Lard help my waistline, and forgive me for I have sinned in gluttony. Dougies grill looks pretty unassuming from the outside, all bar the afore mentioned signage. It never looks very busy. I've been here once before and thought it was O.K. That was before my crusade for the holy burger grail. The staff there were, although attentive immediately, rather non-plussed by their job. I asked if the chilli she offered was hot or not, and she just shrugged. I opted for a little bit, and Im glad I did... i assume this is Dougie's sauce which is mentioned on the menu. I got the Aussie burger which costs $7.95. Seems steep, but when we compare to most gourmet burger prices, which I shall mention in other reviews, this is but a fraction of the cost for a burger, that to my mind was excellent. I admit I added more mayo when I got back to the lunch room, but that's just a personal preference and I didnt ask for extra. Burger tasted chargrilled but with the right amount of seasoning. It doesnt look at all like a fancy burger, but trust me, it tasted awesome. it contained all the things youd expect from an aussie burger aka beetroot and BBQ sauce. Conveniently near the train station. Stop in next time youre in Kogtown . you wont regret it.

It can get busy but most of the you should be able to grab a seat. All good the Burgers, fries and salads look so fresh and taste it too ... presentation above average and general feeling in store quite relaxed!!

Later on Ilker brings out one of those hoverboard things and spins around the store on it. Why can't all food be this fun? There are 22 burgers on the menu, including one called The Herbert. I can barely count to 22. You know what's important in a good burger? Balance. You can have all kinds of crazy stuff and one giant patty and whatever, but for mine everything needs to be in proportion and work together, and the cunningly named Single Decker did just that - juicy thin patty, cheese, pickles, mustard, sauce and bun that all meld into a hand grenade of deliciousness. Just pull the pin and throw it at your face. Can't wait to try more. Full disclosure: a colleague bought this burger for me. Oh, and the results of the man vs food challenge? Close, but no cigar: 2.5 cheese-slathered patties left on the table.

There usually one or two chicken options, and one or two vegetarian options, but this place had so much to choose from, I couldn't decide and had to ask the friendly owners which they recommended. How could I go past a burger that specifically listed pickles as one of the ingredients. PICKLES!! The Herbert was incredibly, and luckily I went the healthy option of wholemeal bread! (Make that a diet coke, I'm watching my weight) Haven't you heard? It makes all the difference. The chips were addictive; damn that chicken salt. Add to it the amazing dip options and I was shoveling those in my mouth non-stop. There was pickle mayo, guys...PICKLE mayo! I will definitely be back to try some of the other chicken burgers and/or the lamb burgers and definitely the pickle mayo again. Maybe I can order a glass of pickle juice.

I was blown away by the size of the venue - massive, cozy, different styles of seating including round booths perfect for larger groups, fireplace, 2 kitchens (one for wood-fired food such as burgers and pizza and roast chicken and one normal kitchen). Could fit couple hundred of people?! Also impressive was the food. Crispy buffalo wings made with Frank's hot sauce (super legit!), massive chicken parmis smothered in melted cheese, great burgers. I got the 1/2 Portuguese chicken with peri peri sauce... DELICIOUS! Plus, the prices were definitely lower than Sydney prices but I guess it's more in the suburbs. For dessert I ordered the sticky date pudding. It wasn't the best, but the vanilla ice cream made up for that :) We'll be back! Looking forward to eating my way through the menu.

