Right next door to Coors Field is McGregor Square, the city's newest urban playground. You'll find the Milepost Zero food hall surrounding a 17,000-square-foot plaza that hosts year-round events like concerts, festivals and movie nights. The plaza has a stadium-sized LED screen. Catch a game at Tom's Watch Bar, get a bite to eat at Carmine's or browse the books at Tattered Cover Book Store. Or head to Dairy Block , a walkable micro-district in LoDo that contains Denver Milk Market, a diverse mix of culinary concepts, and the Alley, a laid-back place to have a drink.

Nice place to gather before and after a Rockies game. McGregor Square is a 17,000-square-foot outdoor gathering space with a giant LED screen right next to Coors Field. It has office spaces and places to eat like Carmine's, Tom's Watch Bar and Milepost Zero Food Hall. This courtyard hosts festivals, concerts and movies on the LED screen. You can check out the website to see what is playing next on the big screen. I walked around here on a recent trip to Denver. It looks like a fun place to hang out on game days. McGregor Square is named after former Colorado Rockies President Keli McGregor. Self-parking and valet are available at the corner of 20th and Wazee.

First time here and even though it was super cold, the event Avs Winterfest was a blast. We got to bring our own skates and free skate while watching the game.

McGregor Square is a super cool spot in downtown Denver near Coors Field. If you're on the 3rd baseline this is the perfect area to pre-game because you can leave here and walk directly over to that gate -- it's so convenient! It's super cool to watch other sporting events here on the massive screen above. It's high though so you are looking way up especially if you're right underneath it. I watched an Avs game here and it was pretty fun. They also have movie nights and a small grassy hill comfortably farther away. Around the square are several businesses, Tom's Watch Bar and Milepost Zero the food and drink hall. Wish Milepost wasn't so expensive -- ever notice food halls where different vendors share the space you'd think save money by sharing costs are always way super MORE expensive? Hm.

This is really the Gem Of the ballpark neighborhood. After many years of development and then construction, McGregor Square is open! This is a mixed use development designed to bring locals, tourists and baseball lovers together in one place. Hotels. Pubs. Food. Food. Food. Shops. Banking. Tons of outdoor seating options and adjacent access to the ballpark make this a great place before or after a game or a fun spot for an evening hangout on Thursday when they show movies in the square on the massive Jumbotron type screen. The Rally Hotel has some excellent views and a unique baseball themed experience. Rooms are exceptionally well done with a rooftop pool, patio, bar, hot tub hangout vibe. Tattered Cover bookstore brings a touch of history and culture connected to a spacious Starbucks with even more great outdoor seating. We've eaten at The Original and enjoyed. Tom's Watchbar appears to be The Sports-bar Experience for those who want beer, TVs, food and a virtual batting cage. Nearby you have Coors Field, Union Station, Milk Market, LoDo nighttime craziness and walking access to the confluence.

I can say so many good things about this place. Staff is great and friendly. Free coffee/tea, breakfast on weekends also amazing. The gym is also a great addition and is always clean and not too crowded. The mix of people living here varies, young professionals to retired couples, all nationalities and genders. Seems to have several 45-55 year old women who are going through some crisis of trying to be young while being old and are extremely humorous to watch..just make sure to hold your breath while in the elevator with them...their perfume is overwhelming. I can't bring myself to give it 5 stars, I struggled to give it 4, but did due to the location, great staff and cleanliness. The negatives: LOUD LOUD LOUD. regardless of what floor you live on - you will hear loud trains. At all hours of the day (and night). Loud thunderbolt noises as the train cars connect and crash. Screeching metal on metal and train horns ALL the time. The view looking into downtown and Union station is great but extremely loud. FINISHES: the homes have a cool urban feel to them, with high ceilings, cement-ish type finishes and large windows. But the cabinets are cheap, with terrible easily broken handles (think work office coffee room) paying around $625k, you would expect higher quality finishes and higher quality building materials that actually withstand daily use. PARKING: the parking is secure and that is great, however it is tight. It seems as if they didn't plan correctly to space out enough parking for the people that live here. It is extremely tight, and poorly executed. Dimly lighted and not safely set up for driving up/down the different levels. Drivers could easily crash into one another around the corners. Good luck if you are driving anything larger than a fiat or civic.

