I was given a free back brace to shut me up since they all knew I figured out the scam they are running there. The first time I felt relief was in putting the back brace on. I was told it was extremely expensive to make me feel special I guess. Doctor told me he didn't have time for an adjustment but I watched him chase his barefoot toddler around and take his dog for a walk. An assistant told me he was "practically a neurologist" but was clueless as to the actual nerve disorder that I was telling him about which was treated by an ACTUAL neurologist. Doctor's wife who also practices I believe was the only person who acknowledged my pain and didn't treat me like an idiot trying to pull a veil over my eyes and have me sign up for long term terrible treatment by incompetent fake professionals. I went for a knee consultation and i was given a knee injection and he was rough with me and I will not go to him ever again.. no sypmathy no care nothing. i dont expect doctors to kiss butt. but at least be approachable and pretend to care. We were directed by the ER to have her seen by an orthopedic surgeon within 2 days. We call the following morning and were informed by the answering service that no one would be taking info for appointments until Tuesday morning due to the holiday weekend. Giving them the benefit of the doubt called back at 8:35am on Tuesday morning got stayed on hold (opted not to wait for a call back) approx 40 min and finally spoke to receptionist who told us that she would be contacting Dr. Holtkamp's office and that someone would call us back in the afternoon. Again we gave them the benefit of the doubt, and since no one had called back we tried again just after noon Wednesday this time we went ahead and stayed put in for a call back the indication was 40 min., however the phone did not ring for over 2hr 45min and sadly my wife as not able to answer in time. They left a message that put us back in the cycle. I called back and this time I waited until someone picked up her name was Rebecca, she promised that she would follow up herself and call back the next morning. As of 12:07 we have now been on hold for another 1 hour waiting for someone to pick up. Epic disregard for patient care. My wife has been without pain medication since the injury since the medicine that she was given caused her to itch, the hand on the arm that the fracture is in continues to swell. Can't speak for the doctors but Ortho Illinois scheduling is complete garbage absolutely the worst communications, follow up that i have encountered in any business in my life. The couple times that we have came to the Neurology department we have noticed we have not been…read moretreated equal compared to people of other origins... We show up early or on time and are not seen until late! One of the ladies at the front desk was not willing to help us with a question we had either. We have been exposed to Unethical behavior from this location from a couple individuals. I highly recommend that this is addressed going forward so that there will not be any more concerns with future appointments. If it continues we will look for healthcare elsewhere.