They also have a store in Qld and a couple of express stores. We visited Hurricanes at their Brighton Le Sands location. Brighton Le Sands is one of the lesser known waterfront dining areas in Sydney. Hurricanes has a prime spot there, right on the waters edge, boasting views of our historical Botany Bay. It also has views of the airport and aeronautical enthusiasts can enjoy planes taking off over the bay. It is spacious venue with floor to ceiling glass to take advantage of the views. It is extremely large with plenty of tables and 2 bars and open plan so you could easily host a large party and they are booked up with 350 people for New Years Eve. We arrived right on noon and it was just opening. We were promptly taken to our table, right at the windows with a lovely outlook. We perused the menu and staff updated us with the daily specials. Hurricanes are famous for their ribs and steaks and they use a unique basting sauce to provide a lovely flavour to their meats. Meat cuts are all halal certified from their suppliers and can have no sauce upon request. They also offer plenty of steaks on the menu, salads and a range of appetisers too. They may not be known first and foremost as a seafood restaurant, but there's plenty of seafood options too. Our visit to Hurricane's saw us try some of these seafood options, beginning with the scallops. Perfectly cooked, the scallops were served in the open shell, atop sweet potato purée, resembling the look of roe. We thoroughly enjoyed this start to the menu. Following on from this, we ordered one of the specials, the grilled whole barramundi. It was soft and flaky, with the flesh falling from the bone. We enjoyed this with lemon and a side salad. We couldn't go past ordering a steak, which Hurricanes are notorious for. There's numerous meats and cuts to select from. Whether it be the rump, strip stirloin, fillet tenderloin or T bone, you will find your perfect match. Wagyu, dry aged or long fed beef, Hurricanes sure know their meats. We went for the dry aged beef, aged for 21 days, served as a strip loin on the bone (400g), the flavour was lovely and it was cooked spot on to our request. Meats come with your choice of fries, salad or baked potato and you can order a sauce to accompany it. Hurricanes also serve other main menu items like beef cheeks, lamb cutlets, pork knuckle, grilled chicken, burgers and more. There's also combo deals like steak and ribs or meat or seafood platters. There's desserts and cocktails to top off your dining experience. The menu is certainly extremely approachable so we imagine it would satisfy any dining party.

My flight back to LA was in the morning, so I didn't have time to eat before I got to the airport…read more Hence, I had to find some breakfast at the International Terminal. I had read that there were fewer food options to choose from after security, so I decided to get a bite at the food court before customs. Came across this Hungry Jack's in the T1 food court and decided to give it a try. If you are not from Australia, you probably don't recognize this brand name. But you might if you saw the logo. That is because Hungry Jack's is the Australian name for Burger King. The Jack in the company name is derived from the first name of the owner of the BK fast food franchise in Australia. The Hungry Jack's menu has a lot of the same offerings you find at Burger King like the signature Whopper burger. As it was the morning though, I had to choose from the breakfast menu offerings. Offerings here are pretty comparable to what you will find at McDonald's. Since I want to try something different when I am visiting an out of country fast food chain, I decided to try the promo, Brekky Hero value meal ($7.50). The sandwich comes with a hash brown and your choice of coffee drink. I decided to get a latte, which came from a coffee machine. The Brekky Hero was interesting as the bun was like the ones that BK uses for their chicken sandwiches, except the toppings inside contained bacon, eggs, cheese and a hash brown. It was pretty filling for a breakfast sandwich and the price for the meal was reasonable given that this is the airport. It seems like Hungry Jack's has better pricing than the McD's at the airport. If you are looking for inexpensive food to fill you up before your flight out, this Hungry's Jack is a good option. It is close to the entrance to customs, so it is conveniently located if you are in a rush to grab a meal before heading airside.

Playing homage to their Turkish origin the Brothers boys ensure all their kebabs are of genuine Turkish quality with only the best meats on offer including beef, lamb and chicken to mix and match with the fillings of your own choice - including tabouli, lettuce, onion, cheese, tomato and more - to create the ultimate kebab to suit your tastebuds. Prices are average starting from $8.50 for a kebab and extra for special fillings, which may seem steep but at the end of the day, how can you put a price on absolute satisfaction? And for just an extra $3.50 make sure you order hot chips as a side, their slightly lemony flavoured chicken-salted chips are a definite must. But to make things even better, the kebab shop is open til late for all those party goers looking for a late night feed after a big night out.