    Flour Mill Lofts

    Flour Mill Lofts

    (1 review)

    Five Points, Northwest

If the Equitable Building in downtown Denver is the city's finest office building (see earlier…read morereview), then the Flour Mill Lofts, which is listed in the National Registry Of Historic Buildings, is the finest condominium in all the downtown area, and specifically the Central Platte Valley. Ya know, real estate agents are always droning on about, "location, location, location." Well there's no better location to live in town than the Flour Mill Lofts. Sitting as the only building on the eastside of Cuernavaca Park, and looking clear out to the mountains, these true lofts have the equivalent of a 1/2 square mile front yard that includes the Platte River and parks on both sides of the water, all to itself. No other buildings or developments around, and less than a 5 minute walk to Coors Field and LoDo. No more worrying about DUIs picked up on the way home from the bars. Just walk 5 minutes and you're home. The FML is so cool and has so much character and style that nothing else in Denver comes anywhere close. Saved from destruction and re-developed by Dana Crawford--the person who developed Larimer Square back in the 70s--this former "Pride Of The Rockies" flour mill has 2 buildings: the original building that has uniquely designed spaces in the original mill building, itself; and a newly developed building that has modern more "regularly" shaped units. Each morning, before the neighborhood urban preppies to the south in the River Front area wake up from their alcohol-induced nightmares, Cuernavaca Park returns to its wilderness days. More often than not in the very early morning or after dusk when you walk the more than 3/4 mile circle around the park, you'll see fox, beaver, an occasional deer, waterfowl, and even once my honey and I came upon a small black bear, driven downstream by a mountain fire to the west. There's no neater place to live in Denver than the FML, and one day when you've nothing better to do, or if you're looking for the coolest place to live in Denver and want to take a peek at one of the units, call up those nice folks at Kentwood Realty downtown. (Our favorite agent is Jessica Peterson, but they're all nice) .They're the ones that seem to get all the listings in the building--and check out a unit!

It is amazing, walking distance to 5 great supermarkets, dozens of restaurants and bars. It is also just blocks away from several beautiful parks as well as the Botanical gardens, to say nothing of downtown Denver and all it's attractions. When I bought my condo I did buy it assuming the pool was open year around. That does not seem to be the case but as I don't use it in the summer I doubt I would use it in the winter. If I cared one way or the other I guess I would get involved in the association and find out the reasons the pool is closed and if the majority of residents and owners want it opened, see what can be done about opening it in the winter. There is a small area in the front of the building that has been covered with gravel for use by dogs. In this area of the city, there are a lot of dogs, and not much real estate for use by dogs. I'm with dogs as I am with the pool, don't care one way or the other but since there are dogs in the area, short of banning them, I think the Lido is doing a very good job of trying to handle the situation. If the dog owners in the area were all considerate, and most of them are by the way, this would be a total non-issue. I have lived here for one year and I have never seen the rooftop terrace in anything but excellent condition, certainly never with dead grass as in the photo. I would call BS on the building having any foul odors. Absolutely never experienced that problem. I'm not sure if the ventilation problems that cause people to be too cold in the summer and also to sweat from the humidity from the laundry dryers and the showers occur at the same time, as I have never experienced either of these issues. I am unsure if I should be sweating or freezing. Can't comment on the toilets in the common areas as I prefer to use the toilets located in my personal space. Maybe eating less beans would be something to consider? As for the manager, I personally appreciate what he does in the building, anything I have mentioned that is a legitimate issue has been addressed at once. I'm sure he isn't perfect, as very few of us are, but he tries very hard to stay on top of things in this building and does an excellent job of doing so. I very much appreciate keeping the costs down on the building thus keeping the costs down on my HOA fees. I'm very happy with that. The building seems to be very well maintained to me. Finally, as to the look and ambiance in the lobby, this building was built in the 1960's, most of it is still original, which I happen to like. If I wanted to live in some ultra modern building I would probably have bought in such a building. I think the decor is quite nice, and I can absolutely assure you I would resent very much paying for fresh flowers for the lobby on a daily basis when I am there only to check my mail for a few minutes. I'm perfectly ok with some plastic flowers. They look fine to me and aren't being replaced every few days. I prefer to save my money to buy flowers for my own condo if I desire something fresh in my life. I too would like to rate this this building 5 stars but just can't bring myself to do that. I think I will save my 5 star rating for when I live in the penthouse suite of condo where the units start at a few million. In the meantime, I am very happy living in this very nice, affordable condominium full of the nicest people I have ever met. And management who makes a huge effort to stay on top of things while keeping costs down. I highly recommend the Lido Condominiums to anyone who wants to live a very pleasant, yet affordable, lifestyle in an incredible neighborhood. I'm a fan.
