The quarter pounder is no longer a quarter pounder. It is the same size as the single patty cheese burger for three times the cost! The bread is hard and crunchy. This McD has obviously been recently remodeled and it looks beautiful! In fact, was was chatting with one of builders who worked on it. You could tell he was proud as he snapped pics for his portfolio. I don't think I've ever had more fun waiting for my food at a McDonalds....the staff was having "too much fun" and cracking jokes ...all the while, working their butts off. I appreciate JJ's friendliness and sense of humor. The rest of the staff I encountered was equally nice. Check this place out. It's a good one. read more

Filthy. Not one table was suitable to sit at. Bathroom was filthy with trash cans were overflowing. The drink station was out of ice and so much sticky buildup on the levers I didn't even want to put my cup against it. This was at 9:30 am on a Sunday. It was very apparent that this lack of cleanliness is a chronic problem at this location, not just a one time situational issue due to a customer rush. read more

Stopped by for what ought to have been a quick grab and go on my way to an Ottawa Braves baseball game. It was easy to place a McOrder via the automated kiosks however for whatever reason, it took a long time (nearly 15 minutes) for it to be ready. Not a huge deal since I figured that meant everything was being McMade as I waited and that my food would be hot and fresh. Unfortunately, I was only half McCorrect...the fries were fresh but the quarter pounder had been McSitting around for awhile. Oh well...McDonalds in general is awlays hit or miss with a built-in low ceiling/low floor as far as expectations are concerned. So the 2-star rating for this one seems to match what others describe here. I probably won't return anytime McSoon. read more

McDonald's in ottawa is the slowest moving "fast food" restaurant I have ever been to. Their drive thru line is like being in a parking lot. The line hardly moves. It takes five minutes to get your change, employees appear to be standing around talking to their peers and are extremely rude. Hire people who care about their job! Not spending 40 minutes in a drive thru line. Do better!! read more

I hate this McDonalds. Enough said! The people behind the counter are stupid and rude. Mostly they are high school students who want money for drugs (trust me, i went to the school where they go). They don't care abotu customer service just about getting money somehow. Typically the food is cold and they forget something (straws, sandwiches, fries or your WHOLE MEAL!) The drive through is terrable. On the night of my high school winter formal we stopped here after the dance to get food. By the time we ordered, paid and got our food I was able to take my hair down; whichhad 150 bobby pins in it! That would be over half an hour. They are like this all the time. It doesn't matter if it is lunch time and they are packed or if you are the only one in line. And god help you if you order chicken!! Was in the area, so I stopped in to get a little lunch. First of all I had been to this location previously before the remodeling. This is my first time visiting after the remodeling and it looks pretty nice inside. They have to pay machines so that you don't have to stand in long lines you can place your order and then wait for it to be ready which I think is kind of cool. They also have two flat screen TVs which is something I've never seen at a McDonald's before. However the counter seems a little unsafe. It's smaller it only has two registers and it has a huge gap that opens to the back with a cook are and behind the counter. When I saw that I asked the girl behind the counter I said" aren't you worried about criminals being able to just walk back here?" She said no we really haven't had a problem, and I'm thinking, why wait till there is one why not think ahead and prepare so that you don't have to face one? The service could be a little better. I stood there for 10 minutes before worker turned around to even look at the front to see that a customer was standing there. As far as the food, what can I say? It is McDonald's. But I do like the renovations they just need to renovate the customer service. read more

Drive thru had 5 cars. It took 34 minutes to get two cheeseburgers, a Diet Coke, and some fries with ketchup on the side. I attempt to come here whenever I am in a rush but I never get out on time, ever. No matter how busy or how slow it's always a hassle. I do not often review McDonald's chain restaurants because they are by nature all the same. The reason for McDonald's popularity out of an era of mom-and-pop diners and dives was that McDonald's built its popularity upon the principle that a customer could visit any McDonald's and expect a uniformity for service and quality. The McDonald's of Ottawa is noteworthy because of its failure to meet the standards of the McDonald's chain. The primary reason for this failure can be attributed to service. The woman who was operating the counter was unpleasant, rude, and inefficient. Her ability to manage the queue of people was remarkably bad, including allowing a woman (whom I assume was a local regular) to cut to the front of the line ahead of others waiting to place their orders. (Certainly, this woman--addressed by name by the employee as Laura--was quick, only ordering a beverage, but the fast food industry rather relies on the idea of a line; to disregard a queue during lunch is just remarkably rude to those who are waiting). When I ordered from the extra value meal by number with the variation that my Quarter Pounder with Cheese be served without cheese, the woman at the counter scowled at me and queried "So, you mean you want a Quarter Pounder meal?!" (Well sure, but that's not listed on the menu). Her pushing of the super-sizing option was obnoxiously forceful. The quality of the food was below average for McDonald's. The french fries were insufficiently salted, not as warm as they ought to be, and less than crispy. I would not have stopped here if I had not been on a road trip, but in the future I will wait until the next highway exit for a McDonald's burger. Every restaurant in the chain is supposed to be the same, but if this were par for the fastfood chain, I'd abandon burgers all together! read more

I'm glad I didn't go by the reviews because they are way off base. I go to this McDonalds on a pretty regular basis and get good service and the food is always hot. The staff for the most part are friendly and do try to give good service. It does floor me when another customer in front of me gets mad because their food is not ready right after they order it, then they get mad and rude with the staff and expect a smile in return. Somme of these reviewers need to work in the fast food service industry and then see if they have the same opinion. Some people need to get a life. read more

The service there is absolutely horrendous! If you go there and you want to order something to go just plan on waiting an extra 15 minutes before you receive your food. When I was there it wasnt busy at all and I could see that they were not in any way short staffed. There are also one older gentleman and one older lady that seem to set up their own personal entertainment center. So everyone knows how Mcds works you go through the drive through line get your food it all tastes the same everywhere but this place puts a spin on that and you can count on it every time!
