McDonald's is McDonald's. The food is the same everywhere you go. While generally I am not a fan, I do like their coffee and breakfast.
My gripe with this location is service I recently experienced. I don't expect 5-star service, I do, however, expect it to at least be courteous.
I placed my breakfast order, it was taken by the shift manager. I paid, she walked away and announced she was going for a smoke break. The girl on drive-thru (I am guessing she was a supervisor by her uniform) says something to the effect of "Again? You've been out several times, when do I get to take a break?". The manager made some smart comment in response, which I do not recall at this point. The girl on Drive-Thru says: "So what am I supposed to do? When do I get to go". Manager responds: "You're going to man drive-thru, and the counter while I take a break. You can smoke when you're off work." The manager (who shall remain nameless, though starts with D) flips my order across the counter as she walks by. No 'thank you' no 'have a good day' nothing. Just unceremoniously toss my order at me as she walks by. The girl on drive-thru and I exchange looks as if to say "WTF".
As I exit the store the manager an another employee are standing in front of the store puffing away. Clearly in uniform with name-tags on.
Here are my issues:
#1- you don't have such a discussion in front of customers
#2- as a manager it is your responsibility to ensure everyone gets their breaks before you take your own.
#3- you don't smoke in front of the store in plain sight. I'm sure your designated smoking area is not by the main entrance.
If I had contact for the store manager I'd contact him/her. This was unacceptable customer service, and unfair treatment of employees. read more
