure for any existing or potential guitar enthusiasts to visit, even if you don't have an intention of making a purchase.

I had no place else to go.. that I could be bothered going to that day. Just happened to walk home a different route that day from usual and seen this place. Right there, winking at me. All I was after was a set of Elixir guitar strings for my acoustic guitar and that's exactly what I got. They also gave me a receipt. How lovely. It's quite a small shop, where they have a small selection of amplifiers, effects pedals and other electronic equipment like lighting as well. It's a crowded little store but one that is worth checking out as some of the gear looked thoroughly lovely with one guitar in particular calling out to me in a sexy voice. I dare say you would be able to get these guys to drop their ticket price on their gear with more success than the other big shops in town like Guitar Guitar who are more centrally located and will generate a more steady flow of customers. Great spot a few minutes walk from central to grab accessories if you're on your way to a practice.

I found one particular member of staff to be less than helpful - actually discouraging me from wanting to buy anything - let alone the guitar I was interested in. I was looking at a guitar, I wanted to try it with a view to buying a fortnight later, but unless I was wanting to get it then - I was on to plums. It's a shame because I normally find that they have a good selection of instruments available at some pretty reasonable prices. Not been in though since my last visit almost a year ago...I bought the guitar I wanted from elsewhere. I paid a weeee bit more for it too, but I was just glad to have been able to part with my money from somewhere else. Mr Music when it used to exist was MUCH better than this place IMO. They also set the guitar up and it played better than ever. That was a while ago. Recently just purchased a les paul jr double cut away and once again the service was brilliant. Dont go in looking for 1000's of guitars on the wall. Its a small mostly second hand + vintage store, but thats why i love it. Makes a guitar/amp you find even better!

It's ashame that the store isn't a little bigger because the choice of instruments to buy isn't outstanding but you can sometimes pick up a good second hand bargain. I didn't have time to look at all of them, or indeed any (I was only here for an autograph signing) but I will say the staff were excellent in managing the horde who were just there to be there, and not actually spend any money. Waiting inside the shop made my mind bend with the sheer number of guitars available in here. My friend, who is into guitars, wandered off to look at them rather than get an autograph and a picture, and he seemed to have just as good a time as me, although he was upset at not being able to buy anything! I think, when I get back into guitaring, and I will, this will be the first place I come for some advice and supplies. Rock on, Mother Hubbard!

They also have a good selection of acoustic guitars, but not as good as McCormacks. I'm rarely down Trongate way, which is the main reason why I never really go here. Trivial, but there are so many other places that have guitars of the same calibre and at the same price or even cheaper. I only ever dive in for accessories now and then, with 3 principal guitars keeping me occupied thesedays, my acoustic, Judith, my bass, Magdalena and my electric, Rose. I know, I know. Regardless, worth checking out. Cant rate any higher the importance of shopping around when it comes to guitars.

I only really dive in for accessories, but bought my electric out of here some years ago under the old name. Managed to get it down to £250 from £320 or thereabouts. It's got a good selection of products including amplifiers and pedals. I know a few people who have got bad service from here with regards to employees recommending a certain sort of guitar strings 'as a beginner' etc. A decent enough music store with a good selection but there are a few other big ones in Glasgow that will always get my business on big purchases ahead of this one. Recommendation: shop around.

The staff are always happy to help and will, at the merest request, unlock cabinets and show you whatever it is that you asked about. This can get a bit much: I asked for a price on a microphone and they handed one to me to inspect, pointed out the features and explained how it worked. I had no idea what they were talking about, due to my own ignorance... I think this sort of quality service is wasted on me.

The shop,located down a cobbled lane just of Pollockshaws Road, is a treasure trove of rare second hand instruments but it's real reason to visit is to try out the new guitars and mandolins. Every few years they release a special edition the most recent being the Thomas Fraser Signature Model and the stunning Bryan Adams Signature model.

Basically Jimmy promised to give us money back on a guitar modification we wanted undone (because the quality of work wasn't as expected). When we went to collect the guitar from Moon Guitars, the owner said he had 'got fed up undoing the work' and decided not to give the part refund he'd promised earlier on the phone. So much for reputation. Needless to say, we never gave him any more work after that.

I ordered a Danelectro 12string from Rikki's that I hadn't seen in any music shops in Edinburgh or even on Londons Denmark Street and had presumed impossible to find in the UK (and Rikki got it for a better price than any place online) Rikki's also seems to have the weird ability to have in stock the exact thing you are looking for. I was on the hunt for a multitrack cassette recorder and Rikki's just happened to have a Tascam 244 tucked away. Lovely guys who always have a chat and help you out, even taught me how to restring my guitar when I was 13.

We were warmly welcomed when we entered and he was quite helpful in finding the right guitar to start with, giving me a quick demo to get a feel for it and hooking me up with gear for it. They are pretty crammed wall to wall with all sorts of instruments and with the really warm service i'd recommend a visit if you're ever that way inclined.
