I have to say that the chicken burger was perfectly prepared and so nicely seasoned that I didn't need the mayo or relish. The side order of slaw was also quite fresh and tasted great! With a Coke Zero the entire order came to more than 14 GBP which is on the pricey end...however, I would certainly pay it again if the service and quality stay at these levels! The food was up with the usual good standards of GBK; juicy burgers, generous toppings, and oh - those sweet potato fries and bacon aioli. Bacon aioli! It is marvellous. I want to dip everything I ever eat in bacon aioli. GBK are going through a bit of a makeover at the moment, and this is the first I have seen with the new, brighter decor. Given the restaurant here is brand new, everything feels nicely fresh and clean. There were scrabble tiles designating everything from the M/F bathrooms, the staff areas, and otherwise spelling out amusing messages around the building. The waiting staff are all full of energy and chattiness and make the whole thing that little more pleasant. Oh, and whilst there's a good amount of seats downstairs, there was a whole other bar and area upstairs. I think they may rent out some of it as private space, but it looks a great size and just as airy and bright as the downstairs. It keeps some classic elements like the peg-letter sign board, but the whole place has a fresh and modern design that is clearly down to being able to fit in a new build space. The staff were really friendly, welcoming, & genuine. The burgers were standard GBK delicious! Just as yummy as I expect from this chain. I was happy to see the sweet potato fries with bacon aioli are on the menu here as they are just divine. I could put that bacon aioli on almost anything - it's that good. Definitely a nice spot to grab a bite before the cinema and a happy overall addition to the central Wandsworth area!
