Very slow and rude service. We waited 30 minutes for our order to be ready after ordering and two of our items were missing. The customer before us had missing items from her grandkids order, and she left without her drinks when she couldn't get any employees to help. I watched the guy assemble the orders and he took a break after every chicken nugget box he assembled. Very inefficient staff. We will not return to this McDonald's location. read more

I wonder if this place has a new manager or new owners? We always stop here coming and going on trips. This time our visit was exponentially different: 1. Tabletops were dirty; there was a woman who was supposed to be cleaning but she was talking to a customer (and it was obvious that the customer was eating her meal and did not want to hear her non-stop chit chat). Meanwhile, I went and got extra napkins to clean off our table. 2. The food was terrible. Macdonald's is supposed to be consistent. My chicken sandwich was overcooked and shrunken as a result. I could not eat it. 3. The cashier was not what I would call "overly friendly"; I don't want to say rude, but she could have at least asked "may I take your order." 4. I ate and then decided to order a coke. I waited for 5 minutes and no one was there to take my order. There is a sign that says to ask staff for help. The staff member I asked for help was leaning against a food prep table texting on his phone. He just nodded at me and went back to texting. Previously, this MacDonald's was the best. Not sure what is going on but from now on, we'll pass. And I recommend that you do so as well. I do not eat the food at McDonald's because it is not good for anybody of any age. I will enjoy the coffee from time to time and that is probably about once every two years for a coffee. I haven't been to a McDonald's but only three times in the past 32 years. read more

This is the Worst McDonald's in the USA. We waited in the drive through for a long time. Finally someone took our order. We ordered one Diet Coke and two McDoubles. The order on the screen popped up saying two double cheeseburgers. We had no choice but to pull up. When we paid my husband said could you repeat our order? The attendant said, one Diet Coke and two double cheeseburgers. Then my husband said, no we had two McDoubles. She then said, pull up to the next window please and then yelled to the person at the next window, "hey, they just changed their order to two McDoubles!" We pulled up and the woman handed us our food and drink. My husband said, are those 2 McDoubles? She looked at us and said, yeah. There are two. And shut the door. I know the difference between the two burgers is one piece of cheese. However, they were wrong and we were right and they never attempted to correct the order and were rude. We often travel on I40 and there are very few places to eat between amarillo and Albuquerque. NEVER AGAIN! stopped for gas and noticed a McDonald's near by...We decided on some Frankenfood before we hit the road again. They have a bundle menu @$3 for mix and match...I asked the young man taking orders , can I bundle a McChicken and a Fish fillet and two small fry no salt. He said yes. We got the receipt and it's 16 dollars and some change. Ordered at 12:18pm on Sunday December 1st. Got my food 40 minutes later. Cold. The woman who was the manager was giving the worst customer service to EVERY person in the lobby. They kept the drive through moving, but not the lobby. Manager in the back was brought out by nice young woman to assist with customer refunds. read more

Went here on the road to and from out vacation. Clean and fast! Best place we stopped in New Mexico.

This location has to be newly renovated and under new management because it is spotless and has great service. We chose to wait here for a few hours due to a multi-vehicle crash and closure on I-40 W due to a snowstorm. The management kept us updated on road closures and recommended we not take an alternate route due to Road conditions. Our usual McD fare was perfect and the coffee was kept full during our wait! We stopped here to eat because it was what we could get in a hurry while traveling during covid. We were greated immediately by the employee. The inside was very clean and the restrooms were also clean. We ordered food for six people. All the food was correct to our order and was given to us promptly. On our drive from CA to MO and back, we stopped at several McDonald's. We had no disappointing experiences until we came to this one. We decided to go in, but returned to the vehicle first to get masks. Once inside, there were 3 parties ahead of us waiting to order. Most didn't have masks on, even though there was signage outside requiring them. We waited 21 minutes to place our order and less than 5 to receive it. The girl at the counter would unenthusiastically take one order and then walk away for a bit before coming back to take the next. Fries were warm, no sauce for the 10 pc McNuggets, soda was too flat to drink. One star for a clean restroom. Ok food, friendly people, bad execution. During the same visit: 1. Order was taken incorrectly. Had to go back to get tartar sauce. 2. Apples in kids meal were in an open package. Had to go back a second time. 3. No soap in restroom. Glad we had hand sanitizer in the car. I had the chicken artisan sandwich and a pecan praline iced coffee, and enjoyed both. We decided to stop at this location (Santa Rosa, NM) on a long roads trip to treat our kids for being so good on the road... we should have just stuck it out and drove on past! It took over 20 minutes in line to order with only 4 people in front of us, the food was in no way fresh in fact it was not even warm. Fries and Nuggets cold are GROSS! The restroom was not good and for a family restaurant there was no diaper changer... how is that even possible? The staff was unfriendly and was obviously way UNDERSTAFFED! My memory of this McDonald's is that it courted the edge of a desert butte, elevated above the eroding remains of Route 66. The burgers were instantiations of a Platonic ideal, perfect squares of sculpted chuck ensconced between two oven-bronzed discs. After many unplanned hours at the wheel without any nourishment whatsoever, something so simple, so generic, was welcome. I know, now, that the restaurant I remember dining at does not exist in any material form. After reviewing satellite footage, Google Street View, and the aggregated photographs of others, I am certain that this is the McDonald's geographically closest to where I stopped; nevertheless, there is no such butte in Santa Rosa, or any other nearby town. I've since hypothesized that, like Bugs Bunny before me, I took a wrong turn at Albuquerque, and veered off course into a fata morgana. Thereafter, I drove just above the horizon for untold miles, eventually stopping to dine beneath a set of arches reflected by the sands below. If so, it is unclear where exactly along my path the mirage again merged with the Earth. The fulcrum at which these two realms connect is always visible in the desert, a distant blur like water on pavement that can never quite be reached. Given such asymptotic behavior, I have to accept it as altogether possible that I never actually arrived in Santa Rosa, and was instead devoured by my own fantasy. Perhaps the highway patrol found my desiccated remains weeks later with a stomach full of sand. If you find the restaurant that I remember out there, then I wish you the best, but please, take heed of this message. And, if you find what's left of me out there, I hope that you'll consider giving me a proper burial. read more
