Gochujang is like a Korean food condiment, a combination fermented soybean and red chili pepper. Has some umami with a zing to it. Sadly, you could barely taste the gochujang, which really ended up being some chopped pork belly in a bun. The tater tots were great though, golden and crispy. Service was friendly. We ordered pork rinds and pimento for appetizers. Hubs ordered the Hot Marion with tots and I ordered the veggie on sourdough with fries. When the pork rinds arrived I was shocked at the size! It's plenty of food!! The pork rinds are crispy and flavorful. Given the amount of pork rinds we snacked on both of us ate half our sandwiches. It's so much food! The Hot Marion is very mild but tasty. The veggie sandwich had fresh veggies and was quite refreshing. The goat cheese complemented the sandwich well. Great service and great food. Definitely stop in! There is street parking and a public lot nearby.

Their tables are set with just a fork in a sanitary bag so you have to ask for a knife and a spoon for coffee. Also butter does not come with your biscuit/toast either. You have to ask for it. Speaking of toast, it's not even toasted. I think it's thrown on the cooktop and barely warmed. It's the little things that should be expected of a restaurant that I have complaints about.

On our first visit I had eggs over easy, liver mush,rye toast,hash browns and ice tea. My wife had eggs over easy, biscuit, gyro meat, hash browns and ice tea. Everything was perfect. Our waitress Kayla explained to me that the liver mush was locally made and it was delicious! My wife said the gyro meat was authentic and I tried some and it was great. This is also the first time in a loooong Time that my hash browns were cooked correctly. Brown and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Kayla (our waitress ) was super nice and we found out that she lives near us! The cook was a pro and even said good bye when we left. I highly recommend Bessie's and look forward to our next meal there!
