I was here for The Original Hot Dog Factory https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-original-hot-dog-factory-charlotte and then stepped next door for a quick shop at the Food Lion. The shopping center is in good condition and is easy to navigate with clearly marked pedestrian crossings in front of the larger stores. The JW Clay Blvd light rail station https://www.yelp.com/biz/lynx-jw-clay-blvd-station-charlotte?hrid=lmv5K8rvH31zfUhr1MnP-Q is just to the south. One day on Facebook, an ad popped up for this place and I realized what I thought it was and what it actually was is completely different. This place is a treasure chest. One that you will need ample time and patience for. This business of full of rows of bins of returns from amazon. Depending on the day, determines how much your treasure finds are. No matter what you find this is what You pay for one item: Monday $4 Tuesday $3 Wednesday $2 Thursday $2 Friday $6 Saturday $5 Bring plastic gloves. You'll be digging through bins and items. You'll thank me for this. Some of the items are in boxes and you can't tell what the item looks like. Don't open at the bin. You can bring any item to an opening station, and they will open for you. They restock and replenish on Friday & Saturday - hence the higher price tag. Our best find has been two hydro flask for $3 each. But we've purchased portable chargers, skin care items, collagen peptides, coffee, face masks, blankets, comforters and so much more. All from their bins. They do have a shoe area and other items not located in the bins. Those items are Priced as Marked. If you have some spare time and enjoy a good find, then this place is for you.

Since I love all things mall I definitely love the Overstreet Mall. This little mall consist of…read moreshopping, doctors offices, barber shops beauty salons and restaurants. It tucked inside a few of the large buildings downtown and connect them all on one level. Not sure where you would technically say is starts but for me It begins in the Wachovia building (I think it truthfully starts in the BB and T building but I can't leave these few shops out in the Wachovia building) and continues all the way to the Hearst Tower. I have visited a lot of the shops and the restaurant inside. It's an escape from the elements outside and a cool thing to see. However on the weekends it's a ghost town. The mall caters to the working/ business people downtown. On the weekends only the section in the Bank of America plaza is open and only Walgreens and the lobby of the Omni seem to be open. There is security walking around though. There are several different entrances and exits for the mall. You can walk towards other building in the area and there are tons of tunnels and walkways that connect you to different restaurants and shops in those building. The only thing open in this "mall" was a Walgreen's in the BofA building, none of the passageways were open nor did any of the nearby hotel employees even know they existed. Apparently all there is to do in Uptown is eat or drink, as there is a wealth of great restaurant and bar options, but there is no retail whatsoever. None. Really and truly sad because it's such a beautiful city, but unless you're looking for a bar or restaurant crawl, or to watch one of the local sports teams lose, you'll have to go elsewhere.
