After a long week, I decided to stop and try this place... first of all, they had a live band on a Sunday , and oh boy, what a treat, service was good, the environment was chill and relaxed.. I would 100% recommend it..

Looking for a place to chill... this is it! I'm from New Orleans and I know bars! This place has a great atmosphere. Friendly bar tenders who know the town and have fabulous suggestions on where to eat and shop! Huge selection of flavored Vodkas and the BEST Bloody Mary! They have a pretty good night life ...live bands and DJ's! Just ask to see what's playing. We had such a good experience that we came back!

Bartender offered my wife a few samples of beer so she could pick one she liked. Made a great impression, love the "classic bar" feel

This used to be a fun bar, but the overzealous doorman and poor management make it an unpleasant, stressful experience. A place to avoid.

Having visited the Gold country off and on my entire life, I am kind of used to these neat old buildings that dot The Golden Necklace Highway of 49. But this one was unique. It was multi-leveled though not necessarily two stories. If you've ever been to Nevada City you understand that it's actually fairly steep in its terrain so nothing can be completely flat. So whoever built this back in the day utilized to the natural geography in a really cool way. Inside there is a bar in one area, two separate lower level rooms with completely different feels to each of them. And then of course as you come in there is foyer like gathering area. The market itself was awesome and I'll review that separately. I wasn't able to utilize the bar as there was a long line the entire time and only one or two servers so that was a bit of a disappointment. Most of the food was prepackaged again because of the type of event this was. I am not sure how food would be done here for other events. In terms of facilities the bathrooms were well kept in clean, the whole venue seemed to be well taken care of, the small exhibits that were around were in good condition, and everything seemed to be functioning properly. The lighting is a little dim which was made more apparent given the day was a dreary fall afternoon with lots of cloud cover and rain. So it did make looking at some of the items at the market a little more difficult. I did end up using my cell phone flashlight to get a better look at some items. But overall this is a great place! I love the feel of it and I could see lots of events being very cool here. I think a wedding would be super fun though It might be difficult for those who have accessibility needs. That's the last part I want to add to this, accessibility parking. There's like hardly any. In fact parking in general in this entire area is extremely difficult. The parking lot's not very big and as I mentioned earlier this is a multi-level space. So it's not the most accessible to those who have mobility needs. Granted it was built before ADA and I believe it's historical so it would be very difficult to make some of the adjustments to make it more accessible. But something, anything, needs to be done about the parking.

Fun, clean and friendly great place to hang and have fun with all sorts of different events.read more

When we arrive we had fast lane, however we were told to join the GA line cuz the other line was for artist early entry (we had venue early entry). We were then sent to about 4 different lines before we were finally in the correct one. Once we got through security, the guard for some reason took away my feminine products (they did not have any in the restrooms for my convenience so that was extremely frustrating.) We got to the pit and none of the scanners were working, and then they proceeded to say that it would only work with the barcode, even though we all had our tickets in our Apple wallet, which was the tap, so we needed to all get into Ticketmaster to try to pull up the barcodes which that ended up, delaying the process even more because the service wasn't great. we had gone to get some drinks, and for some reason the venue was completely sold out of straws right off the bat mind you I got drinks at the very beginning after getting into the gates so I had to drink my slushy without a straw, which was not very easy. I do wanna give security props because they were very diligent on making sure us upfront in the pit had water, however, a mosh pit had formed at one point during the show and a kid almost got trampled and we were asking everyone to just take like one step back so he could actually get back onto his feet and they wouldn't and we were asking security to help and they were just shrugging at us.

This place has everything from hard-core punk music to alternative and even EDM DJ sets on their amazing stage. Placerville is privileged to have this modern venue in place now. Food: healthy eaters and particularly plant-based consumers such as level-5 vegans and non-commital vegetarians will be accommodated here. I had a burrito that was stunningly delicious. i went all Danny Devito/Get Shorty and ordered some shit that is not even on the menu!. See, what had happen is dat they took the green goddess burrito and they put the breaded zucchini fries inside the burrito! This had had the effect of making Damn near the best veggie wrap I have ever had had!!!!!!!!! in addition, the bartender trotted out this habanero hot sauce that is in the photo. She was so friendly and accommodating, I decided to had two gin martinis while I was there! I myself was delighted just watching her to do her magic behind the bar. So friendly and that was just what I needed after spending all day working with artificial intelligence. But this was no artificial intelligent! she had helped me brainstorm what could be made vegan on the menu. Zucchini sticks in da wrap naturally!! Did i mention dat? Oh yeah, for you EV driving greenhouse huggers out there you are in luck: There are 3 level 3 chargers at Bank of America just walking distance. I recommend if you have an electric vehicle that you park there, plug into the electrify America juice, and come over here for a drink at the very least You now has the information you need Now git it!!

My review is based on my ticket purchasing/customer service (or lack thereof) experience with HSMF…read moreand not about the festival experience since I never had the chance to attend. I bought tickets for my husband as a 2019 Christmas gift, for the 2020 show. Then Covid hit and they postponed the 2020 show, as did everyone else, and I completely understood. We were so excited for the rescheduled festival in 2021. Then they "postponed" that show too, even though by that point everything had re-opened and all the other festivals and shows were on. I don't know about you, but I've never heard of a 2-year "postponement" and wish we could just call it what it is. Regardless, we planned to finally attend in 2022. And then I found out my brother picked the same weekend to get married, on the east coast. He wasn't even engaged at the time the original event was scheduled to have happened, so I had no way of knowing about this conflict 2 years down the road, and of course the *very* small window to receive a refund had already passed. I am not sure how HSMF got away with offering such a narrow window for 2020 refunds, and so early on (more than a year before the rescheduled show), but they offered zero help or support when I reached out to them about this issue. They informed me I would have to join their Facebook group to sell my tickets since they wouldn't refund me themselves. I joined the group, posted the tickets, and my post was removed so it was not a feasible means of resale. Then I got an email that HSMF was soon to be selling tickets for 2022, so I once again reached out to them and asked very kindly if they could please accept a return on my tickets due to the unprecedented TWO YEAR postponement, a family wedding that I cannot miss, and the fact that they'd be selling these tickets later the same week anyway- why not sell mine too?! But nobody even had the decency to respond to me. It takes a special kind of *insert favorite word for a mean person* to take over $600 from someone during a pandemic, "postpone" the event for two YEARS, not make an exception for such extenuating circumstances, and not even have the decency to reply. Just pocketing the money of music fans without offering any type of genuine humane support or understanding. Needless to say, going forward I will not be supporting a festival that operates in such a way. We've been to music festivals all over the country and never had a negative experience, so there's plenty of good music and festivals out there where people are treated right. Buyer beware!

My friend Jim co-founded this festival many, many moons ago, when I was a youngster. I used to help…read moreout backstage, once carrying two of Steve Kimock's legendary guitars off stage after an epic performance in somewhat cold weather. I remember Steve saying, "It's like playing chickens out there." At the time that made perfect sense. If memory serves, this was the first time a lot of us tried Sierra Nevada beer (back then a sibling on the emerging craft beer scene) and the entire experience was warm and friendly. I never made it back between the early 90s until this year. I am so happy I decided to finally return. The festival has changed locations (a couple of times since) and become a lot bigger and organized. There are scores of bands, too many to see as four or five are playing at once on the different stages, but it is easy enough to walk around and catch a few songs of each. If it's hot, there is a swimming pool $8, or so. And the camping is fun. Pulling in at the beginning can be a bit stressful in sorting out your space, but once the dust settles, it's all dandy. Folks say this is a music festival for musicians, and I agree. But of course all are welcome. I hope to return again.
