Having a sick child sit in the car seat for over an hour, While fight high fever and buckled in. This happened All through the cold, rain and heat. I couldn't unbuckle my child from car seat and drive my car into the barn. No waiting area! My child was helpless. Barn was not child friendly- no kid rooms. Patients were seen in car. After a year of this and countless tears and waiting 1.5 hours for my child to be seen I broke down with Nurse and said I cannot do this to my toddler. I switched and never looked back!

They see the child as a whole person and not just a cough or a rash. If you hate to wait (or have a tight schedule), it might be frustrating. When my child is sick or has an issue - I don't want to feel like I have to go home and look things up on the internet to confirm the pediatrician gave me all the options and was up on the most current guidelines, research etc. I trust Westchester Pediatrics to tell me what I need to know and that's it. When my son had an emergency illness and was subsequently hospitalized for three days, they kept in constant with me and the hospital to stay fully informed of his situation. I want to give special praise to one doctor in particular, Dr. David Costabile. He is extremely patient, listens to your concerns and thoroughly addresses all your questions no matter how minute. He explains everything in layman's terms and never throws medical jargon in your face. He has been the best health care profession that I've ever dealt with.

The office is very responsive and has always fitted us in quickly for issues of concern, as well as helping fix appointments with specialists when needed. Only two minor quibbles: they do keep you waiting for routine visits, at least 30 mins in my experience (Dr Roye especially seems to run late perhaps bc she spends extra time with young patients!). Tedious with a newborn. Also one thing for nursing moms: I found that like with other doctors, there is some pressure here for newborns to regain birth weight faster than breastfeeding often allows; it's helpful to come armed with an opinion from your lactation consultant. We scheduled a visit prior to our son being born. The 2 of them spent over and hour with us answering dozens of questions and never once pushed for our commitment. After the meeting my wife and I were very confident in their abilities as physicians. They are parents themselves and this was evident right away. Not only did he not fix the problem, he created additional problems that I had never had before. Now it's not only my shoulder, but my neck is in constant pain. I went back and told him what has happened as a result of his work and his answer is "All appears fine. Maybe you should go do physical therapy instead." All is not fine. All is worse now than before I saw him. But suddenly when he's challenged on the terrible work he's done, the answer is not chiropractic help, but physical therapy.
