Watched as the young, but experienced chef started cooking the meat on low heat, allowing the Garlic to be absorbed, then turning up the heat to seal in the flavor. Great Technique! It was served piping hot with careful presentation. They have great burger selections, and other amazing-sounding appetizers as well. The place was busy, but they were fully staffed and service was fast and our drinks/food came out quickly. A live band played outside, but it was acoustic and the volume was very reasonable. I wanted to buy locally roasted coffee beans for home and this turned out to be the best place to buy them. I bought two 8oz bags, $14 and $15 respectively. Compare that to 787 Coffee that wanted $30 for a similar sized bag (even more for their alcohol infused beans!). Gustos also sold 2lb bags of beans if you really need to make a lot of coffee. Sadly, the roasting date was not stamped on any of the bags. The cold brew coffee was good. The French toast was mediocre -- the bread was sliced too thin, with very little batter on the exterior, and zero saturation inside the bread. The fresh blueberries and grated coconut were nice, but the syrup tasted cheap. My wife had the Gustos and it was delicious. We saw others with avocado toast and it looked tasty too. We bought little bags of dried plantains on a whim at the counter -- turns out they were $3 each. Otherwise, prices were very reasonable.

I have to say that this was my favorite experience of our recent visit to Old San Juan. It's just a…read morebeautiful walk that starts near Calle del Recinto Sur at the end of the fort wall. You'll immediately see a tree and lantern lined street with many local vendors and benches. I'm not sure if they're set up there on a daily basis or not. We saw them on a Saturday morning. You'll eventually get to the promenade called Bastion de la Derecha de San Justo y Pastor. This is where you'll find the American Heritage Plaza, Children's Park, Princess Garden, and the old prison that is now a tourism company. The real draw is the Raices Fountain and the beautiful view of the ocean & fortified walls. But, it doesn't end there. The promenade continues on along the fortress wall that leads you to a very bizarre park with a public artwork by Carmen Inés Blondet called Crecimiento ("Growth"). Honestly, I thought it was some kind of historical spiked barrier to ward off enemies. It's definitely interesting to see. It's a beautiful walk that takes you under the Garita del la Fortaleza which is actually where I snapped a great picture of the San Juan Gate during one of our previous visits. We knew at that point that we were close to the prize. The Puerta de San Juan presented itself to us. It's a beautiful sight to see. There's a small pier as well as a park that is dedicated to Isabella I of Castile. She's a very significant figure in the discovery of Puerto Rico. At this point, you can choose to walk through the gate to connect to the old convent and cathedral or walk along Paseo del Morro. Just keep in mind that there is construction going on right now on the castle path. This means that you'll have to turn back around and exit at the gate. The reopening of this path is something to look forward to in the future. It's a nice way to see El Morro from a different perspective. It was time worth spent on a cool & breezy Saturday morning with lots to see along the way. A great relaxing walk for residents and travelers alike.

Prices are cheap, under $10, but it does not lack quality. I was very impressed with the place, service, and Vanessa, our art teacher. I arrived after a long day at the beach. They had our tables ready, with paint, aprons, and the canvases. The whole price for one person is $35 but there are 'Gustazos' (a Puerto Rican groupon) and if you call the restaurant and ask, they will actually tell you if there are some available! There were several 2-for-1 deals, which made the difference since we were a group of 8. The teacher taught us to make a hip non-traditional christmas tree step by step but the idea is that you make it your own and she's there to guide you if you need it. My mom made this very funny and 'basic' tree that we couldn't stop making fun of and there were others whose art I admired and helped me choose the right colors. The class had ~20 people and everyone was friendly, (it is also BYOB) It was both fun and enriching experience Painting is a blast! I am sure there is no place in PR where you can do this. I originally booked 2 spaces for one of their classes online, the week of the event a third friend wanted to join and a tried calling to be able to add her to our reservation. It took 3 days to finally reach someone, just for them to tell me that there were no more spaces available for the date I purchased so I asked if I could change dates which he agreed. A couple of days later I received 2 codes via email so I could reserve the new dates. I went online to their webpage and was able to book the second date with the codes they sent me AND buy a third one for my friend. A day passed and I realized that I didn't receive a confirmation email for the 3 new reservations so I emailed (and called) them asking them to confirm the new date. Three days later they sent an email saying that the reservations were not confirmed and that not only I couldn't use the codes they sent, the third reservation I paid for didn't even appear. Completely confused, I called, text, and emailed countless times during the period of 3 days to be able to solve the problem, with no response. To sum up the whole experience, they kept all my money (3 tickets worth) and I was never able to attend the class, they have 0 customer service, non-responsive and completely unprofessional. Please stay away from these thieves, there are better options out there.

Finally we find 2 shirts that we liked and 1 shirt was from the 3 for $10 section. he charged us 13 or 14 per Tshirt x 2. When i asked whether 1 of 2 was the 3 for $10 he said, " no it is not" .. immediately followed by "i would be happy to put it back on the rack for you". WOW...OK! ...and if you are spending 13-14 per shirt, i recommend that you go to another store with better quality and selection. we searched thru the "back wall" of 3 for $10 and most had a black dot about 1.5" diameter in some part of the shirt. We managed to find 1 that did not have the black dot thinking it was 3 for $10 but that tured out to be $13-$14 so as you see if you are spending 13-14 then go to another store with better selection, quality and hopefully you will not encounter such terse treatment.

I ended up falling in love with and buying a 3/4th size electric classical guitar that has a near full size neck with build into equalizer and tuner. It also came with a gig bag and an extra set of strings, all for about $150 +tax. This is my 5th or 6th guitar, and so far, has been worth every penny! I've taken her to four open mics so far and it's been a wonderful little addition to my lineup. Thanks to The Music Store for an awesome and unexpected guitar buying experience!
