We had the pleasure of meeting Tania and her granddaughter Maddy, who were both incredibly friendly and genuinely excited that we stopped by. The diner is absolutely oozing with personality. It feels like you're visiting family... if family charged you for a great hamburger! I ordered the Body Bearded Burger, a smash burger topped with your choice of cheese, crispy bacon, peanut butter, and the option to add jelly for just 99 cents. They offer grape or strawberry jelly, and of course I had to try it. All burgers come with fresh-cut fries, though you can upgrade to onion rings for a small additional charge. The burger was outstanding. Cooked perfectly on the griddle and served on a nicely toasted bun, every bite was packed with flavor. The peanut butter added a rich, nutty taste, the bacon brought a salty crunch, and the jelly added just the right touch of sweetness. It sounds like an unusual combination, but trust me--it works incredibly well. The fresh-cut fries were a great side, and the whole meal felt like classic diner comfort food done right. If you're anywhere near Bellefontaine, do yourself a favor and stop by Don's Downtown Diner. Great food, great people, and the kind of hometown atmosphere that's becoming harder and harder to find.

We came for their fresh local meat hamburgers. I got the portobello burger. It had swiss cheese, fried portobello mushrooms, and horseradish sauce. I opted to not get the horseradish sauce. The burger came with handcut fries that were hot and fresh. The burger was hot and tasted very good. This is a very family friendly place that serves good home cooked food. I highly recommend coming here and make sure you talk to Tanya. She is super friendly! You will really like her and the food is GOOD!! Take a walk downtown after you eat. Bellfontaine is a super cute town with quant shops!

When the bill came we paid it with a card and when it was brought there was a 3% charge for credit card (I know a lot of places have started doing this but it should be shared with patrons before they pay). Again, they also over charged for the discounted item. We did just pay and go because we had someplace to be and we were already late because everything g took so long. This was our 3rd try at the Syndicate and we just haven't been impressed with anything but the vibe. The vibe is the best thing about it. The food has always been mid and over priced at best. Sad - we really want to love it and have a nice brunch location for weekends.

Underestimating, I bet 10 online orders were served before the little girl and I. They only prioritized DoorDash type orders. I get it's fast food but part of the business model of fast food is that the internal systems are so foolproof, teenagers can run the locations. I understand order mixups cranking out that many orders an hour, but that's never been an issue and the quality (at the beginning of the year) has always been pretty good. I will not be returning because it's really become a horrible value.
