Despite recently painting the shop a rancid orange colour, Harun's remains the best takeaway in Southport for you to greedily stuff your mouth with greasy goodness in the early hours of the morning. The food there is well made and delicious albeit not particularly cheap (damn you Southport) and the staff there are friendly and will happily talk with you for hours about good Turkish footballers (believe me; it happens every week when we go). They also have a punching machine in there (perhaps to curb the violent enthusiasm of the Southport residents) which causes much hilarity at three in the morning when my mates decide to show each other who can hit something the hardest. I walk out the door and then a customer calls me back in.. OH THE GIRL behind the counter wants to talk to you. I go back in and the girl then spends 5 minutes accusing me of being a thief, and trying to walk out without paying for my food. I explained 4 times i did pay..NO YOU DIDNT PAY!! she then proceeded to ask me if i did pay how much did i pay? i told her... she then said OH what was your order? i explained... oh sorry my mistake i gave you the wrong food... so having spent 5 minutes humiliating me in public, telling me i had tried to walk out without paying she then played it off as no big deal, its my fault i do this all the time.
