Patatas deluxe, cafe cappuccino, tentación Ibérica

I honestly try my best to stay away from Mickey Ds Stateside. There really are better burger places I'd rather go to. Cafe Dolce was a pleasant surprise though. This is the part of McDonald's where you can get macarons as well as croissants. You order directly at the counter. For the main part of the restaurant, there's also a kiosk you can place your order from in case you don't care to stand in queue. I've noticed that in most establishments here, the toilets are located on the second floor. It was clean and stocked well. For a quick breakfast before our trip to Toledo I ordered the Tentacion Iberica (breakfast sandwich with Iberico ham), patatas deluxe and cafe capuccino.

More expensive but more delicious compared to US. We enjoyed the potato wedges and the chicken sandwich. The app doesn't have an English version but it is very similar to US so I could place an order by guessing.

Most people would wonder why we would take the time to visit an American Chain in Spain on vacation. This McDonald is not like others in the USA. It is the epicenter of Gran Via St.- a district which houses food, shopping, and major city points to locals and visitors. It's a two story MCD's where everyone from families and teens to tourists and elderly stop to have a snack and rest their legs. It's a special MCD. I enjoyed seeing the differences (McCafe is actually a bakery counter! with Crossiants and macaroons!) and they have expresso with ice cream and gazpacho in a bottle and mc chicken bites and croquettes. It was plain FUN. Even the soda/pop options were different and there was 5 different types of coffee/expresso etc. I liked ordering and paying at the touch screen kiosks. I think these are starting to migrate to the US also.

Wow, I'm amazed. Coming from north america, I thought I had McDonald's all figured out (cheap, fast food joint where the food is way too greasy and the employees look like they don't want to be here) but I was surprisingly impressed when I walked through the doors here. You are first greeted with a marble staircase and really marble everywhere, and all the employees look like they enjoy their job because they were actually SMILING. Over a few visits, i was able to try a number of items that you can't get in Canada: - fritatta breakfast sandwiches - pineapple slices - queso burgers - patatas bravas - ham croquettes - gelato - macarons To my surprise, the portion sizes are actually a normal size and all the foods are not laced in grease. Even though this is a fast food joint, you definitely need to try this McDonald's - it will blow your hometown's McD's out of comparison.

    Chicken Wings and beer!

This is the nicest McDonalds I have ever been to! It has a marble staircase to upstairs seating. It's super clean and they serve beer. Yes that's right I ordered Beer and Chicken wings at McDonalds. The beer was good and the chicken wings were crispy, meaty and had a nice seasoning. I didn't ask for sauce, so not sure if they have any, but I'd order them again. Many menu items not available in the states. Wedge potatoes, croquettes, chicken bites, gazpacho, and many different burger choices. A great lunch for cheap!

Just a cool photo I wanted to share ;-)

Why is McDonalds so damn good in Spain? I'm glad it's greasy and terrible back in the states or I'd be tempted to have it more often. As it is, it's a welcome respite when you're starving and just want a quick burger and fries. Like Allen J. said in his review, this place is all class. The McCafe inside serves chocolate-dusted cappuccinos in real coffee mugs. You can get "patatas deluxe" (potato wedges) instead of fries with your meal, and they're amazing. They even come with their own special dipping sauce. Bonus: The upstairs seating offers great views of the city at night!

This is a very large mcdonalds with a seperate Mcafe Area and Outdoor seating located near to The Grand Via Metro Station. It actually looked rather posh for a Mcdonalds with its size and multiple staircases, so I expected big things however my expectations were not lived up to. My Iced Caramel Macchiato was horrible, the flavoring and milk were all not stirred and still after stirring myself I was getting mouthfuls of undissolved flavouring syrup, the drink tasted milky and horrible. The only positives I can think for this store is the computerised ordering system and that they have Wifi but even with these 2 positives I cant rank the store higher than 1 star because simply the awful quallity I reveived I have never been a fan of the Mcdonalds franchise and this just worsens my opinion of the food chain.

It stayed with me for a few hours. The cheddar (switched from provolone), bacon and onions on the burger worked well together. I ended up wishing the cheddar was stronger and the arugula was non-existent. The highlight of it was the truffle sauce which blended with everything including the boiled potatoes and my wife's fries. Her sweet and a bit spicy Iberian pork was juicy, but the fries were a disappointment. They had too much crust and were a bit over done. Just to note the area this restaurant was located was almost as crowded as Time Square on New Year's Eve due to the Holidays, so they may have been busier than normal.

It could have been smoother had they just communicated about it, but that did not happen. We eventually got someone to settle our check. The food was great. The Beef Low Loin was seasoned well, but slightly undercooked so the chew was hard to get through. The fries were light and crisp and overall good. The Homemade Brownie was delicious with the Butterscotch ice cream. I wish the brownie would have been hot; that would have put it over the top.

They offer outside seating which I always opt for if available. The interior is modern and cool (a bit small) The menu of the day is usually the reason for my visit to Cokuy. They seem to always have paella on their menu of the day, served in a personal sized pan with mussels, calamari, chicken and shrimp. The seafood isn't necessarily fresh but the paella is still tasty. Pictured below is the second course, chimichurri skirt steak with fries. The fries are the best I've had in Madrid. The skirt steak was so tough though that I could barely eat it apart from the edges. My friend had the roasted chicken which was delicious. My advice is just skip the skirt steak, everything else is tasty!

Well...I think that he was in the Twilight Zone because this meal was totally different. The wings were nothing to write home about. Small pieces and the BBQ sauce wasn't even tossed with the wings; they were more like drizzled on. The chicken tenders were probably the worst I have ever had...I don't see them selling a lot and they had a vinegary taste to them. After 1/2 bite, I had enough...And the oil they fried everything in was old and the food absorbed it. The burgers finally came and they looked like something we make at a home barbecue. Nothing special. The bun fell apart. The meat was practically raw, as you can see from the pictures. The bacon was fried to a crisp and was like eating a bacon potato chip. And the fries were good, salty, crispy and oil soaked...Complimented the sub-par hamburger. I guess quality and value isn't on the menu cause I didn't see it in our meal.
