Too low temperature of food. Just for little kids tastes. Hate it. Wish there were fewer.

The parking lot in front isn't huge, but if you can handle stairs, there's more parking in back,…read morejust follow the sign. A note on the door pointed out a $2 surcharge on all dishes that included eggs (fair!). I was greeted immediately after walking in and told to choose my seat (there's a sign that says wait to be seated, but it was a weekday and there was only one group in there). The server brought me a menu and took my drink order right away. She was willing to take my food order quickly, too, but I let her know I'd be camping out, so she gave me time to settle in and enjoy my coffee. There's music juuust loud enough to be recognizable if you're not talking to someone. That's perfect, I don't like loud music you have to shout over. The cowboy Benedict HIT THE SPOT. And the sunny side up eggs were perfectly runny. In a combined dish like this, some restaurants will load up on potatoes or biscuits for volume... but the steak was the star of the show portion wise, and there was a nice complement of the rest. The bathroom looked well scrubbed, BUT there was buildup around the faucet base... like they obviously keep the high touch areas clean, but it could use a scrape and a new layer of caulk. I didn't have any complaints. Good food. Good coffee. Great service, with perfectly timed refills. Not a bad price. Overall, a nice quiet place to have breakfast and read my book until my kid finished his class at JeffCo. I'll likely be back when I'm in town again.

Meat was weird, chicken was brown on my salad and roast beef looked like pressed meatread more

I don't normally write reviews, but I had to after so many times they mess up our orders. This…read moretime we ordered two double cheeseburgers no pickle. We came back home and we had two single burgers with pickles. we called the Hillsboro Dairy Queen back and they just wanted to give us two single cheeseburgers. That was an insult to me. It's costing us more money in gas and our time and they just want to give us two more single burgers. That's not what we ordered. It still tastes like pickles even though you take the pickles off also. The juices of the pickles are in the hamburgers. They told us we can bring back the burgers even though we took a bite out of them or we can come back and get two more single cheeseburgers. What kind of business is that, and the girl on the phone actually said " he said he made doubles." So I sent them back and said you can check them and see that clearly they are singles. So we returned the single burgers and we get what we originally ordered but it costs us extra gas and our time, because we had to make two trips to get the order we originally ordered. I'm sorry that is insulting to me. I just want to mention another time we ordered Onion rings and they were so hard and crispy that the onions were gone. They replaced that order, yet we had to go back there again, which costs us more money for gas and our time once again. If you know anything about Hillsboro, Missouri, you know it is in a rural area. What if I paid someone to drive to pick up my order. I would have had to pay them twice for driving their car again to Dairy Queen and pay for their time I'm addition. Honestly i have the correct hamburgers now, but I'm afraid to eat it now. Because I made a big ordeal about it, I'm afraid they may have spit in it or something. Clearly they don't value the customer if they just offer another single burger to make it a double, but it costs you extra money for your gas and actually more than that, if you think about it. Because it costs you miles that is taken off the life of your car. You figure you pay taxes every year to drive your car, and the maintenance or repair for your car. I recently realized that with car insurance with using safe driving service they offer that mist of them offer rate you for how many miles you put on your car and your rates go up on the next policy renewal. I live on a budget and everything counts. Everything costs alot now ever since COVID and our pay has not increased compared to the increase in prices for everything else that we have to pay for to live. Like I said, I don't usually write reviews, but I had to after they messed up our order and how we were treated this time once again.

Having worked at Dairy Queens in my youth, I have a pretty good idea of fair expectations from this…read morerestaurant. Most of my frozen treat experiences here have been good, but I can't say that for my hot food experiences. Every hamburger I've purchased has been microwaved to death. When I say microwaved, i don't just mean the meat was reheated. The whole wrapped burger was so hot that the cheese is in the wrapper, and the use extreme caution you don't drip the condiments on you because it will burn. The bun is so hot and soggy that it conforms to the contents. I wish I could say this is a one time experience but I've bought hot food there at least 3 times. They should either figure out a better way or give up the hot food side of their business.
