a hand holding a box of chicken nuggies

This place always gets my order wrong but today they really irritated me. I placed a mobile order to pick up inside (because it's usually wrong) but when I arrived the doors were locked. I had to sit in the drive through and explain. They weren't too smart and I was highly inconvenienced. I get home and the 4 piece McNugget has 3 pieces. Since they can't count to 4, I'll take my chances at the next one.

Spicy chicken sandwich

We'll this is their spicy chicken sandwich.... Doesn't have any sauce in it. Like it showed in pictures. Literally a waste of 5 bucks. Never coming here again. Bad service and bad food....

Unless corporate is there the food is always wrong or ice cold. Very few occasions have we gotten what we actually ordered and it be fresh.

Terrible service. Left chicken nuggets out of happy meal. And refused to refund money. Manager didn't even acknowledge me.

I read it three times, not because I misunderstood it, but because I wanted to confirm that it listed pets and children in that order, which it did, and that tells you something about the sequence of problems they've encountered on the lawn, though I've decided not to find out what exactly. With that said, the lawn is not exactly a lawn at all, unless you consider granite rocks as a lawn, which the residents of Elberton, Georgia do as it is considered the "Granite Capital of the World." Elberton this is not. This rocky lawn is to be filled with Bichon Frisés and children in ball caps, and on the afternoon I visited it was doing exactly that. There was a dog near the covered bar area moving through the patio with the serenity of an animal who has never once been told that other people exist. His owner stood nearby holding a beer and looking proud, which is a face I recognized, because I have a son and have stood next to him with that exact expression at least twice in public places where I should have known better. I had the Radiant Positivity, a sour ale at 6%, which sounds like something printed above a middle school guidance counselor's desk but turned out to be genuinely good, all grapefruit and a tartness that knew when to stop. I thought about ordering the Kamp Jam, a 4% light lager described as tasting like shared laughter and the unbreakable bonds of friendship, and decided I wasn't there yet. The owners opened this place in 2014 and have expanded it three times since, which tells you something about Greer that it probably already knows about itself but that the rest of the area is still catching up on. Consequentially, Greer itself has also expanded its waistline 3 times since 2014 but that's a discussion for another time. I ordered a second beer, the Howler Bock, a Helles Bock that the bartender described in terms I didn't fully follow but nodded along to, the way you nod at a doctor who is explaining something you've already decided to accept. It was malty and quieter than the Radiant Positivity, the kind of beer you drink while thinking about something else, which is not an insult. I thought about asking about the Southern Sanctum, an American Tripel, but the afternoon had reached the evening and a point where a Tripel felt like a commitment that deserved more deliberation than I had left in me. I paid my tab, which was reasonable in a way that surprised me given the quality of everything, said goodbye to nobody in particular, and drove home thinking about the Kamp Jam, and whether the unbreakable bonds of friendship were something I'd get to eventually.

I had takeout that was purchased an hour prior to when I had lunch, but when I went to open my meal, it was still warm & fresh! It was also wrapped and packaged neatly. I got a veggie burger with cheese, which tasted great! The patty was definitely full of veggies. All the sandwich ingredients were fresh and the whole wheat bun was a nice surprise. The sweet potato fries were also yummy and didn't taste too fried or oily. I would've thought they were baked! For a burger and fries, I didn't feel gross and sluggish afterwards either. Had the chicken club sandwich with fries and a water. I love a good club sandwich and this didn't disappoint! It was very tasty and satisfying and the chicken was cooked to pet and juicy! The bacon was crisp and the fries were golden brown, crispy and sweet. The inside was extremely clean and comfortable. The temperature inside was cool and the aroma made you hungry. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that it was lunchtime on a Saturday on Wade Hampton and thin place was not very busy. This really scares me when the food is this good but the place isn't busy. This is definitely another "will return soon" place. If you're reading this, yes, give it a try. I think I spent maybe $15 for my meal. Not horrible in today's economy.

Her sleeves are rolled up, a few loose strands of hair catching the daylight as she moves with effortless rhythm. A warm, knowing smile spreads across her face as she happily serves a jug of the house-made egg nog. Soon after, she prepares a crafty Old Fashioned--measuring the bourbon, stirring clear ice in a heavy rocks glass, perfectly embodying the brewery's quirky southern soul and big-hearted attitude. There's a lived-in comfort to the space: scuffed wood that tells stories, sunlight pooling across tables, and small-town pride in every detail. The atmosphere is welcoming and unpretentious, equal parts gathering place and second home. It's where locals come not just for the beer or cocktails, but for the familiarity--the nods, the shared jokes, the sense of belonging that keeps them hanging around long after the glass is empty. Cheers!

The Clock has been here for over forty years. Longer than most marriages. Longer, certainly, than…read morethe one my parents had, which lasted closer to thirty years and ended, according to my father, because of a disagreement about a sectional sofa. I think about that sometimes. I think about it now, pulling into the parking lot, because there is something about a place that has simply endured that feels like a rebuke to everything that hasn't. Inside, locals from near and nearer move through the dining room, shaking hands with people who have been eating here for years. Years. I can't keep a houseplant alive for six months, and these people have been coming back, reliably, to this same place, to order the same food, for years. Chili cheeseburger after chili cheeseburger that creates a sense of togetherness and, at times, heart attacks. There's something almost painful about that kind of loyalty. Or maybe I'm just projecting. I find myself staring at the alternating layers of patty, chili, cheese, and I think onions for a moment before eating, the way you might stare at a word you've written too many times until it stops looking like a word. It is good. It is genuinely, embarrassingly good, in the way that things are good when they have not been overthought. And it was delicious in spite of health value. If you're eating at The Clock for health value, I direct you to the salads with prejudice. The menu runs from salads, to tacos, to hot dogs to a meat and three (or for those in Greer, a meat and four), which is not a range you encounter often in a single establishment. It is the culinary equivalent of a man who says he can fix anything. You are skeptical, and then you watch him fix the thing, and you don't know whether to be impressed or slightly ashamed of your own limitations. Ask anyone around town and they'll tell you about roller skating car hops, late night gatherings after high school games, real ice cream milkshakes. Nobody tells you stories like that about a place they didn't love. They're not telling you about the food. They're telling you about who they were when they ate it. I order the sweet tea. It arrives cold and correct. I'm certain my dentist has a handshake agreement with Jimmy that both will keep each other in business a long time. I will come back here, but not as often as I should. We all have our faults. The Clock has few.
