    Friendly and knowledgeable, always very responsive, and I saved a lot of money switching to McDaniel Group in Fall of 2024! No looking back!

All he cares about is to sell you his financial service and will use every single way he knows off to find out what is in your bank account. I found out about Josh a few years ago when I was shopping around for home/auto insurance. Before I signed up with him, he was extremely responsive and super quick to reply to my emails. He even gave me his personal phone number and told me that I can contact him whenever needed. After I switched over to Farmers, for first 3 months he kept fishing, trying to get me to sign up for his financial services. I told him off the bat that I am looking for insurance only, and that I do not need financial services. But he kept trying. Got me signed up for Umbrella Insurance and the first thing he said was "I would like to know how much savings you have so that I could make sure that you have the right coverage." He sent me a spreadsheet asking me for all of my account balances, including my 401K. I actually fell for it for a second, but then I checked around I found out that I am not required to give him any of that information, so I started ignoring his requests. Fast forward to last month. I got an email from one of his associate to remind me that I have an upcoming auto renewal. They always sent me an email reminder about 6 weeks before I was up for renewal. I got the bill and noticed that my auto insurance went up on my 6 and 7 years old car, with zero claims. So I started shopping around to see if I can get a cheaper insurance. To my surprise, ALL of the insurance companies were offering me at the very least 50% cheaper auto-insurance, compared to Farmers. And those companies include Geico, Progressive, All-State, StateFarm and Liberty Mutual. So, when I found that Farmers was over charging me like crazy (1350 for 2 cars vs 540 for 2 with my current insurer), I reached out to Josh's associate, Doreen Karamaga, and asked her the process of cancelling my account with Farmers. It has been exactly a month since I sent her my first email and still there is no response. I reached out to her twice and then added Josh to another 2 emails sent Doreen. So in total, I sent 4 emails to Doreen, and 2 to Josh, and I have yet to hear back from either one of them. I ended up going to Farmers competitors anyways, but I had to call Farmer's 800 number to cancel my accounts, since Josh could not be bothered to even respond. All in all, based on the way Josh handled all this, I will never be recommending Josh to anyone. My personal experience was less than stellar with him. --- Cross posted on a few other sites ---

    AVOID BOIZELLE AND ERIE! We have had homeowners insurance…read morewith Boizelle since 2004 and car insurance with them for several years longer than that. Today I got a call from them saying that our homeowners insurance was cancelled and that we are currently exposed without insurance! They said that two notices were mailed by Erie to our home but they didn't receive payment so they canceled our coverage. We have always faithfully paid our premiums when bills have come for the last 20 years. I don't know why we didn't receive their notices in the mail but I told Boizelle that it is a horrible policy to not receive a phone call about this BEFORE TAKING THE STEP TO CANCEL OUR POLICY! The first phone call was after they canceled our policy! We certainly would have paid immediately if notified by phone that it was necessary to do so. I would have even been OK with automatic payment via our credit card in order to stay covered. Bottom line, they said that to get coverage again we'd have to start from scratch by getting one of their people out to our house and drafting up a policy as if we were new customers. This is a boneheaded policy. Being left uninsured by surprise is a big deal and a poor way to treat a loyal customer. I know that there are better insurance companies out there that wouldn't have such ineffective practices. At least I know some good questions to ask other potential insurance companies before I give them our business.

Result- a lot of incompetent people all with the last name Boizelle, and yet no one to actually help you when you call. You will be sold on how great Erie is, their customer service (note- you can get Erie from any number of qualified and professional agents in the DC area..this is HARDLY the only option).. but take a look at the limits. This is coming from someone who previously thought insurance was complicated and hard to understand - with a little research, I felt more qualified than the older Boizelle boy who could barely understand what he was reading about my policy from his computer. TLDR- family business gone wrong. Go with another Erie agency in the area
