Surprised there's only a few reviews…read more Great to see nandos in Loughton, grew up here and there wasn't much going on food wise on the high street. I've always enjoyed nandos on my trips back. I had the grilled chicken wrap with chips. Now I remember why I always use to get double chicken- because in the single there is literally a couple tiny pieces in each end of the wrap. I wasn't satisfied after I finished. Chips were great Peri peri style. Next time I'll order plain chicken breast with chips or the mash. Service was not bad for England. Although it took ages to order because one register (till) was down. I'll be back tho ! I love the nandos taste.

I don't usually eat a lot but in nandos they're portions are so big and because the food is so delicious I always finish everything !

I was really excited when I found out a Nando's was coming to Southend. Not because I'm a huge…read morelover of piri piri chicken, but because it meant that there would be increased dining options on Southend's high street and we would be able to have something other than burgers or pizza if we fancied lunch out. Whenever a restaurant opens I expect some teething problems, but Nando's problems have persisted for almost one year and I expect they won't get any better. We have tried phoning our orders in advance for my husband to collect and every time he's returned home to find that we are missing several dishes or have some wrong items. Now, some would ask why he didn't check the order after the first or second time the restaurant made the same mistake . We have tried dining in at weekend lunch-times, found the service to be pitifully slow and quite often receive the wrong orders. Is it just us?! I don't understand why they should have such problems - they only serve chicken! All of the staff are really friendly, stopping to make a fuss of the kids and making sure that they've got crayons and colouring paper when our meals seem to be taking a long time, but friendly staff is not a good enough reason to give this place any more chances.

So I joined the lunchtime queue at the Fish House, located in East Street close to the main junction with Victoria Avenue. A queue, as Prospects College is just down the road and at 12.30pm the guys from this construction college target the chippy for a quick meal. Although the queue, was long service was quick, and I was in and out with my bag of open chips in 5 minutes. Chips you could easily class as the good old style variety thick cut fried just right so they tasted brill. A great lunch enjoyed thoroughly and although I baulked at the price, which I find myself doing with a lot of things at the moment, I guess this might be standard price for all chippy's.

There's not much that makes the place stand out from other establishments, the prices are average, the food is tasty enough and being in Erith town centre it is easily accessible. The one down side is that later at night it does attract a lot of people from pubs in the surrounding area who when I was last in there got a bit rowdy and on the way to and from Town Kebab at that time you feel like you have to be careful and watch your back. This is obviously nothing to do with the people who run Town Kebab, it is more of an Erith thing but it is worth being vigilant in order to stay out of harms way.
