Having worked for a franchise tax service for two consecutive years, I can clearly attest that Mr. Evans is by far superior to any tax preparation provided by this franchise; (Jackson-Hewitt). They told us they could do all our book keeping then called to say last minute - no we can't. This year with two returns left to do called and said we no longer feel we're a fit and therefore immediately will be stopping. I could write for an hour but suffice to say DO NOT USE OR RECOMMEND anyone to them as all they care about is purchasing other accounting firms and growing to sell versus any care whatsoever for their clients. If you're a past Paul Dion client like we were you may as well leave now before they cut you off if it doesn't "fit" for them and leave you hanging.

Most times when I called I had to leave a message but William was quick to return my call. He told me upfront at our first meeting what information he needed from me. My taxes were ready before the deadline even though I didn't receive my final K-1 til March 15th. I was pleasantly surprised with what he charged me. William is very fair and easy to deal with. He even found errors on my previous returns as he was reviewing them. I would recommend Mr. Powloka to anyone who needed his services. I will definitely be using Mr. Powloka next year as well. Being a small business and wanting to support another local small business is what brought me to…read moreChamberland in the first place. For the 3 years that I was with them, I was happy with the service and timely fashion that they responded to questions and were able to get my taxes done on time. The start of this year, I was informed that the company had been sold to another company in PA in late 2023. I wasn't thrilled but at least I thought that the local accountants that have worked with me would be staying on board but no, I was sadly mistaken. This company in PA (Prevail) completely gutted the staff that had been loyal to this firm and were outsourcing the jobs to their accountants in PA. This caused my personal and business taxes to be delayed, even though I had all my paperwork in on time. I had to hire a new accountant to finish my returns in a timely fashion since Chamberland notified me that my returns would need an extension while they looked over my file. This was to no fault of my own but now I have had to pay another accountant to finish my taxes and Chamberland ie Prevail refuse to refund me for the work they have not done. It's a shame that a local business not only lost all their staff but what was once a good local business is now not the same.
