Baskets and carts available. Lots of peaches of course. But also some other fruits and vegetables. All looked good and they were bringing out more from the back. Several cold cases with bagged and packaged items including sauerkraut cheeses and butter and soft drinks. Lots of pickled, canned items (Mason jars) and dip mixes. Some metal yard art sculptures, cute pots for plants, tee shirts. Then if you go inside there's an ice cream counter and some baked goods, and you can order sandwiches. There are lots of tables so you can eat there or get it to go. One whole side of the store is now retail items such as clothes, cups, stuffed animals, keychains, jewelry, etc. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food came out pretty fast. Price a little steep but they were pretty big sandwiches and they were good. My mother got a Club on white and I got the Holy Guacamole on sourdough. They did make a couple errors. They switched the bread, so my sandwich came out on white and my mother's came out on sourdough. There were also no sprouts on my sandwich. No mention that they were out of them so assuming they forgot. But both sandwiches were very good so not a big deal. The fruit and veggies are half the price that they are in stores and twice as fresh. My most recent favorite purchase was a quart sized basket of beautiful vine ripened beef steak tomatoes for $5! If you bought just one of those tomatoes in a grocery store it would cost you $2.50 a tomato and they would not be nearly as tasty. The peaches this year were fabulous too. I buy all of my produce at the Farmers Market now. I just love to go there! The Farmer's Market also sells potted plants. The plants here are just beautiful. The plants at the Farmers Market are nothing like the plants that you would find at one of those chain stores like Home Depot or Lowes, these plants are big and healthy. And...what a bargain! The market is open 7 days a week year round. They also take food stamps for those in need. Stop by soon and pick up some nice healthy veggies and treat yourself to good for you food.

They offer u pick blueberries, they make their own goat cheese, eggs, and honey. They also sell a lot of organic and sustainable vegetables and grains. They are also really nice and will take time to educate you about what they sell. We first went there to buy our own bread making supplies and equipment and they took time to educate us about the process. They are just off of Redland Road so they are only about 15 minutes from some parts of Lake Martin. Call ahead to make sure they are open but Saturdays are a great day to go all year. Let the kids feed the goats as you get your own locally made organic food.

Pure excellence!!…read more This is a local farmer's market with an excellent selection of local fruits and vegetables. It typically runs during the summer from June - August/September. Locally-grown tomatoes, eggplant, PEACHES (!!), zucchini, watermelon, even fresh local cinnamon and tea! I also scored some an amazing banana bread loaf, and locally-raised beef which I have yet to try. Every farmer we encountered was entirely happy to let you see, touch, and taste the products. That's the sign of proud people who stand by their products, and an excellent reason to visit. To cap it all off, there was a really lovely local bluegrass band serenading the market at 7am. A really nice touch. I can't wait to return week after week!

There is a wide selection of veggies & other produce, the market size is manageable, and sometimes they have live music. I recommend the honey stand for delicious local honey (great for seasonal allergy sufferers like myself). The location is also super convenient for anyone who attends or works at UA. Visited the river market a few weekends ago and it was amazing! The market has truly grown since…read morethe last time I visited and it's so beautiful to see! I love supporting local businesses in my college town. I picked up some delicious pies from Sweet Daddy's Pies, some yummy treats from Bliss Treat Bar, and great soaps from Elephantine Mink Soap Co. as well as a lovely man selling goats milk soap - I didn't catch a business name. Such a lovely market! A must visit if you're from or visiting Tuscaloosa. They run the market on Saturdays and Tuesdays in June & July.

And did I mention the gluten free offerings? I saw three vendors with gluten free offerings. We brought home GF pound cake, GF chocolate chip cookies and gluten safe chicken salad. Yummy! We will definitely be back. The River Market Farmers Market is every Saturday morning (7-12) year round. Handicap accessible, grocery carts available. Bring your own bag to help carry things home.... And don't forget your furry companions. We saw several very well behaved dogs either carried or on a leash and one young lady was off to the side doing some distraction training with her chocolate lab.
