Don't panic, there were four of us sharing all of the items. We tried about 4 causes and we all fell for the Joppie on the fries. Joppie appears to be a mix of mayo, onion, curry, and a few other things depending on the recipe. We even found Joppie flavored chips later in the week. For my American friends wondering about the interesting options on the menu . . . here's a little intel: I fell in love with the bitterballen. Crispy on the outside and almost gooey on the inside. I could have eaten them my entire trip and never tired of them. Crispy, warm, savory, meaty, yummy. Cheese tengels. Imagine a small, narrow cheese-filled fried spring roll. Order more than you think you'll want. They are fabulous. Kipcorn. Imagine a chicken stick, breaded with crushed cornflakes, and deep fried. Yeah. They're good. Not particularly exotic - you'll be reminded of a fried chicken patty from the uSA. Frikandel. A deep fried sausage (hotdog style). Tasty. Prices are good. The place was incredibly busy. We grabbed our items and then had to hover near the few benches near by to sit down and eat. Because we tried one or two of several things, we had a lot of things to pass and share. Kids also got milkshakes and thought they were really good. Everything was fresh and tasty and decently priced. Fries are crispy. Fries are gluten free. Restaurant is pork-free.

They make the fries from every day fresh potatoes and the potatoes are almost free of dark spots, because the remove them by hand, after the mashine washed and peeled them. Nederlands Onze laatste dag in het mooie Haarlem was bijna afgelopen om 4 uur zouden wij de bus pakken en richting het vliegveld. Mijn man had echter nog trek en wou wat eten, effe een snelle hap. We liepen onze hotel uit en vroege een voorbijganger aan om te vragen of hij een goede patatzaak kende, deze vriendelijke jonge man zei "The best Frites of Haarlem is that of the Vlaminck at the Warmoesstraat". We pakde onze kaart erbij en gingen zoeken, wat bleek de zaak is maar 5 min van onze hotel. De jongen maakt praatje met ons en vraagt waar we vandaan komen. Na gezellig gepraat te hebben met de jonge kregen wij onze patatje. Het zag werkelijk heerlijk uit, mooie grote frieten. De frieten waren perfect gebakken, ze waren heerlijk van smaak. Je kan gewoon proeven dat de frieten vers zijn. Na heerlijk gegeten te hebben gingen we de jonge bedanken voor die heerlijke friet en zijn gastvrijheid. Hij vroeg ons of wat nog wouden zien hoe het gemak wordt. We besloten om mee te gaan en zagen een oudere man die bezig was met het schillen en snijden van de aardappelen. Wij hebben de jongen (Aziz) beloofd dat wij zeker nog keer terugkomen, wat dit werkelijk de lekkerste patat die ik heb gegeten. Absoluut de moieite waard om te bezoeken.
