Four stars for interior decor because it's contemporary design is more chic than most McD's in North America -- but I hear newly renovated locations in California could compete with Starbucks.
Anyway I reluctantly ate here with my Turkish friend who insisted that we didn't have time for a better place. The cashier and the team supporting her worked at a decent pace... but I was a bit digusted by the prix fixe menu options: Besides the burger (with a kofte patty or two, if you specified) and fries... a customer also could get chicken nuggets! My Turkish friend looked at me since he thought this was quite normal. He's not obese by any means -- but he honestly told me the other parts of the meal wouldn't satiate his appetite.
Oh yeah the drink was separate... and there's no self-service fountain, which means no unlimited drinks.
Other differences I absolutely cannot stand include (1) customers are afraid someone else will take their food, so they still stand at the counter and crowd you as you place your order. They don't step away from the counter and wait for their number / order to be called. (2) Diners don't bus their trays when they've finished eating. Another staff member who circulates in the dining area will clean up your mess. I can understand how this creates a job -- but it conditions customers to be irresponsible for their own actions. read more
